Reason: Orders cancelled by Amazon.

Hi Everyone

This seems like a good deal to try out, reviews are very mixed but the price is cheap to try it out.

This will be an import from the US.

Yes it says 6 blades, but from the comments it says 3-4 blades, you decide if you want to try it.

    But it's more than $1?

This is the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising since my suit against the film 'The Neverending Story'.

    • +3

Not sure on their marketing , its most likely saying each blade is the dollar shave method.(this is now the 60cent shave club)

    • +3

      $2 Shave Club

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, do these sound like the actions of a man who's had ALL he could eat?

    • +3

Please create a thread about the legal action. It's the ozbargain way.

    • +7

      No, money down!

    • +2

It’s almost as bad as Boost Juice not selling juice.

America seems to lots of Dollar stores like the Dollar tree franchise. There are lots more budget retailers in the "Home of the Brave" than in Australia.

    • +1

Seems this needs a "you must be pun at farties" comment

    • +2

$1 dollar USD its a U.S company not a Australian.

  • +11

Get a safety blade razor instead

    • Which one you recommend?

      • +2

I use WEISHI which I got for $28. Been using this since May with a bulk pack of 100 razor blades for $10. Add shaving cream for about $4. Haven't purchased anything else since.

        • +1

100 blades for $10? link plz.

          • +6

            @dealhunting007: Not $10 right now but https://www.amazon.com.au/BIC-Double-Safety-Platinum-Coverin…

Paid $10.12 on S&S the last time the price dropped.

            • +1

@coxymla: How many times can you shave with one blade?

              • +2

@shap08: Heaps. I probably only swap out a blade once every month (if that). I purchased a 100 blades years ago and haven't purchased any since. The other great thing is if I get lazy and don't shave for a week, the blades can cut through the long growth. I tried a gillette mach 3 a few months ago on holidays and I think I shave approx the same speed with the DE compared with the disposable.(Very hairy man, that has to shave daily)

              • +2

@shap08: Depends on the blade, your beard, storage conditions (humidity etc).

Ive been using the same Merkur blade to trim up my neck and cheeks 3 times a week for 3-4 weeks now. I used to get 3 days to a week of daily full shaves out of blades.

Would recommend getting a variety pack from for example beardandblade.com.au/, to see which blades work for you and your razor

                • @OZKap: 3 days only!?! Do you use both sides?

                  • +1

                    @Iost: For a 10 cent blade!?!

Can go for longer if you don't mind a less sharp blade

Edit: oh nevermind you're not the one who asked. I think corrosion is my main issue, high humidity and coastal

          • +4

@dealhunting007: Not quite $10 anymore, but close.

        • May I have a recommendation for a cream too please? And what are your thoughts on a brush, or do you just use your hands to put it on your face?

          • +2

@Lunatic: Proraso shaving creams are quite good and quite inexpensive - they have sensitive options too if it suits.

You want a badger hair shaving brush (and some kind of bowl) to lather up the cream - plenty of video tutorials on youtube.

Once you've tried wet shaving you'll never go back to cartridges.

        • I ended up going with this WEISHI

        • Which shaving cream would you recommend?

          • @sorasora: Depends on your skin. I personally use Nivea Sensitive

      • +2

King C Gillette is pretty good. Got on the last OzB deal.

      • +2

        Feather Razor and Feather Blades.

No need to exfoliate when you slice the skin off your face every few days.

    • +3

Yep this is the way to go. Hot towel method, a safety razor, decent shaving cream and you’ll never have razor bumps again.

      • What about shaving after showering? I don't get razor bumps when shaving after a shower. I would shave in the shower but I'm pretty sure the person who pays the bills is timing me.

        • Yep, shaving after showering is good because the steam/hot water will open your pores and soften the beard.

Personally, I shower after shaving so I can rinse all the blood down the drain, haha.

    • +1

Why isn't there a safety razor with a flexible head :(

I have several, disposable razors still are far more comfortable.

      • +1

        You're after a leaf razor

      • the only difference is technique, just become good at it.

