Sunset Blvd Blend is my current favourite, anyone tried their new Downtown blend and can comment??

    • Yep i bought some a few weeks ago, it's also really really good!

    • +2

Got their Downtown Blend too, pretty good.

I rate these guys a touch above Airjo, at this price, definitely worth it.

      • +6

I rate them significantly above Airjo!

        • Same here - significantly better than Airjo, maybe a tad better or comparable to Lime Blue's offerings.

          • +1

@poppingtags: Agreed they are significantly better the airjo, I personally think lime blue better, but it also might be taste talking, I definitely prefer a light blend/roast

            • +5

@Jofzar: I must be the only one on OzB who doesn't rate Lime Blue. First batch I got way back when they started posting was great, every batch since has been supermarket grade at best.

              • +1

@d3ft: Agree, felt very underwhelmed by Lime Blue.

              • @d3ft: Yes, I had completely different experience, tried one of their SO mystery prepaid subscription for 6 months and they were are outstanding beans. I drink it as cappuccino , not sure how you drink / brew yours tho.

        • +1

Not even a competition :D :D I have my OzB deal notification specifically exclude Airjo. Some of the worst coffee I'e had. Inglewoo SB is so sooo decent for the price.

        • my last 2 bags from AirJo were terrible, so this time I splurged on a 225g bag from a local roaster. spendy++ but so tasty!

    • Yeah, both Sunset Blvd and Downtown are pretty good. I also rate them higher than Airjo.

    • Got 2*1kg yesterday, will try. Otherwise wouldn't by 2 (with 50% off…).

  • I don't think there is a blend that I've tried from them that I don't like. Absolutely great stuff!

  • I can’t seem to get free shipping for VIC for 2x 250g bags…

    • If you’re open to it, I’d highly recommend getting vacuum canisters and then freezing any excess you don’t plan to currently use.

They canister pays for itself when you start to be able to buy 1KG bags.

      • +1

Any links to the canister you are referring to? The good ones I mean

        • +1

          I really like these:
          https://www.delonghi.com/en-au/dlsc063-vacuum-coffee-caniste…

          Each one holds 500 grams.

          Usually $60. Use THANKS10 for 10% off.

          Free shipping.

Available in plain steel or black colour. Not sure which are in stock.

I now have 4. So I can get 1KG and make use of it (I keep my beans frozen usually to preserve freshness), and another 1KG for when I run out of my current batch.

Reports I’ve seen online suggest that experts generally agree now that freezing does preserve freshness. But once unfrozen, they need to be used within days. I just keep frozen the beans I currently use as well (once 2 weeks past roasting date, for flavour to develop).

          • @wormarts: Cant we use a normal food container and put it in the freezer? Would that make sense?

            • @baldur: Yeah keen to understand this as well - how freezing compares to the vacuum canister

            • @baldur: You can google that, mate.

Air will spoil the beans, hence the need for a vacuum container… to pump that air out.

              • @wormarts: Hmm… probably not as simple as you think. Freezing decreases temperature, which decreases the rate of reaction with oxygen in the air, therefore slowing degradation.
So is it strictly necessary to generate a vacuum? Maybe not.

                • @Boscom123: I just go by what the experts say.

If rate of reaction is slowed down, then additionally expelling as much air as possible can only exponentially improve things?

Anyway, if there’s a method that’s good enough for the experts, it’s good enough for me.

          • @wormarts: How long have you had them, I've read they don't last long. After a few months of use, vac seal will not last.

I have one but too early to say.

            • @TEER3X: A few months now. The mechanism seems sturdy enough, not sure why it would suddenly fail.

              touches wood 🤞

        • I love Airscape. https://www.coffeeparts.com.au/airscape-large-coffee-storage… https://www.coffeeparts.com.au/airscape-medium-classic-coffe…
I have these both: I decant most into the 1kg, and add a few days into the smaller one so I am not opening and closing all the time

          • @Whim: Agreed. Airscape are good but the big one is surprisingly BIG.

