    Okay - I'll start of.

Why the hell is Total Tools selling RATs?

    • +15

Coz RATs are Tools against COVID? LOL

    • +7

Tradies need to look after their health too?

    • +12

They probably ordered some throughout lockdown to sell at a premium (Whatever the going rate was at the time, $20 a test?) and now they're selling them on the cheap to appear like they're the good guys.

      • +1

        Or before they expire

      • RATs were never available during any lockdowns

        • -8

True.. chairman Dan in all wise wisdom was always reactive, not proactive!!

        • +1

          No thanks to Scomo

    • I don't mind this, Harvey Norman was selling these for $70 at some point. If a tool shop does so, and this brings down prices then why not.

  • +3

    That some cheap cludge

  • +4

    heh.
    Clunge.

    • +1

I’m off to find the clunge.

  • Where is this place?

    • +2

Covid is a new name for cold & flu?

      • +2

Coronaviruses aren't even new, COVID-19 was just a new type within that group. Not sure why people such as @allaboutdiscounts suddenly think something that has been known about for decades doesn't exist.

    • +2

It's all in the mind. There is no spoon.

    Why bother? Just inject bleach

aaw, you caught me bigley time

        • -2

it is "big league" . That has got to be the dumbest word vomit anyone could repeat.

          • +1

@Charity: No 'bigley' is a stupid word used by tRump so go throw your vomit at him

          • @Charity: It was definitely Bigly. And he also definitely said "Tim Apple".

Clungene RATs are good, in my experience. When I had covid last year it picked it up as a very strong positive (I verified it with a PCR). I’ve also used them when I haven’t had covid and gotten negatives.

People.. not an antivaxxer here but we are in year 3 of this stupid Covid "pandemic", every fricken few months theres a new variant.. so how do you think jabs are gonna keep up with the latest variant.. by the time you get the last jab a new variant is out.. what next ?? keep on "boosting" for the rest of our lives?, ( ontop of the annual annual flu shot as well?? but still not immuned against the last variants of flu or covid… for god sakes its a flu variant , treat it like a flu, stay home if you sick, take your meds and rest up, This BS has gone on long enough… but the propaganda machine media and their paid counterparts will just keep on going at it… 3 - F years people and now going into the 4th ! Enough already. ( Covid variants is another story , keeping it short.. )

    • +17

"Im not an antivaxxer"… Then continue to spew the regular antivax speech. Talks about conspiracy "propaganda" and gives you "medical" advice about his thoughts on covid.
Lol. Wtf is with these people

      • If I was anti vax - I would also include all vaccines , this is in the context of Covid - stick to the subject.
What conspiracy did I mention? Don't make it up.
If you think there isn't any propaganda , you are deceiving yourself.
My Medical advice .. blimey, I guess you have to be a Dr now to say that - if you are sick with the flu, then take your medication stay home and rest up.. this would something your mum would say.
Ask yourself the same question about wtf is with you.

        • What conspiracy did I mention?

You made him question and think for himself 😅

As usual, not addressing point but instead trying to attack your character simply because you refused to go along with the gov narrative.

    • +8

      But you didn't post facts…😉

    • Quite incredible he says. Quite incredible that he didn't have the training or knowledge to pick on on these basics, that he doesn't understand the difference between peer-reviewed studies and pre-prints, and that he didn't bother to look at the numerous limitations and assumptions/study control failures in the draft study (see Discussion ).

It's important that such studies are done and equally important that the conclusions are valid and not misrepresented by amateurs with agendas like Campbell.

  • +3

    Comes with bonus Covid 🤣

  • Came here to laugh at anti-vaxxers, wasn't disappointed one bit :) This is a deal about RAT tests - some people might want them and some might not. Nobody cares whether you want to use them, whether you like vaccines or if you think Covid is a conspiracy. Get over yourself and put your energy into something more productive than posting spam to every forum you can find, maybe take up a hobby like doing some gardening, getting into fitness or take up volunteering.

    • +10

Came here to laugh at anti-vaxxers… Get over yourself and put your energy into something more productive than posting spam to every forum you can find, maybe take up a hobby…

Stop and Think. You literally admitted you are doing exactly what you accuse others of doing. What you are doing is called projection.

    • +1

      You have no idea

  • Amazing to watch the.Darwin awards. Myocarditis strokes turbo cancers and terrible autoimmune diseases.
    Boost up !!!

    • +10

Hopefully they have a special on aluminium foil to make you feel better

    • You've either been misled about what the data says about those things or you're ignorant of the facts. Google 'covid-19 myocarditis autoimmune' and do some reading. If you aren't too far down the rabbit hole you'll quickly realise that there are people - like Campbell - intent on misleading the gullible who can't be bothered doing their own research.

