        Undergraduate Certificate in Fermentation

        Cheers

Just gimme some lentils and I'm a walking fermentation bio-lab.

          Practical component = completed.

        • Out of curiosity can we attend some classes at the campus too or are these just some bogus online courses ?
Specially courses like undergraduate certificate in fermentation ?

          • +1

@glenf: Click the course and it will show attendance options

          • +1

@glenf: I attended online but we often joined a class that was at campus via Zoom so you could go to campus if you wanted to - but I am not sure if that was for all of the unit..or in other courses. If you look at the units in the course they will tell you if they are available on campus as well.

Does this count towards the Student learning entitlement (SLE) where there is a cap of 7 years of full-time subsidised study?

      • Yes. All CSP courses are.

    • +1

I'm guessing you still need to pay the SSAF fee for this course? ($326 year)

        • The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) for 2023 is $48.90 per 12.5 credit point unit of study,

Not a crazy amount to pay.

Saw this on the Applied Tech course under the section "Fee Waiver Details":
"For domestic students commencing study in 2023, we are pleased to offer this degree with a 100% HECS and SSAF fee waiver."
So no SSAF fee either, by the looks of it.

    • There's alot of fee free courses, I'm interested in construction management diploma but it's 2.5 years in campus 20 hours a week, and the degree is 3 years.

So I don't know wtf Tafe are doing nationally.

      • Talk to the Uni and show them the TAFE Course and ask the Uni how many credits they will give you if you finish the TAFE course first but then want to upgrade through the Uni to get your degree, and how long that will take.
Sounds like a good course to do. Just ask both lots of questions like qualifications and experience of lecturers/tutors, how much practical experience they organise for you

        • Max 1 year credit from my understanding.

          So that's still 2.5 + 2 = 4.5 years.

You should be able to do it online at your own pace.

I would of liked to see more certs in estimating, contract administration available.

That way people finish in 12 months and join the workforce.

    • Okay, nevermind.

Be careful, nothing is free- eg. it may cost you the chance to do another government subsidised course in the future when you really need it- so make sure you find out how much of future opportunity lost this course may cost you.
Someone asked about the Student Learning Entitlement above and Caps on the amount of Subsidised study the Government allocates- look it up before you enrol in just anything cos courses are EXPENSIVE and you may need one FREE in the Future.

    • Applied Technologies - Learn how to code in Python.

    • How do the exams at the end of the semester work?

      • There are no exams in the courses that I listed from University College, There were 3 assessment tasks in each unit. The last one was worth the most of my grade.

        • Oh these 4 courses are assessment based? Cheers/

Hi OP, just a heads up that this is a duplicate post or should be merged

    • Hi,
Do you mean that you got a place in education at the university of Tasmania? Do you live in Tasmania?

Does anyone know if the 2 units would count for any other university? That's z huge decision to study in Tasmania if you don't live there.

      • I live in Darwin. I'm about to start the second year of the Diploma of Sustainability. As far as I know the units would count at any university.
The course is all online. The only thing I find hard is making the online tutorials with the time difference. It's no big deal as you can watch them at a later date once they are uploaded

    • The fermentation course looks like fun.

  • Does anyone know how to download the Windows 10 server on the platform? I could not find it on Azure

How does this work if you work 9-5? (All the study options even for online are during work hours), are they able to be rewatched/replayed?

  • So you do still need to submit the HECS-HELP thing? It said I had to before I could enrol so I did, but they won't charge me will they?

  • Does this give you a student email? Can you do a short course and get one?
