Obligatory C3 is better, by how much with the price increases dunno though, used to be base C3 for $300 range. Prices suck now.

900W seems particularly weak. My 12 year old Miele is more like 2000W

Surely suction matters the most? It would be interesting to compare your old vacuum's suction to the 900w one and see the difference. May not be the case, but they could just be more efficient?

Wattage isn't always everything, it's efficiency. I've got a Miele C3 which from memory uses around 1300-1500 watts on full power. As it stands, I have to run it on 50% suction otherwise I can't move the floor tool.

Compared to those cheap Kmart vacuums that boast 2400w but don't have anywhere near the same amount of suction.

    • They still have them. The higher wattage Powerline motors are labeled in the spec sheet.

  • Thanks to OzBargain, I bought my three bagged Mieles around $300 each, several years ago and are 2,200W…..they were incredibly good, and are still going strong, especially with a turbo-head :)

  • Good find though seems to be cheaper elsewhere, e.g.$285 + free delivery for most cities at https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/10797640-miele-classic-c…

Robotvac is better, as it will clean the floor 14 times for the once every fortnight that you do with this

  • have these gone up? I remember getting my C1 for under ~$200 5 years ago.

Having said that, I don't like my C1 very much, it doesn't have a telescopic pipe/tube/stick which makes storing it a bit annoying. Also, when moving around, the hose tends to twist but not really follow the head and causes it to jam.

Bought this in October 2022 for $249 from Chatswood JB HiFi. Great machine, has manual adjustable suction power.

Some of my experiences, when you store the vacuum with the pipe off, the hole is permanently open to the bag…so recommend you store it with the hose plugged in but then it doesn't make it very compact. My vacuum head's hard floor function has also broken - the bristles don't come down to create a hovercraft effect anymore so I'm going through warranty process atm.

got this half price from 2020, inflation is scary

  • EU has banned vacuums that use more than 900 watts: https://www.bbc.com/news/business-41119355
Wondering if Miele will move to 900 watts globally after all the 900+ watts vacuums have been sold.

  • This or should I wait for a c3 deal?

I prefer C3 myself and bagged over bagless.

I bought one in that amazing good guys deal a few years ago - C3 for $280 or something like that. Was an absolute steal!

      • Wow! Massive savings compared to the prices nowadays..

  • I have this vacuum and it's awesome! really good value for money
