Cheap price on this offroad RC Buggy that can travel at speeds of 25-30km/h and includes 3 batteries so you can easily get an hour or more of playtime out of it. At about $21 it's good for the kids or yourself. Plus it ships from BG's AU warehouse so the delivery should be quick.

Looking at reviews it seems some people have modified it to use 18650 cells with a battery holder like this that uses a red JST plug (I think?) to get better battery life and performance.

Avoid. Appears to be same crap that sells in Kmart/big W for similar amount

      link?

Can't confirm they are the same, but I can confirm they are crap. I bought one thinking "how bad could they be?" Pretty bad it turns out. Ended up gutting it for parts and recycling the rest.

Avoid, waste of time and money.

      • You got this exact model? What happened to it? I thought Eachine was a decent brand

        • +1

Nah, for RC cars, the lowest you should go for is Wltoys. Going 1 step up to Rlaarlo gives you a whole new world.

        • +1

I found Eachine was a good brand as well for their price.

Bought Eachine parts and assembled drones from scratch, and it flies perfectly fine.
Built three already almost entirely from Eachine branded parts.

        • This exact model. It functioned. But on anything rougher than concrete it would just bounce around in any direction. Throttle and steering are both all or nothing. Anything without proportional controls is a waste of money IMHO. Wltoys are about as good as it gets for cheap, WPL are ok-ish but overpriced for what they deliver.

Not all eachine is crap, they do the whole range from garbage to decent. I bought one of their brushless boats which was good.

        • Yeah Its not so much the brand just the lack of proportional controls. going from 0-100% throttle and steering just means looping it and no control over which way you end up going.

I ended up buy 3x MJX 1/16 brushless for Xmas for the kids and I. More expensive but way off the edge of toy into hobby and they absolutely rip.
Cross shopped Raarlo, WLtoys, Eachine before deciding.

@ezekiel181: $160 though! Would love one but my kids destroy things pretty quick. So figured for $20 I'd give this a shot but went OOS

@booboo: No you're right and I do sort of regret getting one this fast for my 6 year old. But we practice in the park on open grass if he hasn't trashed it in 12-18 months he will be pretty good!

  • Not sure on that one but this Drift one looks nice

    • I will try the drift one if they have AU stock and discount.

    • I have this can comment sh1tty car and 4wd to op for it!

    • Doesn't have proportional steering so wont be any good

  • you can easily get an hour or more of playtime out of it.

Total!?! (Until the kids run it into a wall, siblings, and/or other)

Typically you don't count kids breaking crap into advertised battery life levels :P

        You haven't met my kids!

      • Kids just want go the fastest, do burnouts on gravel, jump them and you should absolutely assume they will run these into the ground. Be it the battery, drivetrain, chassis or motor.

Great for enthusiasts who want to get their kids or nephews involved in RC without risking their own $1000 toy.

        Nice post

Yup I know what you mean. Adult me was like that with electric scooters. I started off with the Xiaomi Pro 2 as a toy, reached its limits and now rock a Lightning V2 :P

    • Batteries last less than 2 minutes each on full charge. Got this exact model with the extra batteries late last year. Got a partial refund because of the battery issue and bought a decent battery that actually lasts a good amount of time. Quite fun when it does work and was a good introduction for my son into RC car usage.

when you apply the $20 voucher it raises the price from $24.99 to $34.99 which removes half the value of the $20 voucher.

    • +1

Yes that's how coupons work. It returns the product to the full price and then applies the discount to get the coupon price.

      • but the "full price" is US$59.99 as is clearly seen crossed out on the original product listing.

        • +5

The deal price is $14.99 and the coupon achieves that.

    OOS

  • "How can we be expected to have fun driving this if we can’t even fit inside the car?"]

    • Some parents idea of fun is sending their kids down the road in a plastic car at 25-30km/h and letting Jesus take the wheel.

  • Got one thanks! looks decent for the price.

  • Thanks OP. Got one but damaged. Box was broken when opened. Does anyone know how does the return works with Bangood? Have lodged replacement request online.

  • Got mine today . surprised how good it is for $21 delivered. The kmart stuff in comparison is worse

  • Mine arrived, works ok but batteries last under 2 mins. Is this the same with everyone else?
