I was into the watch collecting phase but then i realised i only have one wrist.

Sold it all and bought a Rolex.
Never have to take it off, simplez

    • +3

So does that mean you also only own one pair of pants, one shirt, one pair of socks and one pair of underwear? After all, you only have one body.

    • Which Rollie? I almost bought a no date sub, but I'm more of a Japanese and German watch guy

      • Just got a subby,
Was looking at the Omega NTTD but wasn't keen on the depreciation.

Then again, all luxury watches are pretty much dropping like lead balloons.

        • +1

Subs are great, but I like weirder shit so If I do buy a Rolex, it'd probably be the Mligauss with green sapphire and the totally rad lightning bolt second hand

          • @rosebank: that would definitely tick that box.

Polarizing watches they are, pretty sick story/engineering behind it though.

  • FWIW, I bought the Citizen Eco-Drive AT0200-05E on a previous sale. Super fast shipping, I think it arrived the next day. It’s a great watch and out of all my high end mechanical watches, this keeps absolutely perfect time (which is expected for an eco-drive quartz). I wear this when I’m at my farm doing work and I don’t have to worry about bashing it.

"Probably been asked a million times, but I'd honestly like to know why would someone buy a watch in 2023? Everyone has their phone with them all the time, and new phones have always on display so you don't even need to unlock your phone."

You really don't get it do you? Watches are to men what shoes are to women. It's much more than about telling the time….

You really don't get it do you?

That's generally why questions are asked. Anyway, decided to buy one myself.

      • +1

How dare you ask questions when you should already know the answer!

  • What's the return policy with Starbuy? Not sure of the 39mm case, I have a feeling it might be too small.

    • What size is your wrist?

      • I haven’t measured recently but I wear a 41mm Garmin Fenix right now which covers most of my wrist (not very helpful I know)

        • +1

If a 41mm covers most of your wrist, a 39mm should be fine. And the squared-off case makes it look bigger to me

  • Thanks for the post WatchNerd!
Any chance of getting the Citizen Eco-Drive AT0200-13A at the same price of $149? Prefer the colours on that over the Citizen Eco-Drive AT0200-05E which is currently on sale.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't that an ATL for the CA7040-85's?
already have the blue one (amazing lume)…really shouldn't get the black one as well lol

    • +1

I remember buying the black dial for $179, and keep looking at the blue one everytime it pops up. But I already have 4 or 5 blue dial solars, and have an excess of 2 watches currently in my solar box that holds 24. One of my new years resolutions is no overflow in any my boxes, so I have to get rid of 2. And also a quartz.

  • This or Invicta Pro Diver automatic and what are the practical uses for Chrono? Apart from looks.

    • +1

It is like a timer, I would never use it which is why I don't like chronos.

  • Waiting on sapphire glass options!

  • Still holding out hope that the BM7550-10E deal makes a comeback. Kicking myself to this day that I missed out on that one 😡

  • Great watch if you like to have a smelly wrist

  • Thought this was a Seiko 5 before reading the title

  • +1

Fool me 4 times, shame on you. Fool me 5 or more times, shame on me.

Every time I buy a Citizen I find it's missing that little something special, even if on paper and in pictures it seems great.

  • which of the three is the best? I need one for my uncle?
    don't know much about watches..

    Thank you..

    • +1

Theres 6 - the one you like the look of is the best

  • +1

Thanks op. I got the green band one for my father.

    Such a pretty watch.

I wish I'm an Octopus so i can wear more than one, but i guess Octopus don't need to tell time..

  • -3

    No sapphire, no deal.

  • This deal will end @10am.

  • @WatchNerd Baught BT0080-59E received yesterday. Kept it near window for 3-4 hours(not direct sunlight), again kept it in a room full of natural light whole day today, but not getting any beat. Am I doing something wrong or watch is faulty.

    • Have you got the crown pushed in?

      • Yes.

        • I guess next thing to try is to leave it in direct sunlight for 10 minutes.

          • @WatchNerd: Mailed starbuy, about the issue. Deepak@starbuy suggested to leave the watch near window till Monday. Let's see how it goes.
Will update the thread, thanks @WatchNerd

            • @Dmvic: Well I would try the minimum time possible in direct sunlight first. Keep checking every 10 minutes to see if it's running.

              • @WatchNerd: Tried all but seems like it was defective. Had to send it back for refund. :-(