      • +1

For anyone wondering, all you need to do is portion out the beans into a sandwich bag, drop the bag into a saucepan of water to push the air out, seal it up and then throw it in the freezer

  • +4

Appears free shipping over $50 applies to the prediscount amount.

    • Looking forward to how these compare to Airjo. Can't complain for 1kg costing $30 including shipping.

    • +1

I got both, lime blue has delayed shipping so i ordered for next month (march) and got this one for now

      • Any recommendation for the Inglewood blend?

        • +1

Sunset Blvd is my fave but do also like Rosevelt. I'm keen to try their new blend.

  • +1

I prefer their black bag one than st Ali.

    • i got both, lime blue has delayed shipping so i ordered for next month (march) and got this one for now

      • Were you replying to the question above from Luweitang 😊

        • Sorry mate, I was! I'm not sure how I made that mistake.

          • @RhythmicJAY28: Haha, therefore my explanation mathematically proves that bananas have wings.

Edit: sorry responded to the wrong post.

  • +1

Not a coffee person but would like to try their chai and chocolate powder; can anyone here comment about those? TIA!

    • I've tried their chocolate powder. Like their coffee, really good quality & rich in flavour. I make hot chocolate with it with a glass of hot milk and a couple of spoons of the chocolate powder.

      • thanks got 1 to try and also Chai and Ginger tea

      • Thank you! Will order now☕️

        • I got the small chai 250 g to test first.

Hopefully there is 1kg later if I want to drink it daily to get 6 pack

      • +1

The "chocolate powder" is basically 40% cocoa and 60% sugar. Might work out cheaper to buy these ingredients from a supermarket.

Go ahead, spoil yourself with that premium cocoa powder and you'll still spend less in comparison.

    • I like rich chocolate. Their Chocolate powder is my favourite

For what it’s worth and for comparison purposes. Second favourite would be nomad chocolate powder. I don’t like the Grounded Pleasures chocolate that most cafes use.

My supermarket go to for chocolate is a 2:1 ratio of Cadbury drinking chocolate mixed with baking cocoa (and brand of baking cocoa will do the job)

      • Sorry, I’m not associated with Inglewood, I ticked the box by accident

    • Would also like to know people's thoughts on their chai

      • Gf doesn't like it so much, prefers prana

  • +1

good coffee - been running through their downtown bags with my breville machine. just got another 3 250g bags of the other blends

    • Hi Zanzir, may I i ask what grind setting and extraction time do you go for your Breville on this bean? Thanks!

      • +1

There is a brewing guide on their web site for each blend. You need to adjust grind size to achieve similar and see if you like the taste.

      • +2

breville smart grinder - 13 clips and extraction time 28 seconds. 21g in, 38g out. breville infuser - manual mode

  • why do these stores sell Chai so expensive? 250gm for $20 lol .. just get chai from your local Indian store or even Woolies

  • Bit of a noob, I still have another 1kg from their black friday left (Bought 2 kg) How long can they keep in their sealed bag without degrading the quality too much?

    • Presuming those beans are now 2 months old from roast date. How do they taste to you compared to when you first bought them?

    • -2

I’m sure there are BILLIONS of articles on the web about this topic…

  • What on earth is Malibu Sticky Chai By Inglewood

    • -1

Let's just say it wasn't stick until Inglewood came around

  • I put 250g sunset, 250g downtown, 250 single o, got free shipping, used an unwanted gift card 😂 it had 27.16$, lost $0.16, worth it!

  • Does anyone else ever had issues with the website forgetting passwords/not updating shipping details etc?

    • +1

I just had to reset password, it simply forgot mine

      • Same! But i'm not receiving the password email

        • Try again, it'll eventually come through. Same for me. Delivered on second attempt

    • I have the same issue. Have requested a reset-password link (multiple times, multiple browers) but never received any emails. Quite annoying front end system if I ask me.

  • Which blend you recommend for cappuccino, Sunset or Roosevelt?

    • Either will be good, but it seems like Sunset is specifically roasted with milk based drinks in mind.

