Downside is these aren’t freshly roasted. Ordered some from last deal and it was 4 weeks old

    • Good to know. Thanks.
Any recommendations for freshly roasted well priced beans? I've used Airjo in the past and have been quite happy with them but wouldn't be opposed to trying some other roasters.

Try bay beans. James is great.

        Lime blue is also great.

Inglewood. Very happy with them and you’ll notice they’re much nicer than airjo.

    • Didn't know that, thanks, I'll pay attention to the dates when I receive them.

  • Anyone ordered the coffee capsules recently and know what the use by date is like?

I've asked them on their website but they may not get back to me before the sale ends.

Last time I ordered the beans were good, but not good enough to pay the insane premium. They were also too old for me, about 4-5 weeks, which is already 1-2 weeks past when I like them.

  • The messages got me worried as I ordered 6 bags of their single origin during this fire sale - $24 bags were going for around $14.

I called them regarding freshness of roast and they said they do not sell anything that is more than 7 days old - and that were was a printing error in their previous black friday sale in november where coffee roast was labeled incorrectly even though it was recently roasted - they sent replacement bags for customers nonetheless.

If the coffee is several weeks old I will definitely ask for a refund as that is no standard for speciality coffee, in melbourne no less.

From the dozens of speciality roasters i have been ordered from in sydney/melbroune since covid started - the bags are always raosted within the past 7 days, 10 days at most- as roasters always have a day of the week they roast, after which they dispatch their coffee (usually Tuesday or Thursday for most roasters).

They should in no circumstance be sending you the old bags off the shelf in their store display that are several weeks old - then they should not be marketing as speciality coffee.

I just received the 2kgs I bought through this deal and the beans were roasted on 16/1, so they are much fresher then I was expecting reading the comments above.

  • Mine just came through today and all roasted on 18/01 - so it does seem like it is all roasted fresh upon order thankfully.
