Have You Experienced The Samsung Update Problem?

Has any Ozbargain member experienced the issue with the Samsung phones that has come up in the news in the past few days? What phone model did it happen to? Was it a significant update like an android 12 (One UI 4) to android 13 (One UI 5) update? Is it really just in South Australia? Found this interesting as the code number of some updates seem to be pretty much the same globally.

Haven't seen a forum post about this yet so thought it would help everyone get an idea of who's getting affected.

    mine updated just prior to Christmas, probably just a security update but then mine is an old A20 so unsure if this update prob affects it

  • I had the frozen phone when it came through but was able to force a restart. No loss as I didn't update. SA.

  • Dec 27 update No issues on my galaxy fold 3.
    However..
    Apple mainstage, a program owned and written by apple, running on Marcos. I've abandoned. Example 1 of Apple writing crap software.
    Onsong for IOS another example of crap updates by Apple. Onsong play the blame game, but refuse to be release a multiplatform version.

    which phone ? I updated missus's S22 sometime ago to security patch 1 Dec 2022 (currently at One UI 5, Android 13), but there were no issues. Just now updated my S10 to security patch 1 Dec 2022 (currently at One UI 4.1, Android 12)

    I have the Flip3, since the update to One UI 5, been having the phone screen freeze or apps suddenly close. Fortunately, no data loss, but have needed to restart the phone about once a week to keep things running. Battery life may also be worse than before but it's been a lot activities over the holidays (vs working at a desk) anyway so not entirely sure.

    No, I have an oppo. It's only had one update though which really sucks for a flagship model.

  • Updated my Galaxy S21 FE to Android 13 yesterday.
    No issues so far but I am hoping that it will improve the user experience with what I consider to be the worst Samsung phone I have ever owned. 🤞

    Not Samsung, but hubby has the zenfone 8, 5 days ago it had a security update which installed and when it asked to restart he pressed restart…. It never turned back on. Hard bricked. Have been sent in for assessment…