  • Good find OP! Bought myself some decaf and single origin (Sapphire Colombia) to try out with my new machine.

  • Such a shame that their sticky chai is crap now. They used to have prana chai.
For blends roosevelt in my opinion is far superior to sunset boulevard

  • Thanks, ordered :)

  • I'm out of coffee :( Any idea when they might ship it?

    • I'm not associated with Inglewood, however, I have found their order fulfilment pretty quick. Usually within 24 hours, I receive a notification that they have shipped my order. I live in Sydney though, so the couriers are a hit & miss. I remember when they use to use Aus Post and this was super quick. Now a days, its courier please/Aramex (which aren't the greatest).

This time, I ordered at 9:48am and received a despatch notification at 4:41pm on the same day

      • Great news. :)
        Thanks OP.

      • BS. That is so what they replied me:

We apologise for the delay in receiving an update with your order. During our peak promotional periods it can take up to 7 business days for orders to be dispatched from our warehouse.

  • Does anyone know if they do delayed dispatch! Would love to stock up on coffee but dont need any at the moment

    • what i do is tape the air holes of the bag and then put them in the freezer. once im ready for a new bag, i take it out and let it sit overnight for the next day.

    • Do not worry, it will be delayed anyway

  • Received a spam text message right after putting in an order via Apple Pay:

Your device has been suspended from Apple Pay. You must re-activate your wallet to use any tap n pay services: https://activate-mydevice-help.com

I wonder if their site is comprised.

    • Possible, nobodys got their orders yet that i can see

  • Is there a discount code or something 1kg bags coming up as $60

    • 50OFF

  • +2

A little strange but why is 250g of coffee cheaper than 500g of coffee (per 100g)

    250g is $17
    500g is $38

    Better off buying 2x 250g

    • Good observation, yes better to buy 2x250gm in that case. Also 4x250gm is $34 and 1kg bag is $30. So you could buy 250gm bags and try all their blends.

  • Looks like my order placed on the 25th still hasn’t shipped, has anyone else’s shipped?

    • No, pretty annoying

  • +1

Still hasnt shipped, have we all been scammed

    • Mine shipped out yesterday by standard so i should get it by early next week (to NSW).

      • Yes mine arrived yesterday to melb

  • Just shipped today.

  • +1

Ordered on the 25th, also heard nothing yet

  • Got email from them, apparently I have to wait another week. If I knew I would ordered from someone else. Running out of beans.
If I find another deal, I will cancel order with Inglewood. They also use some dodgy Swift and Shit courriers, last time they delivered to neighbouring suburb.

  • My email was obviously hacked; I heard nothing from them until about an hour ago.

  • +1

Still no shipping/updates a week later. Emailed them and so far no response. Also getting spammed via email.

Will stick to lime blue and undercover roaster in the future.

    • I ordered twice during the sale period: the first one I paid Express Post for and it arrived the 25th (sent out 24th), while the second batch I ordered on the 25th (but only standard shipping) and after following up Tues this week by phone, i received the dispatch email early yesterday and its on its way to Sydney.

When i rang them, they acknowledged they were backed up due to the amount of orders they received (presumably lots on the last day) plus the public holiday didn't help, but that the orders should be sent out by yesterday or today.

      • As a follow up, I received mine today and noticed that for the beans I ordered (Sunset Blvd and Downtown), the roast dates on them indicate 02 Feb so it actually ends up working out better for those who keep an eye on these things as that means that the beans are still in that 'resting period' (up to 7 days, sometime 10-14 days) so it aint too bad if they are delayed.

  • +1

Purchased on the 23rd and still haven't received my order. Says courier please picked it up on the 31st.

  • Ordered 500g, got 1kg thanks

  • Ordered
    - Tanzania, Marangu Cooperative - Espresso Roast
    - Colombia Decaf EA Water Process

Xtra dark roasted and taste like horrible supermarket coffee. i have bought few times and it was ok not great but this time is bad. For context, my regular is Single O or 5 Senses.
