Already this price on Steam, so perhaps not a terribly good bargain, but I suppose the variety of formats is good.

It's also normally $9.99 on Steam. The price has been reduced to $4.99 on Steam and their website.

And so? It was reduced by 50% for the Summer Sale. Since it was already this price on Steam this is hardly a bargain - more suited to the forums. What's more, Steam actually gives a date for the end of the sale, instead of just 'For a Limited Time'

I'd prefer to buy it from here because this is the official site of the movie — meaning that the developers will get hundred percent of the money. No need for Steam to be the middleman.

        • I'm guessing they are doing the sale on their site to offer a DRM free version while the Steam sale is on. They will probably go back to $9.99 when the Steam Sale ends.

I think its great that the filmmakers would get most, if not all, of the profit. But the fact of the matter is, that the documentary was already this price elsewhere - therefore not really a bargain. So that's why, I think, it'd be better off in the forums.

        • This deal has not been posted or mentioned in the Steam Summer Sale post so this isn't a dupe. This post covers both their website and the Steam sale and as far as I can tell, they both started at or around the same time (11/12 July) so it isn't exactly "already this price elsewhere".

This deal has not been posted or mentioned in the Steam Summer Sale post

Just because it isn't specifically mentioned by the Steam post, doesn't mean it isn't covered by it. It would be somewhat problematic to list every single discount in the Summer Sale, wouldn't you think?

so it isn't exactly "already this price elsewhere".

I meant that, since it was already part of the Summer Sale, for which a post already exists, then this one, which was made at a later date, may be unnecessary. I was just voicing my opinion on the deal's usefulness, is all - though I can see that it may be better off, for some people, to buy from the site.

        • I wouldn't have even noticed this deal if it weren't for this post.

It's a documentary not a game, and I didn't see it nor would have expected to see it in the Steam sale post.

I think it's definitely warranted to have it's own post.

  • damn, got it for full price last week, still happy to support them

Had no idea this doco existed, so thanks for the bargain and info.

  • very much worth $5 of your money whether you play video games or not.

    • And definitely must see if you develop video games :)

  • Not sure if it's bargain but it's a really interesting movie, definitely worth seeing.

  • It is an awesome documentary, really enjoyed it.
