  • Probably not suitable for dumbbell rows or push-ups?

This is NOT the gear you need to get massive

    • +1

      You need both.

    • Trenything is possible

Bought these years ago, the worst grip on a dumbbell I have ever seen, digs into the skin in a very uncomfortable way.

The 24kg dumbbell from the same company (Fortis) has a much more comfortable round rubber grip.

Agree, but I fixed this with these: https://amzn.asia/d/66Unua9

They fit perfectly and provide a great grip.

      • haha agreed. I've been using tennis grip on dumbbells for ages.

Is it not a common thing? It should be, so comfy.

      • Yep, I did the exact same thing, and now they're perfect.

    • As in the shape? Or it has harsh knurling?

      • harsh knurling,

They may have fixed this issue since I bought it, but unlike most dumbbells, the ones here are like a bunch of small dots spaced far enough from each other that they dig into your hand.

        • +1

          Hi no they have not
The knurling is insane but I’m fine from years of callous

These things always break. Tried two brands. The plastic is overly fragile on the locking mechanism

  • Flat $50 shipping even with Kogan first.

  • Got a set last time they dropped. Still 80 shipping to Ben. Knurling is cray but been good so far. Claimed price protection 🤙

    • i just bought these a couple of weeks ago for 320 including shipping. can i claim price protection now its reduced?

      • +1

If you have 28 degrees OG cc yes, otherwise no

        • ah i see. thanks

  • Picked up these as well. Already have the adjustable kettlebell from kogan as well. From the reviews it seems I just have to be careful not to drop them.

  • Got a pair, thanks OP.

  • Stumbled across this today myself. I have been scratching my head over the best dumbell option for my home gym (barbell, rack etc already sorted). I have been a bit iffy on these selectable sets but you could easily pay $800+ for a set that goes up to 40kg and has ~2kg increments like this one does, and then the delivery is also pretty acceptable considering the weight of the item. For $248 shipped I can stop debating dumbell options for a while.

Thanks for the tip about the knurling, I will order some tennis racquet handle tape now as well.

    • Received my pair of these today, which is pretty speedy delivery. I have only had a quick play with them but they seem to be exactly what you would expect.

I mainly use barbells so dumbell stuff is usually ancillary for me. I don't expect to need anything heavier than 40kg x 2.

The switching to different weights is easy and works fine, the knurling really is pretty rough so I am glad I have some tennis racquet tape coming… that said they are hardly unusable, just a bit "sharp".

I think you can buy a stand for these but my first impression is that you would want a fairly low base for them as you have to put them back home pretty much vertically downward so the plates all line up.

For the price these are a really good deal; I don't know how they got the shipping so low frankly.

FYI, I got a $20 for 20kg (free shipping) set during Black Fri. As a benchmark, this is quite expensive.

  • I've got these, and myself and my PT friend think they're great!
Definitely order a tennis racket overgrip as mentioned above, though.

  • Anywhere else for a similar price that's not Kogan?
