Cyberpunk is awesome though, have you played it recently?
I will, as chances are the price will dip between when you preorder it and when it is released and Amazon will amend the price to reflect the new one automatically. If it doesn't meet your expectations, you can return it for free with Amazon returns. If it does meet your expectations, you might have paid less than on release day or subsequent weeks after release.
Buying a game on release day = pre ordering

It was a fun, polished, massive, well-optimised juggernaut of a game. Endless fun with level editors and hundreds of characters and so on. Multiplayer. Hugely successful.
So there's definitely some hope there.

Based on the new norm (in-game content being charged separately at extortionate prices), I am having a feeling Epic might give away the base game for free soon.
Cheaper option would be to wait a year and buy a second-hand copy for half price or less.
Or just wait for daddy Sweeney to give us the game for free.

What are the chances at getting JB Hi-Fi to price match this? I've pre-ordered it there to be certain I can play it on the morning of release.

I have the JB Exclusive version pre-ordered with pin badge set and the online chat person said they can't price match that version due to the pin badge set. So would need to cancel that pre-order and get the version without pin badge set, which can be price matched. Annoying…

For me the key reason is getting the game 3 days early. It sucks that there is product tiering but alas it is the world we live in. Also you may potentially just purchase the dark arts pack separately down the track if you have the standard edition, so there could be merit to doing it now and the overall package ending up cheaper.

Oh I didn't realise I was getting downvoted! I thought it was a valid reason :/ (I am incredibly excited to play this game - it is like a dream come true for me, so knowing/seeing thousands of other people playing it while I wait 3 days to jump in would be drive me nuts!)
Bargain! Already had it ordered on Amazon at $99. As per any drop my price has auto been updated to the lower price. :) Can’t freakin wait for this game. Definitely work going the deluxe at this price over the standard given the dark arts DLC and 3 day early access. The DLC is able to be purchased separately if you get the standard but from memory I think they said it’ll be about $10-$15usd? So will work out cheaper going this than the standard + DLC.
Does normally the extra content comes in a single-use code or is it included in the disk?

Not just cosmetics. Also the dark arts battle room DLC. Kind of like a wave based combat section. Which can be bought separately but is more than the cost of this deal vs the standard edition.
Ngl, as someone with no interest in this game at all, it'd be way funnier to me given the long dev time, anticipation and political ruckus surrounding it if it were just a legitimately woeful game

I have done it a few times and you can play a game straight away at release, enjoy it and then sell it same price (if you got a good deal at launch) or $10 - $20 cheaper.
So you end up paying between $0 and $20 without having to wait a year to play the game.
I preordered the standard edition in March, 2022 ($79.90).. and thought $8 extra for an arena and deluxe version is prob worth it.. so cancelled that preorder and jumped to this one. Thanks OP.
Yeah I was the same, had standard pre ordered for the longest time but jumped on this. I thought it was just cosmetcis but turns out it also includes a wave based combat area.

As much as I plan to play this game, I refuse to pre-order games, We have been taught time and time again that this is a bad business model but still morons keep falling for it.
Amazon doesn’t charge until it ships and has 30 day refunds. I preorder all my games with them as you’re guaranteed to get the lowest price. If it drops for even a minute in its entire preorder time, you get the lowest price automatically. And if it sucks send it back.