VERY early days but preliminary studies suggest that covid-19 vaccinations have saved the lives of an estimated 14.4 million lives. Some say more. What do you have to say about that?

      • Total bs. Highest vaxxed countries have highest cases and highest deaths. UK and Germany are literal disasters, huge excess deaths and huge drop in fertility. Very high miscarriages, infertility.
On the other hand, Africa has extremely low vaxxed percentage, low infections, low deaths. Simple verifiable facts, not "experts say" "some say more" "preliminary studies say". Rubbish.
Campbell has been a very highly respected and published professional for many years. I would not recommend defaming him.

        • Like most of your kind you're a classic cherry picker. Happy to accept data and information where it seems to fit your opinion and dismissing it where it points out your ignorance.

Time you did some reading on statistics. First lesson - correlation is not causation. Look it up and educate yourself. Suffice to say that your attempt at African correlation is commensurate with your knowledge. 100% of all covid fatalities in Africa apparently also drank water and breathed air. Simple enough for you?

Campbell was a nurse. His PhD was completely unrelated to medical science, and he clearly has the same level of statistical competence as you. As a former health professional he should and does know better than to intentionally mislead credulous people by not giving the whole picture and painting a picture which as yet has no basis. I'm sure like all smart adults you'll keep following the science to see what it says in a year or two, and won't ignore the mountains of evidence about vaccine efficacy. Sadly, pigs will fly first.

          • @Igaf: NSW is now stopping reports on hospitalised Vax status because 100% of recent hospital admissions and ICU admissions are Vaxxed. Yes 100%. The more doses the worse the outcomes. You can look this up in the official NSW data.

            https://twitter.com/Fisherlady111/status/1609602450549506049…

There are so many sources for observed serious adverse events including death in the TGA data, the US VAERS database, the US military database, the European EudraVigilance database. People reading this do not have to look far. It's an IQ test.

As for Campbell, in every video and report he does, he refers to the factual studies he reports on and statistics from official sources. He says every time you don't have to take his word for it. Here's his youtube channel for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/@Campbellteaching

Your response is empty rhetoric. Boost up!

            • @trevor99:

NSW is now stopping reports on hospitalised Vax status because 100% of recent hospital admissions and ICU admissions are Vaxxed. Yes 100%. The more doses the worse the outcomes. You can look this up in the official NSW data.

"Vaccination status of cases admitted to hospital, admitted to ICU and those who die will no longer be reported. These data were included from 2021 when vaccines were first rolled out to monitor trends in the relationship between vaccination and outcomes. With most of the population having received at least two doses of vaccine and there being differences in timings of booster dosing across different age groups, the trends between vaccines and outcomes cannot be interpreted using these data. (in simple terms that means they will not compare oranges to mandarines).
              • We will continue to work closely with the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance to determine local estimates of vaccine effectiveness through formal data linkage processes and analyses which account for age, previous infection, underlying illness and other factors that impact on these

Your misunderstanding of current numbers and ignorance of elementarry statistics has been dealt with many times, in the media and here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13208831/redir
Here's a simple (related) test for you. 100 people are hospitalised with covid. Of those 100, 95 were vaccinated. Assuming vaccines were totally ineffective, what percentage of the population were vaccinated?

There are adverse events for every medicine, and these are not ignored by medical specialists or epidemiologists. For example, the whole point of CMO/ATAGI advice in this country was based on risk V reward, hence advice that certain age groups shouldn't get vaxxed, some cohorts don't need 3rd boosters, people under 60, or with particular conditions shouldn't get AZ etc.

Even though UK statistics showed that surviving covid infection gave stronger protection than having one vax shot (being vaxxed AND having had covid gave even greater protection statistically) there were many reasons why "herd immunity" wasn't considered as a public health solution. These included: the effects on health systems, the lack of knowledge about covid immunity (still not fully understood), the very high transmissibilty, and obviously the mortality rates.

Despite your self-imposed ignorance covid vaccines have proved extremely effective in reducing the severity of illness, the likelihood of hospitalisation, and the likelihood of death. That won't change by shutting your eyes or sticking your head where the sun don't shine.

I watched Campbell's video and I read the summary of the pre-print report he referred to. Campbell intentionally left out all the assumptions, gaps in data, and advice regarding caution wrt conclusions by the authors. As I said, as a former health professional he should know better because he was deliberately leading ignorant and gullible people up the garden path.

There's myriad reports, summaries and papers attempting to interpret covid data for the public good. They're freely available. I'd suggest you spend time at least reading the summaries and conclusions but you'll need to offload your obvious biases and open your mind first.

              • @Igaf: People can read this discussion carefully to decide who is pushing worthless rhetoric and generalisations, complete with cut and paste opinion.

