  • This or MX mechanical?

    • +5

      Personal preference.

The Logitech K855 has standard size keycaps, while the MX Mechanical has low profile keycaps.

The keyboard sizes are also different; the MX Mechanical comes in Full or 75%, whereas the K855 only comes in TKL

  • No backlight?

    • no mention of anything backlight anywhere.. so assuming no :)

    • No backlight.

I’d pay the extra and go to officeworks, for Logitech you just get a replacement or full refund. Nothing beats that.

Also same price for the pink but OOS at my local.

    • For what it's worth I bought an MX Keys online off Wireless1 a while back and one of the keys started wearing down abnormally fast, paint coming off within a few months. Contacted Logitech about it through their website and all they asked for was a screenshot of the invoice and shipped me a new one no questions asked.

      • Oh yes I’m aware of that. I had to do the same with MSY (RIP), but you have to wait for it. My lack of patience might not worth much, but not having a mouse or keyboard for a week is a kill if you only had one device.

  • how long does the battery last?

    • as per the officeworks and logitech site, it lasts upto 36 months. Since it uses 2 AAA battery, easy to change once it dies out.

  • What are the switches like?

    • +1

From logitech website : Mechanical switches: Red (linear)

    • It's definitely not as nice as my Das cherry brown so far, seems to travel a fair bit (per linear switches). But coming from having to return two keychrons within a year for the same repeating key issue, I'm not complaining. There aren't a lot of decent mechanical bluetooth keyboards.

Edit: also finding it awkward because of the missing second enter key, will have to figure out how to close type layer in Photoshop.

I managed to get Officeworks to price match Mwave here: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/logitech-signature-k855-tkl…. Come down to $98.80.

    • I managed to score one using Mwave price match in Mornington too, thanks for sharing!

  • The software you need to download in order to restore the function keys is Logi Options+ (logioptionsplus_installer.exe on Windows). Purple icon.

  • Just picked one of these up for the Xbox today! Super responsive and and low latency through Bolt receiver. Had to do a firmware upgrade first to get it working on the Xbox. Best bang for buck around. No backlight though.

    • Silly question but why would you get this for an Xbox? Seems like overkill for regular keyboard use.

    • Hey @EpicSpaceLord. How did you do the firmware upgrade? When I am trying to do the firmware upgrade, the screen says turn off your keyboard and back on within 30 seconds and there is no power button? I removed the battery and put it back on but the it screen times out.

Ah, nvm, I found the tiny power button on the side of the keyboard :)

        • Mine auto updated after loading logi app on the PC. I also paired the it with a logi M650 mouse as it uses the same receiver. What mouse you using?

  • Kmart has $40 wireless 60% mechanical keyboards now. Loud blue type switches (someone had opened one up on the shelf so I had a quick type on it). Felt about right for $40

  • Thank you for this, got for $97 from ebay just now, with ebay prime paid $92
Glad I came here before buying from elsewhere. Cheers