    • I've been using one for years and I still haven't quite got the hang of it. I get a closer shave from a disposable razor. But I like how old timey it is. You watch I Love Lucy and it's what all the men used. Homer Simpson uses one sometimes in older episodes. And it's fairly cheap, especially if you buy the cheap Russian blades.

Maybe I should try a straight edge razor, more incentive to learn how to hold it at the proper angle.

  • +1

Can't even say I really want it, but for $2.41 with free international shipping I couldn't say no!

  • +1

Description error listing = free magic promo credit

  • the question should be asking ourselves, is whether the blade is blunt or 2nd hand blade?

    • Huh?

      • its too cheap to be true to believe it… the cost itself for the product may even high than $2.40

        • Probably giving it away at cost price. It's all marketing to bring in new customers.

I ordered a few. Can't go wrong at that price. Plus something I'll actually use!

        • +1

Cheaper than paying for a TV ad. Give these away at cost price and bring in heaps more potential customers to their subscription.

        • +2

its all about the 'subscription' model, they make their money off people regularly buying the blades.

    • +2

Razor blades cost a few cents each. It's years of marketing by gilette that makes you think this price is too cheap.

  • good price, buy first, think later lol

  • +9

6 blade refers to the number of blades on each cartridge. The description says 4 cartridges

  • Thanks op purchased one delivery around March though.

  • Thanks OP. Worth buying to try them out.

  • Ordered 2 and the total was $0.00.

    • +2

nope, u may be paying with amazon credit

  • +2

    Got 30 thanks op

    • You must be Hungarian

  • +4

    Thanks but I'm naturally hairless.

  • I feel guilty for ordering 10 with all the handles and stuff I won't need 10x

  • +1

Thanks, bought one. I don't shave often so this will last me over a year :)

  • Anyone know if the Travel Case/Cover fits the Gillette razors?

  • +3

    Not a prime member :(

    • +2

Wow I've never met a non prime member

  • Thanks, ordered a bunch. Very cheap and looks much better quality compared to the disposable razors I usually buy from Coles.

  • +5

Ill be honest, when this was first advertised on ads for instagram a few years ago, i got a subscription when it was First month free then $1 + delivery each month after, after getting them and trying them out, i found the blades were not very sharp and caused skin irritation, after 3 months of trialling them i went back to my old disposable Gillet blue 3 range and found id rather pay more for sharper cleaner razors than recycled junk

  • +2

Ok time for the hair police to check it out!

  • Posted about this before but I have mega sensitive skin. I'd gladly move to dollar shave club, if they offered a vibrating handle.

The M3 power and other vibrating razor products aren't a gimmick, the pain is way way less.
The reason they killed off the M3 power is it lets you use older blades far far longer.

    • +1

Same, which is why I can't use a cartridge with 6 blades in it. Even 5 gives me razor burn. Been using Schick which has the wires across the blade, which works well.
I can only shave using shaving oil (e.g. King of Shaves or Somersets), which is so much better than cream, foam or gel.

Looking at some of the negative reviews on this product, I'll give it a miss.

      • I didn't neg, I'd love to buy these cheap razors but vibrating handle is so important for me.

      • I use pre shave oil and shave cream with a brush. Works for me

  • Great deal thanks OP.

  • Ordered x4 thanks op

  • ordered a few, thanks op :)

  • Not sure if it’s still the case but Amway, dollar shave, and woolworths generic razor cartridges used to be all the same. Not same connection, actually the same.

  • If your dad doesn't have a beard, you've got two mums.

    • +1

Chinless men will scratch their beards

      • +3

And beardless men will scratch their chins

    • Lol, haven’t heard that song in years.

  • Bought them from the au store a few times before, over the years pricing has gone up. But still not bad when compared to supermarkets.
Just bought x3 of this deal.. $9ish for 12 blades ain’t bad

  • “Style Name:Razor Blade Cover”

Will they just send out a cover??

  • These still made by dorco?

  • Have been using these for years. The quality is good. Cut well and durable. The handles are "ok"

  • Can't seem to add to cart :/

  • +2

    $57.13 now

  • Perfect for travelling

  • now $7.40

  • +3

    $2.43 -> $57.13.
    That escalated quickly.

    • Surge pricing?
