      • +2

How about a link to the Victoria's Secret catalogue.

    • +2

For legal reasons they can’t before Monday 5pm

      • I hereby confirm that Woolies are matching Coles. I am prepared to sacrifice this entire post by boldly sticking my neck out

  • +2

can you do it so I can sit back and do nothing?

  • +2

@dealbot Does WW have eBay or swap celebration card in the upcoming catalogue?

    • No

    • +1

They have TCN Gift, which can be redeemed for eBay Gift Card

  • +6

Essentially can buy $2500 in gift cards for the maximum 50,000 points

  • +6

Before anyone asks: 100GC get 2000Flybuys=10% off

    • +2

Bonus $10 or 10% in flybuys dollars to be more accurate.

  • What can you convert your flybuys points into?

    • +5

      Into a into a German pretzel đŸ„š

    • To flybuys dollar , velocity points

  • +5

Good deal if you need Apple products. I remember last year buying around $5k worth from Woolies with 15% of points in preparation for the iPhone 13 Pro and Macbook Pro 14 launches.

    • +1

These are good deals if you

      (a) are buying an Apple device anyway
      (b) are collecting QFF points via EDR points conversion.
      (c) the Apple product is "new" (<6 months since release) and therefore does not qualify for earning QFF points via the QFF store. Usually only 4-6 months after the device (iPhone, Watch etc) release does the QFF store allow earning QFF points for Apple purchases

I presume similar new-device exclusions apply for earning Velocity points via the equivalent Velocity Points Store.

Apple usually does Back to School or Uni promotion starting about end of first week of January. Good to stack with that.

    • +3

My bet is that the next Back To School / Uni promotion would start 5 January

    • +1

Actually, is it possible to combine the two offers?

(using these gifts cards to buy apple product during back to school promotion)

      • +3

Yes, and stack with 5%~8% cash back offer.

        • Thanks mate.
Right now, Cashback rewards at Apple is only %1.5 which is not worth much. I hope the percentage will rise soon.

        • Dumb question but will you still get cashback if you pay with a gift card?

        • Can you please clarify this comment?

What 5~8% cashback do you speak of? How do I get that?

(Not across these ShopBack/Cashrewards type things 🙃)

  • +2

I remember buying $300 of iTunes credit at 50% off once upon a time from Officeworks, but that was a long time ago. Those were the days.

    • What the heck is iTunes? Some kind of ancient, failed MP3 player?

      • +4

        iTunes saved the music industry.

        • -7

I wasn’t aware that it was in danger. Thanks for the update!

    • Big w too! One guy I knew bought like $10k

  • Can you redeem flybuys for any gift card at kmart/target? Or is it just coles+myer group gift card?

    • +1

You can simply convert the flybuys points into “flybuy dollars” and load it onto your physical, plastic flybuy card. After this you can pay as normal by card, by swiping your physical flybuy card, at Kmart/Target etc.

      • can the flybuys dollars on the card be used when paying for giftcards though? does that raise an error at payment, or is it only if you use other giftcards to pay for giftcards (an irksome restriction)

        • I think you can, as in this way you’re technically paying “by card” which likely means no difference to credit card payment, etc.

          • @bfimmortal: Yes at kmart/target can definitely do Coles+myer gift card, but checking to see if others are possible (e.g. steam gift card)

          • +2

@bfimmortal: The reason they were asking that question is that Coles actually blocks any attempts to use Flybuys Dollars as a payment method when you're trying to purchase any gift card. As soon as you swipe the Flybuys card on the EFTPOS terminal, you'll get an Invalid Product Mix error, even if you attempt to put it through like any other card.

            • +2

@WookieMonster: Oh OK, didn't know that. I generally use the "flybuys dollars" for grocery purchase at Coles anyway. Thanks for pointing this out.

              • @bfimmortal: yes, after asking the question I went to test it out and @WookieMonster 's description is exactly the result I had, they certainly know their stuff with Coles.

            • @WookieMonster: Is this limited to just Coles? Can gift cards be purchased with FlyBuys dollars at Kmart for example?

