LG 31.5 Inch UltraFine UHD 4K Ergo IPS Monitor 32UN88A-W $649.99 Delivered @ Costco (Membership Required)

210

Just received the email from Costco.

Cannot compare to the Kogan price error price, but still a very good price on this monitor.

Also this Seville Classics airLIFT Electric Height Adjustable Standing Desk $449.98 delivered seems a good price table even compare to OW's ones. This table looks have better quality.

How much was the Kogan price error price and if any of the orders were honoured?

      • +2

Yeah only 1 lucky member got OW to price match Kogan before realising it was a price error.

        • Ah wistfully reminiscing not bothering to race in store to price match and missing out

Think we got Kogan credit though

          .

Now if only KoganMuzeeb would make the LG UltraFine OLED Pro drop to these prices

People do other things than gaming, like what this monitor is designed for, work, general purpose, light photo/video work.

      • +3

        Depends how fast you work.

    • +1

Perfect for photo editing. Don't need 240hz for that.

Good comment. Helps me, means i don't need to look any further.

I have this among with a whole bunch of other monitors, at this price if you want an IPS panel, this one is it in Australia still.

Great color, great for office use, best of IPS features. Has usb-c.

There is nothing much around this price and quality/features competing. Sure there are way cheaper VA’s but yeah VA panel, sure better pro monitors but they are VERY expensive.

    • I would an extra few hundred for the dell one which is 144hz

      • You would what an extra few hundred??

      • I have both, if you intend to game, and game online and play FPS, has a fiber connection with great latency and a fantastic GPU, especially if you are gonna attempt at 4k you better have a 4080 +

THEN, yes I agree with you. Those are some long list of ‘if’s if you ask me though.

That said, yeah if you have the spare cash and that screen is around $800, sure by all means, they are very comparable…

I have one. It is good.

But I had to buy a new desk to use it. The stand has a clamp to attach it to the desk. So make sure your desk has a good edge that can support the stand and monitor!

    • The clamp is a dealbreaker.

      • Could also be good if comparing to $ high-end VESA mounts + clamps bought separately

Would not mount it to the glass top of one of the costco sit-stand desks linked in the post description though

  • I have the LG 5k Ultrafine display its the thunderbolt only monitor Just wondering if this is the same thing but only 4k and with normal ports?

    • Pretty much. This one is newer and has standard ports including USB-C, plus of course the Ergo stand is different (much better) than a basic monitor stand.

    • It’s a bit lower ppi, and I am going to go ahead and guess you have a Mac.

4k screens at this PPI aren’t native Mac resolutions, 5k screen scale 1:2 and use the screen as 2,5k which is a native Mac resolution.

So it won’t quite look as good with some software elements, but it won’t be bad. I have a Mac, it does fine but to use it at 4k you have to be very close so I usually end up scaling up a bit and it looks fine to me.

Anyone know if OW price beats CostCo?

  • Note that this is just 138ppi so its clearly not "UltraFine".

Make sure to read ppimaniac's review on the product page to get a better sense of the ppi of this monitor: https://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-32un880-b

Not many 5K monitors in this price bracket though.

      • Its not 5K, has a very low PPI therefore its not even UltraFine is all I'm saying.
Its definitely a good buy for some but just be aware that text would look crappy and pixelated on Mac from up close.

      • I have the LG ultrafine 5K its a thunderbolt only display with P3 of 99% colours and its a thunderbolt only display for editing its dream for creators 5k monitors are very useful. Being able to see a full 4k resolution video or image and still ahve space for all your tools on teh screen to edit is a god send. no more operating on 2 screens you can do it all on one. difference though its night and day we are talking about a 1500 dollar monitor vs this 4k monitor. You can't really compare the 2.

    Wow fancy designs
Wooden touch interface (ruh roh) and drawers

There is a glass top one (the black one is also Glass Top without the keyword in the product title, on reading the description) so you can shatter your ergo monitor clamps

Feels like the Seville Classics airLIFT line should get their own OzBargain post for us to tear it apart / rate

Oh some models have been cheaper before

    Fancy smaller designs

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/677494

Batches of previous models apparently did not have pre-drilled holes… Would expect the instructions to also be well-refined in line with their branding; Otherwise may as well opt for cheaper customised options

  • Desk is meh - 2 stage legs makes for limited adjustment range.
