  • I like these Baseus devices, bought one thank you.

20Ah is too small capacity for 65w delivery. Unless of course you buy 2 of them…Ping! Light dawns on marble head.

    • +1

Why? Wouldn't it still be able to charge a Steam Deck 3-4 times?

      • +2

No. About 1.8x in theory but more like 1.5x in practice, accounting for efficiency losses.

      • +2

Nah it's 74 wh. Steam deck battery is 40wh. So 3.35v battery at 75% conversion efficiency would be around 15000 mah. So about 1.4 times charge on steam deck. I can confirm this as I have a onexplayer with 15600mah battery and I can only charge it about 1.5 times with 30000mah baseus and about 1.9 times with 40000 mah romoss.

        • +2

Can confirm that it could charge roughly 1.2-1.4 times for the Steam Deck.

          • @Grey 13: Thanks. I didn't realise these things were that inefficient

            • @chromium: Not really. This one is defo the go-to battery bank for Deck owners. However mine for whatever reason didn't seem to be able to hold a charge while playing as the Deck classified it as a slow charger.

              • +1

@Grey 13: I meant in general, not this particular one :) That's strange. The Deck can be weird, sometimes it says my Anker 735 is a slow charger.

            • +2

@chromium: Yeah this is standard stuff. Dont buy into mAh. just do the maths in your head multiplying by 75% for loss and divide that by 2 for 3.35 to 7.7

Taking ages to charge, doesn't take long to drain

Honestly i thought baseus is going but disappointed, didn't try big brands like Samsung. So sorry……

    • Slow charge isn't a bad thing. It means the battery should last a bit longer. You need to get a bigger powerbank if you need to recharge before the day ends.

  • Up to $4.69 cheaper (with eBay Plus) compared to the previous deal they had back in late Dec last year https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748421

  • What's with the 'Rated Capacity' being only 12000mAh? Is that saying it'll only discharge 12Ah of usable power (due to undervoltage protection) even though the actual cell capacity is 20Ah @ 3.7v?

Trying to determine if there's some 'creative numerical interpretation' being applied as with so many cheap Chinese devices.

[email protected] but it output 5V so it's only 14.8Ah@5V, also charging at maximum 5V6A reduces the efficiency due to heat. They listed it at over 75% energy convervsion rate so 12Ah sounds about right.

  • rather pay $20 more for the 100W ($74+)

Interestingly, this powerbank has what seems to be an undocumented PD/QC reset function, FWIW.

From the "off" state, quickly click the side button 5 times. You should see "UP" on the display. Click again, and the charging will resume even if had automatically stopped before.

Does anyone know anything about this feature?