              • +1

@FormulaWon: I tested purchasing a Coles Group & Myer gift card at Kmart and Target using Flybuys Dollars a few months ago and it worked. I cannot tell you whether it works now though, or whether it works for other types of gift cards sold at Kmart or Target.

Keep in mind that Kmart or Target could have updated their POS systems within the last few months to do what Coles does and automatically block you from using Flybuys Dollars to purchase a gift card. I have no idea whether it works now!

                • +1

@WookieMonster: Hmm, thanks for letting us know! I was planning on buying some Apple gift cards to pay for the majority of a new iPhone, then use the FlyBuys points, convert to FB Dollars and purchase the remaining amount in Apple cards, so I'll head to Kmart and test if this can be done.

                  • +1

@FormulaWon: Keep in mind when I last went to Kmart

                    • The self checkouts will only let you load a Coles Group & Myer gift card in specific increments up to $100. If you want to load more than $100 onto a Coles Group & Myer gift card, you must go to a standard checkout operated by a staff member (and hope they don’t care about you using Flybuys Dollars as a payment method).

                    • I did not need staff approval at all when purchasing the gift card at the self checkout, which is odd these days for a purchase of a gift card.

  • Do they have 500 gift cards? I need to buy a mac which is about $2000.

    • +1

Yes, just pick the variable $20-$500 gift card, and choose $500

      • +1

And this offer specifically limit 5 gift cards per account. Therefore buying 5x variable cards with $500 is the only way to achieve that.

FYI, if you’d like to use multiple cards for online store purchase, you may need to load the cards into your account first instead of putting the numbers at the time of checkout (8 at most for a transaction, it shouldn’t be a problem for just 5 cards, but again, FYI). Note you cannot buy Apple Care online with gift cards, but credit card only. However, as long as the credit is still on a card (not loaded in your account) you can actually pay for Apple Care in an Apple Retail Store, as their payment system supports payment via gift cards but not credits in your account digitally.

        • Thanks , do you think buyinh apple care is worth with the mac? What are the perks?

          • +1

@virajsen: Aussie already got 2yr warranty under consumer law. AC+ extends only one extra year. I bought it mainly for two reasons: in case the battery wears out at the end of 3-year span; in case I f**ked up and smashed the device, “accidentally” <— this is the main reason

In contrast AC+ is more useful for iPhones. However I missed my window, oh well

  • Awesome, basically free money.

  • Anyone know if Woolies will be doing the same? Have they advertised it anywhere?

I prefer to collect some QFF points.

  • People have bought so many routes. I just wanna buy an Apple AirPods Pro 2. What’s the most cost effective way?

    • +1

Wait for some retailer on sale then price match at OW.

APP2 is a popular item and should always be a post here on OzB when there's a good deal.

Otherwise wait for back to school season and see if you can get a pair of free AirPods with device purchase.

  • +1

Does the Apple Gift Card work with The App Store?

    • +2

I have used it on Online Apple store, Online Apple edu store and "App Store". My kids also pay their monthly games subscribe with Apple gift card. So "YES"

  • Thanks OP, I'm planning to buy this and load App store to use for Netflix subscription. Should work, correct?

    • +1

If you are already paying for Netflix through the App Store then yes it will work. You can’t sign up for a new account or reactivate an old account and pay though App Store any longer

      • Thanks, Yes, I'm currently paying through App store.

  • Can we use discounted Cole’s gift cards to buy these Apple gift cards and still get the bonus points?

    • where did you get discounted coles gift cards?

    • -1

No you cant pay gift catds with gift cards

  • Is there a way to claim this without using the physical card?

I have misplaced my physical card, but can pay using the digital card stored on my phone

  • I notice in the catalogue that it says you need your fly buys card, I have misplaced it - is my digital card accepted? Or should I get a replacement.

    • +2

Scan your digital card (barcode). That will work fine to add the points to your account. The only thing you need your Flybuys card for is to spend Flybuys dollars in-store

  • +5

    Thanks dealbot https://www.ozbargain.com.au/user/96859 Well done!
I purchased Apple gift cards at Coles this morning and used them to purchase a new iPhone from Apple resulting in approx 10% saving when new Flybuys dollars appear in my Flybuys account

  • +1

I just purchased $2500 Apple gift cards at Coles, now I am sweating on the points being applied to my Flybuys.

