      • aoc isn’t the same as epp tho?

Time to line up the ducks….

    • Everyday Rewards bonus points on Apple Gift Cards
    • Then wait for upscaled Cashrewards
    • Salary Sacrifice through work
    • How much cash back on apple gift cards do CR usually give on upsize? I can get 5% off right now not sure if that’s good?

      • How are you able to get 5%? I can only get 1.5% right now. Upsized cashback has generally been 8% or 10% but with a $100 cap.

        • Employer

          • @evasive: Sorry misread I thought you were referring to cashback from Cashrewards on the Apple Store. When upsized it goes to 8% to 10%. Your best bet for apple gift cards is woolies/coles when they run 20x points, it equates to 10% off. You can then use those gift cards with upsized cashback from Cashrewards for even more savings

    • Nice summary,
what kind of upscaled Cashrewards you are waiting for to trigger?

      • I think it's sometimes 8% with a cap ($100) or then the next day 5% with no cap?

        • do they upsize it in JAN and FEB?

Then also claim TRS (if possible)

    • Exactly what I’m waiting for. Lol.

  • why is this deal 50$ more expensive with the airpods that the other deal with out airpods? i thought the airpods were a free bonus? (https://www.apple.com/au_edu_5000447/shop/buy-mac/macbook-ai…)

AOC store vs general apple edu store, slightly different prices.

  • Apple seems to have upped their price on some products, the base 24″ iMac is now $1999, it was $1899 only a couple of month ago. Amazon still shows $1899 as the RRP. Not sure if they did the same for other products though.

  • is there any provision for upcoming discounted Apple giftcard from Coles or Woolies in upcoming weeks within the promotion period of Apple Back to school deal please? So i can wait. I didn't buy enough giftcard from Woolies which ended yesterday. Thought that im gonna buy an ipad pro but changed mind & want to buy a Macbook pro which mean i'm short nearly $2k of gift card.

Do you know when is this promotion going to end?

    • +4

Did you check on the expiry at the bottom of the description (above the report button)

    • +4

      Read the description, my friend

  • So really if you dont need the airpods its better to buy from AOC store with the extra discount.

  • Does being a Tafe student meet the eligibilty critera for the education store? The wording seems vague.

Yes, you can combine with discounted Apple gift card and wait for increased cashback to sweeten the deal. Always great to hear families support each other when needed.

Has anyone tried to return the Airpods for a refund? As we pay full price for the Airpods, I think it should just be a normal return?

Additionally, if I pay with gift cards and my debit card, which payment method will the refund go to?

    • +5

The AirPods are free with this deal so you can't get a refund for something you haven't paid for.

      • +1

When checking out, it seems like I'm paying full price for the Airpods?

Try it and let us know lol

        • Total savings $219 you are getting them for free..

    • I would be interested to know for sure.

The Mac I purchased has the Mac listed for $2000 and the AirPods listed separately at $200.

  • -1

Can I return the mac and just keep airpods 🙃

  • Anyone knows if Cashrewards will upsize their apple cashback in JAN or FEB, I don't know if I shall by a Mac now or wait out ???

    • I'm going to wait a while because last year Cashrewards did the 10% cash back un to $100 minus GST around the 1st. March which is when I bought an iPad for family and received the free AirPods.

  • Has anyone purchased from the AOC website before and do the ask for ID or proof?

    • Never been asked for ID and usually make one MacBook Pro purchase per year via AOC.

      • does the interest free option still work?

on the regular store, they usually just call you later that day for the GE card number. wonder if they’ll take that opportunity to confirm your student/teacher id? i suspect not, as it’s usually just the finance team calling.

  • +1

Went to apple store today no one asked for any identification for being a teacher, bought online store pickup, in and out

    • Was this at the AOC price and did you get the airpods free too?

      • it was the AOC price and did get the air pods

        • Did the airpods show up on your invoice? I can't seem to add free airpods on the AOC website

        • Can you link the AOC website you used. Also what product did you buy?

        • How did you get airpods with AOC pricing?

          • @lc0: sorry I went through the link above, no proof needed, the airpods were on final invoice, couldn't see them until payment is complete
Message prior to final check out:
"Savings on your order will be applied to your bag at check-out and your invoice will show savings on the eligible product."

