Any Risk in Buying an iPhone 14 Pro with Free Apple Watch/AirPods Pro from Facebook Marketplace?

My old iPhone is gone, so have to get a new one. The iPhone 14 Pro 256GB itself will cost $1899 from Apple store, but found lots of posts in market place selling around $1,300 to $1,500 with FREE apple watch or Airpods Pro, which is much cheaper. Would anyone advise if there is any risk here? Many thanks.

    none whatsoever.

just pre-post your "I got scammed on Scumtree/etc" post… just getting ahead of the curve and save some sometime.

It's a scam. Scammers are posting fake work from home job ads in local Facebook community groups and asking you to contact them on Facebook Messenger. The "job" is to post these cheap iPhone listings on Facebook Marketplace. After you message the seller they will take your money and your iPhone 14 doesn't get delivered.

Purchase from Apple, JB Hi-Fi, Officeworks, Telstra store etc.

But won't be the bargain OP is after tho… but a sensible choice.

I think OP should give it a go, and let us know if there were any risks. /s

      • Apple and bargain don't go in the same sentence.

Rarely you might find a good deal. but usually they are scams.
Check the iPhone and pay cash, you could be getting a good deal.

  • Merged from iPhone 14 Pro - Facebook Marketplace

I’m finding a lot of sellers on Facebook listing brand new iPhone 14 Pro for $1,300 and throwing in free AirPods. Is there a way to find if I am getting a legit phone (does the serial number on product help?)

I’ve always gone by “if it sounds dodgy it probably is” while buying. But just wanted to check if the ozb community had a different opinion about these deals.

      Dont

Fakes, I remember seeing the same deals when looking for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Also stay away from 'brand new, sealed' boxes on FB Marketplace.

Based on the timing, they could be tax write offs. seems like a lot of work for couple of hundred $$$…

      • This scam has been going on for years. They are not tax write offs.

    • 5 minutes later, i got scammed on facebook how to recover money

    • The phone doesn't exist. Common Facebook Marketplace scam.
