Normally would’ve gotten this but the comments on dishy tablets from everyone saw me try Aldi and there is no turning back now

    • -4

What are you trying at Aldi?

      • +39

Obviously not the dishwashing tablets. That would be too obvious…

    • +2

Yeah, once you go aldi you don't go back , for $60 you can wash dishes twice a day for 2 years

      • 730 tablets for $60?

        • +6

You don't need any tablets if you are washing dishes.

        • 730 tablets for $60.

Twice a day for 2 years is more like 1460 tablets.

    • Which one from aldi?

      • +5

Not OP but I've been using the Logix Platinum tablets for a quite a while now across a few different houses and dishwashers and it's been fine for me. I usually pick up a box of 100 once a year and it lasts me until the next time the special buy is on.

        • -3

Why do you dishwasher multiple houses?

    • +5

I’m currently trying Logix Platinum 18 in 1 ($0.19 ea).
Two days so far and cannot tell the difference between Finish Quantum Ultimate Pro at this stage.

      • update: five days now still can't tell the difference.
if there had to be something then Logix has less frangrance, which is a bonus for me.
We are washing quite a bit of baby stuff in there, mainly plastics, and usually somehow "traps" fragrance.
        Very happy so far.

Saw some reviews saying the standard Logix doesn't work as well as the platinum, keep your eyes out when purchasing.

The comments are slamming aldi for taking a nosedive in the last year, overall. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731653

    • @RDY4ME, this your mate?

      • We flipped a coin for who got each account name.

    • 14c per dish biscuit. Love the things. If a deal beats that, I buy it, but almost never

First Quantum tablet deal of the year! Works out to 25c per tablet without using any coupon code.

    Not the first.

$50 for 400 tablets last week. (12.5c per tablet)

I bought these a week ago and they arrived with a best before date of June 2023… just in case anyone interested in them cares about it. I’m hoping they will still work effectively for at least a year after that best before date as I’m definitely not getting through 320 in less than 6 months.

    • Finish FAQ says the below. I wonder when your tablets were manufactured. I guess they just don't want people stockpiling.

The standard shelf life of dishwasher tablets is two years but it’s best not to stockpile Finish products in case the product and its packaging deteriorates over time.

While using an out-of-date dishwasher tablet isn’t going to cause any damage to your kitchenware or dishwasher, it may be less effective than when used within the correct timeframe.

The box shows they were manufactured in June 2021 so they did get given a 2 year life, I’m guessing either Mydeal has been stockpiling or they got sent older stock perhaps?!? Hopefully Finish just says that because they want to ensure continued sales and the product will be fine for quite a bit of time after the BB. Fingers crossed

  • Does Aldi sell dishwashing powder?

    • Yes they do

    • They do, but at my local they only had it in a plastic bottle. I was hoping for a cardboard box…

    • +1

Why do people down vote simple questions? C'mon people.

  • what are people getting for $5.05 to reach $75

    • I tried to add $6 stickers for the kids but shipping increased to $20

  • Are these tablets individually wrapped? Or can I just throw straight in?

    • +1

      Throw it straight in

    • We use individual wrapped at the office. I hate them. Just leave them unwrapped people, the dolphins have enough plastic to eat

  • +4

Got the $10 off using the app to buy with code SHOPAPP. Didn’t need to add stuff to $75

    • Did the same. Thanks.

    • Thanks. Did this too. I happened to be looking at these only 24 hours ago but held off buying, so the discount is a bonus!
Only $6.95 shipping to Melb for me.
      $66.90 total after discount.

    • You're a champ! Adding other items for the other code just ended up increasing the postage cost…

I reported it to the mods to update the description.

  • How do these compare to the Powerball Quantum Ultimate?

    • +1

So I don’t know the answer for sure, but I think I’ve tried both and haven’t noticed a difference. I’m now trying to find cheaper powder, however, after watching a Technology Connections video about dishwasher tablets and powders :)

Basically, go check the ingredients. They are likely to be the same!

Tablets are only suggested in dishwasher manuals as part of a paid placement :(. This made me so sad when I read it in my own bosch manual :(. Feels so much like a scam now.

      • +1

In completely non OZB behaviour, I am now just throwing a tablet in the bottom as well as in the dispenser after watching that about a year ago.

Having said that I am also running the cheapest tablets I can lay hands on…

      • +2
      • Is there a powder to recommend that meets OZB standards of thrift and performance?

        • Aldi is good IMO. Someone mentioned Coles tablet/capsule.

  • +3

I used to use tablets and one day I needed some and Aldi only had powder…. don't thank me now but powder is much cheaper and does exactly the same job as a tablet does. If you have to unwrap your tablets then there is no convenance difference either.

  • +2

i used the cheap coles one and no going back. they compare to mid-range tablets but at 6c each everyday price.

  • Another vote for Logix Platinum at Aldi. Usually around 14c per tablet and they work just as well as Finish.

  • +1

Hoooo boy. Reviews on the trader here (mydeal) are…..hoo boy. Have a look for yourself, is all I can say.

  • Can anyone explain to me the difference between these products and what is sold in Coles / Woolworths? I know they are made overseas, but as these meant to be sold in different regions other than Australia and the online stores get offered surplus stock at cheap prices which they then sell in bulk?
I'm trying to compare like with like (which is not easy).
    TIA
