    Thanks.

We often work with charities that gift toys to disadvantaged kids. These toys often need batteries and these are a good option.

Those that are negging this deal are free not to buy the product, but for some disposable batteries are a better option.

The only time I use non rechargeable if for remotes as they tend to last for years. Even the LSD batteries will lose charge over 6 months

  • I prefer the good quality rechargeable batteries, even in TV or AC remote controller. If you left Alkaline Batteries in remote controller for a long time, might be over 2-3 years, mostly the batteries will leak and damage your controller. Rechargeable batteries do not have this issue.

Ridiculous downvoting a deal because you are suggesting to recharge instead. Someone might need it to setup 50 fairy light sets. You have no idea what they are going to do with them.

  • I was told over 30 years ago that disposable batteries are bad, and that we should use rechargeable instead. This was in Western Europe. When I came to Australia, I could not believe the massive use of disposable batteries, let alone that people often just check them in a normal bin.

    • +1 respect for Western Europe
We have it backwards here in Australia.

I know it's not always possible, however vote with your wallet and strive to leave the planet in a better state than you found it. If you have kids, they may thank you someday. Or not…

Oh get off your high horse. Do you neg all the deals for motor oil, combustion engine parts and cheap disposable products too??

If you want to preach, go do it in the forums.

        Name checks out.

Very original. Do you drive an EV?

  • +1

great for remote control low power long standby time device.
and rechargeable is great for toys, high drain usage.
know the applications, nothing is better than the other.

  • Do they come in an ammo box?

  • +3

Bought. Yes, I know single use batteries are a terrible waste of resources, but I use these batteries in products where 4+ year battery life is not unusual. Remote controls, door locks, remote sensors, etc. I could maybe charge a NiMH battery a couple of times before it too failed with age.

Using these batteries in high drain scenarios is however, insane.

I don't want the dislike onslaught for saying this, but please always consider rechargeable over disposable batteries.
If you do choose to buy disposable batteries then please take them with you to your local Battery Disposal Location (eg. Aldi) when they're depleted. Do not throw them in your household rubbish bin, garage bin or recycling bin.

Should be without saying but Rechargeable batteries are a better bang for your buck over the long-run and helps the environment. You actually save $$$$ using rechargeables. Surprisingly I still have rechargeables from 10+ years still going strong.

    • garbage bin*
I had a laugh at 'Garage bin' haha

Last floods around here I gave away some torches with disposable batteries in them. Yea rechargables are great but if you have no source to charge them they are useless. People had no power for weeks.

Can someone post a link for some plastic straws too?

Disposable Alkalines have their place. But there's something wrong (or special) if you need 100 batteries per household even for 5 years.

Personally, If I have to replace a battery under 1-2 years for a device, I'd use eneloops for them.

Deserves an upvote since its a pretty good deal for specific use cases if these are decent alkalines.

  • Are there any deals on smart battery chargers now?

  • -1

    No

  • These are great for shitty kids toys which only work with 1.5V batteries

  • My old xiaomi phone had an IR blaster, i thought this was going to be the future for all TVs and small electronics were going to have inbuilt batteries chargeable via usb

  • Good for kids toys

  • It's good to see people actually care about the environment.

I don't get it. We live in Australia, where everyone drives diesel drinking SUV's and Utes and fly to Bali for their yearly rugby p1ssup.

Yet when it comes to buying a 100 pack of batteries that will be likely used over a few years people lose their collective minds. Let's keep this in perspective— You people are virtue signalling over Amazon batteries.

    • +1

Yeah I thought they there was research saying even if we tried people like elon musk with their private jets destroys our efforts.

Note: Rechargable batteries are 1.2V incomparison to non rechargables which are 1.5V some things like door locks and kids toys only work with 1.5V so do with that what you will.

Im trying eeneelopes right now to see if they're any good but they're kind of expensive. Only use em for flashlights and stuff.

  • +1

Aren't rechargeable 1.2v only. Not 1.5. no idea why they are like that but may not be effective in some devices that require multiples of 1.5v.

  • Need help. Says $34.99 on my end when I click on the deal, and can't find alternate sellers for a better price.

  • The problem with Alkaline batteries is that they can leak. Where can I find good 1.5v rechargeable?

ecoterrorism, given how most people chuck these straight into landfill when they're done with them
