  • I'm not an expert in this but it feels like MFI certification doesn't mean much and the cables could still stop working. Seems to apply to baseus cables too. Am curious if anyone has done research on non-Apple cables and can recommend some good ones.

    • I bought baseus (ipad/iphone) cables back in Nov 2020, 2pk 3m for $15.. and i have been using them everyday since.. to be honest, they have been working really good.. no issues..
No idea, what these cables are like though, bcoz i always buy baseus now if i need them, even usb C cables. i have tried Ugreen cables too from aliexpress. But they gave up after year and half. Still worth looking into them.

      • right, good to know. the baseus comment wasn't from my personal experience. that was from reading the comment section in an ozb baseus deal where others have had some negative experience using baseus. hopefully your cables go the distance.

          • @kubernetesxp: yeah, hence my point about the MFI certification tagged against deals. it feels like it's basically a gamble with most cable deals.

I wouldn't overlook reviews just because something is cheap. But that's just me

  • Hmmm MFI means they pay apple 8$ per chip and idk seems a little backwards or they are cloned S/N

    • The "made for iphone" identify says "Made Of ,ipod iphone ipad 😆

  • I've purchased these in the past. Some of them don't appear to have a working MFi chip as they disable touch login.

  • Price has gone up.