    • +1

      I feel you.
It seems like payment/points won't be reflected on flybuys account until the next day.

    • Literally did the same thing yesterday morning and am constantly checking the app

      • +2

Flybuys points from an instore purchase at Coles are usually posted around 5pm Sydney/Melbourne time on the day after the purchase. However, there has been a couple of instances recently where my points from such purchases took an extra day to be posted to my account.

        • +1

Ah okay, good to know. Thanks for the info bud

          • +1

@bohottej: I just checked and it worked đŸ‘đŸŒ
They added the points by 5pm as @WookieMonster said !

  • hi! I am wondering if I buy the customised card $20-$500, for example $70, will I get point from this promotion as well?

    • yes

  • Keen to buy an Apple Watch Ultra ($1299) guys and with this deal (I’m happy to receive 10% in FlyBuys dollars) it would effectively cost me $1169.10 ($1299 - 10% ($129.90)) but just wondering if anyone has a better way for me/better discount opportunity?

I stupidly didn’t take up an opportunity back during Black Friday sales when sydneytec on eBay had them for sale. I could’ve got one (albeit with a band I didn’t want) for $1141.89 ($1441.89 - $300.00 (FRIBLK22 code max. discount)) but I guess I held out for a better offer đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™‚ïž

    • +1

I'm thinking the exact same. The only better deal really will be to get JBHIFI/Officeworks @ 15% off and wait till they have a 10% off sale.

      • Does JB HiFi/Officeworks gift vouchers at 15% off happen often?

Also I’m pretty sure JB HiFi at least don’t discount the Apple Watches with the 10% off sales for Macs.

        • +1

Yeah during Black Friday and lead up to XMAS you could get the Ultimate cards @ 15% off.

Also might be worth getting this deal, and then waiting for a 10% cashback from SB/CR.

          • @Repstar: Oh ok I think the last gift card sale I saw was 7% off.

And you’re saying ShopBack or Cashrewards have previously offered 10% cashback on Apple store purchases?

Should’ve also mentioned that I was keen to get the watch like in the next week or two (was meant to buy it at Xmas) đŸ‘đŸ»

  • Is it 50,000 points per transaction? Or for whole period of offer?

    • +2

      The entire offer/promotion period.

      Strictly speaking:

      • The first $2,500 spent on Apple gift cards during this promotion will earn 20x Flybuys points (regardless of the number of transactions it takes to get to the $2,500 limit).

      • Any amount over the first $2,500 will only earn 1x Flybuys points (which is really just the standard everyday earn rate).

For example, if you purchase $3,000 worth of Apple gift cards during this promotion, you will earn 20x Flybuys points on the first $2,500, then only 1x Flybuys points on the remaining $500.

      • +2

        whispers multiple FlyBuys accounts sshhh

  • +2

Full points appeared in my FlyBuys account today.

  • What's the back to school promotion? What's the Coles gift card promotion for next week

  • +3

Strangely Apple haven’t announce back to school promo, usually on first Thursday of Jan

    • Is this to all apple users or in apple edu?

      • +1

        In apple edu store

        • Strangely I can only get 11% off via Unidays Apple Edu, but there is no back to school promotion

    • +3

It should be announced soon, considering the last 5 years it was launched around this time.

      2022:
      6 Jan

      2021:
      6 Jan

      2020:
      6 Jan

      2019:
      3 Jan

      2018:
      5 Jan

  • +5

I called Apple in Rundle Mall & the helpful person said to expect something over the next week regarding the 2023 back to school promotion, wouldn't elaborate on exact dates or what the promotion would be this year, either airpods or gift cards.

  • +2

Finally Woolworths has come to play!

Same offer with them, starting on Jan 11th.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/750234

  • Conditions say this runs to the 10/1. Does anyone know if that means it’s still valid today until 11:59pm or has it expired?