You can watch John Campbell's channel https://www.youtube.com/@Campbellteaching for endless facts all referenced, see for yourself.
You can look at excess deaths from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and ask yourself why.
You can look at the excessive (massive) numbers of adverse event reports from official bodies from many countries.
                Do your own research.

Remember you must give your consent before they can spike you with their experiments.
Think carefully about whether to take any more. Look around and see anecdotally who is well and who is sick.

This is a Darwin Award trial and it's you and your family's lives we're taking about. It's up to you good luck.

                • @trevor99: Campbell may be a step up from Trump, Kelly and others but he is NOT a medical expert, nor is he an epidemiologist, nor is he statistically literate. There are tens of thousands of better sources of covid information.

You can look at excess deaths from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and ask yourself why.

I don't need to ask why, I know the answer already because I've read numerous summaries from around the globe AND I'm moderately statistically literate. Overall you are FAR more likely to be hospitalised and/or die from coivid if you are unvaxxed. This risk is reduced for some unvaxxed people if they have developed antibodies as a result of contracting disease.

You can look at the excessive (massive) numbers of adverse event reports from official bodies from many countries.

Links? There are NOT "massive" numbers of significant adverse events resulting from vaccines, unless you deceptively attempt to include minor expected reactions, which are rarely reported in the data in any case. Health officials have diligently reported on such things in many "advanced" countries, providing us with important information so we can make informed decisions and understand risks. Deja vu, but as I said above, and medical experts around the world have advised since covid vaccines were developed, vaccination greatly reduces the risks of serious illness and death.

Speaking of adverse events. No comment on the risks of mycarditis from covid V a vaccine? Not surprised because that has already been ascertained and documented by age group, and the numbers aren't pretty for you anti-vaxxers.

The irony of an anti-vaxxer commenting about Darwin Awards is delicious. Willful ignorance is a dangerous disease which has led to thousands of unnecessary deaths during the pandemic, especially in the benighted US of A. People encouraging and enabling that ignorance are culpable in that outcome.

Had a go at solving that simple statistical test I set yet? There's an obvious lesson there if like Eightimmortals you haven't grasped basic statistics.

                  • @Igaf: When they can't answer the message, they attack the messenger, in this case John Campbell no less notwithstanding all of his reporting is simply referencing facts from studies and official sources. It's a link fest over there.

Take note, read carefully and think. Filter out in propaganda and weak opinion. Your life may depend on it.

                    • @trevor99: That study hasn't even been peer-reviewed. You may not understand why that's critical but Campbell should. Studies are rarely "facts". They may be reasonable indicators or they may simply represent the limitations of the study and/or the misuse of tools used for validating statistical data. Plenty of studies (appear to) contradict one another - ie they arrive at different conclusions because of different data, they looked at different influences, had different (stricter) controls, and one had better supervision/guidance.

No doubt plenty of medical scientists will be interested in the final peer-reviewed study.

Btw your bs about very high infertility and miscarriages which I glossed over is also rubbish - something you'd know if you bothered to search and read. Raw total mortality rates are also meaningless without context. At least learn to use deaths per 100,000 population as a starting point.

It's one thing to be scared of or even cautious regarding a covid vax needle, entirely another to be a regurgitator of arrant nonsense.

                      • @Igaf: In every video he specifically and carefully states which govt agency the statistics come from, or where the study comes from and whether it is yet to be peer reviewed. You are misdirecting and lying to people who don't bother to look for themselves. Then you throw is nasty personal insults for effect. Everything I said here is verifiable. I see you.

                        • @trevor99: Which lies were they? Feel free to elaborate.

The simple fact is that Campbell knows his viewers won't understand the significance of the pre-print status, otherwise he'd have waited for the final peer-reviewed study. He obviously got you in (and undoubtedly plenty of others easily confounded by technical terms and ignorant of what studies do and don't mean), which on its own shows bad faith. That he failed to mention the large list of caveats documented by the authors even before peer review is a red flag to any professional. That he started out by poo pooing a wide range of credible health agencies is yet another. He may be your hero but he's a charlatan who makes money from dupes.

                          "John Campbell
Campbell is a popular YouTube host with more than 2.6 million subscribers to his channel. Campbell is not a physician but a retired emergency department nurse. According to the About section of his YouTube channel, his Ph.D. "focused on the development of open learning resources for nurses nationally and internationally." Since starting his channel in 2007, he has posted thousands of videos on a variety of medical topics but has focused primarily on COVID since the start of the pandemic, promoting unproven treatments like ivermectin, spreading misleading death statistics minimizing the number of victims and misinterpreting data about vaccine safety."

His disclaimer is a rare display of honesty:
