Thanks, ordered 2 for cold storage backups because why not at that price. Probably won't be honoured for pre-order stock though.

    • Same. Got two. I'll on the search for a pre-order NAS :)

  • +1

They probably meant $29 off. If you're around Bendigo it's worth a shot otherwise will probably be cancelled for pre-order.

  • Worth a try

How I wish this was true, I don't wanna go through the whole cancellation saga

  • +1

yeah, put an order in, I expect I'll get refunded.

  • +7

If they have to bring stock in and its abnormally low price then I don't think its going to go through. So no bargain.

  • +1

got 4, see how we go

  • +1

ordered 4 no ETA. most likely refunded.

Thanks OP. Doubt that it'll be honored, but you never know. I ordered a couple.

Now I know why deals from Centre Com cannot be trusted

  • +5

It was $29 at the check out but I ended up charged the full price.

The confirmation screen definitely said $29 too, bad system.

  • +5

They automatically charged me full price to $584.. but when I clicked the order, it was $87. Nasty.

Have to call in to cancel because you can't do it online?

    • +3

I'd probably send emails as well so there's a paper trail you can send to your bank if you need to do a chargeback

Make sure you have evidence of the original price too

    • +2

Called them and cancelled, waste of time, lucky I paid with paypal, so if any further fuss I am more secured.

    • +1

Meanwhile, they have taken your details and probably asked for your Photo ID as well as the utility bills.

      Genius!

    • Slightly better (?) than retailers such as PLE Computers holding almost full $4k for RTX 40 graphics card models per hit as free cash for a couple months with ever-changing ETAs when suppliers only ship in single-digit quantities

    Cancellation email received

    • +1

They must be sending them out one by one.
Always too good to be true

EDIT - and got it :(

      • I bought within 5m but still no cancel email are they not processing them in order oO?

        • Nothing for me yet either

        • filo?

    • Refund received?

      • +1

        Just received now, via PayPal.

  • +2

Some people need to use some sense before posting "deals" with obvious price errors.

    • +3

Why when sometimes amazing price errors are honoured.

      Stupid take/10

      • Yeah, as if there was a chance that centrecom was going to honour selling a 6tb drive for $29

  • +1

Called and cancelled. Annoying. Not honouring deal/price is one thing but automatically charging to higher price is just another level. What a d*ck move.

  • +2

The entitlement in the comments is rife.

    • +5

not really, if it is an obvious price error just cancel rather than charge full price, as full price was not indicated at moment of sale. it is a dick move to just slam people with full price.

      • i did not seek to purchase this
      • i do think price errors should be honored unless it puts the business in jeopardy, better quality control, better stock management.. especially IT shop websites are so clunky in aus
      • Yes really. It was quite obvious that the price was incorrect, and people still decided to go ahead with the purchase and try their luck. They gambled and lost.

        • the decision to bill them full price still happens after the price error and the decision to buy without even consulting a customer. One could argue, the company gambled with the savings from not having safety nets to avoid price errors

          • @juki: Gambled with the savings? HAHAHAHA wow the entitlement in this comment is rife too

            • @JoeBogan: yeah it was kind of a stretch I'll admit to that but at least use "entitlement" correctly, it doesnt even make sense in your reply… (to a point i dont even think you read what you are commenting on).

as mentioned above and below, I'm just against the company billing the full price, that they take advantage of the 29 bucks is sort of acceptable or a little more understandable. Even if in my opinion, if its your job to sell stuff, its your job to ensure you are putting up the right price

          • @juki: It's only fair, right? They tried to take advantage of the business, so the business returned the favour.

            • @magic8ballgag: Yep most of not all people that bought this knew it was a price error

            • @magic8ballgag: so playground tit for tat is ethics now? or as my gran would put it two wrongs dont make a right

no they made a mistake, yeah sure people try to take advantage but we all know that if it is a recognised error the purchase wont be honoured. The company just adds another wrongdoing by in return taking advantage of their customer. Furthermore I am not familiar with aussie consumer law but shouldnt the price that is purchased the item be displayed for a proper contractual agreement. If not why display a price at all?

Please understand i am only against the company billing the full price, that they take advantage of the 29 bucks is sort of acceptable (although some may say it is just a ruse to bolster their cash flow)

              • +1

@juki: I wasnt the one who suggested they did that, but I won't lose sleep if they did.

                • @magic8ballgag: fair enough, neither would i (its still a dick move)

  • Cancellation email received too

    • My order was cancelled.

  • Doesn't the western digital blue series have a bad reputation for unusually high failure rate? If that is still the case like it used to, i'd limit storage to music and movies. Back photos and personal vids to a different drive.

  • Order cancelled, but money not refunded to Paypal.

    • +1

I just received my PayPal refund.

  • Sounds like another unobtainable BS deal