            • @girafficlight: interesting, thats weird that it doesnt show until after payment

              • @lc0: Is has an option to upgrade the airpods though, so you have a feeling they are in there somewhere

                • @girafficlight: how did you actually add the airpods? because for me the AOC store doesn't prompt you to add airpods unlike the education store

                  • @lc0: I didn't just clicked link and paid

                    • @girafficlight: When I add a macbook pro to AOC store and add to bag i am getting a prompt to add airpods to bag, but theyre all greyed out so I cant select anything apart from "no thanks"

                      • @colt75: weird how the airpods prompt doesn’t show up for the m1 air, also strange the options are greyed out

                        • @lc0: Im not sure how the above got it to work.
I even tried adding the airpods separately after but its added at full price with no discount.

                          • @colt75: @colt75 He didn't, he said he clicked the link above and paid. Which means he didn't go through AOC but just the normal Apple Edu store which the promotion is running on.

  • I’ve been waiting for Apple’s back to school promotion to see if somehow, by the off chance the Watch Ultras were discounted on the Education store or at least eligible for a bonus but no luck ☹️

Lol I knew this was likely but I’d already purchased its value in Apple gift cards from Coles recently (during the effective 10% off/20x Flybuys points promo - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/748819) and so would’ve been awesome to get even more value than the $1169.10 I’ve calculated ($1299 - effective 10% ($129.90) ) I can get it for.

Now I’m not sure if I should stack again with one of the cashback apps (only just gotten into and probably not all that concerned to be honest), waiting on their larger percentage back deals to come on? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Lol I just wanna buy the watch already!

  • I can confirm though that THIS DEAL IS THE BEST Apple sale IF you intend to buy an iPad or Mac AND you are eligible for Education discount AND you’re also keen on the bonus they’re offering (AirPods this year (as was 2022) or other (eg. gift cards 2021)).

I’ve made the same mistake two years running not waiting on this back to school special! Last year I even wrote myself a note in my phone for Apple sales but had forgotten about it! 🤦🏻‍♂️

In October 2021 I bought my new MBP 14” with the education discount BUT had I waited a few months until January 2022, I could’ve got some near enough to free/minimal price AirPods 3 (which I wanted, or at least wanted coz they were finally a price I was happy to pay for) lol damn 🙃

And during Black Friday sales just gone, I bought an iPad Pro 11” 256GB WiFi for $1430 from eBay (after promo BF promo code) which was $59 better than the Education discount price, so bought it without much thought (like I said, I had forgotten the note I had wrote myself) about the upcoming back to school sale, thinking I was already getting the best deal I’m likely to get!

I hadn’t at that stage quite gotten right into the full-blown OzBargainer spirit yet of chasing the best bargain to the nth degree (stacking with gift cards or using cashback apps etc.). I didn’t actually really need the iPad straight away and so could’ve waited for this deal 🤦🏻‍♂️

Had I thought about it properly, I could’ve netted myself a free pair of AirPods 3 w/MagSafe charging case and saved another $27 because by now I would’ve also stacked with some effective 10% off Apple gift cards (see my comment above)…

$1489 iPad Pro 256GB WiFi model education pricing - $219 AirPods discount + $289 for AirPods 3/MagSafe charging case ($70 difference) = $1559 before gift cards or $1403 effectively using 10% off/20x FlyBuys promo bought Apple gift cards - what an idiot! Twice! 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

So in summary, if you meet those conditions like
I do at the top, take my advice and save iPad/Mac purchases until Apple’s back to school sale mid-January and also have your Apple gift cards ready that were bought with a ~10% off deal as a nice kicker/stacked deal, and also maybe order using one of the cashback apps 👍🏻

  • If you don't need the airpods the savings from AoC store are better - When purchasing a MBP anyway.

    • ipad looks to be same price

  • Thanks for sharing op! Time to pick up an iPad pro

  • Shopback's running 8% uncapped cashback today for apple

  • I have JBHIFI gift cards, looking to buy Macbook Pro M2 which is ticketed at $1799. Can I get Airpods offer at JBHifi?

    • -1

Method of payment such as using gift cards is totally unrelated to their Free Aipods promotion…

      • Thank you. My question is whether JBHifi matches similar promotion

        • -1

          Sorry 🤦🏻‍♂️

And no, they match prices and not promotions like these..

Maybe create a classified listing to swap your jb credit for someone’s Apple credit.
Or you could sell your jb credit and use that money to buy Apple credit from someone here.

  • bummer just saw this now. bought the nee ipad pro 11 on january 7th. cannot return it anymore and re-buy to get this deal. oh well.

  • Cashreward 6% discount, ending today

    • Don't see it, only "ONLINE up to 1.50% cashback"

  • Does anyone know of some cash back deals coming up or is that impossible to predict?

  • I take it this wouldnt work with the pro bundle of apps?

  • So this is a better deal than getting from AOC store? I'm guessing it is if you get a free pair of Airpods 2 vs AOC without them?
