    People still pay for these?

Government is handing them out left right and centre free of charge trying to clear their massive stockpiles.

You can pick them up at most local councils.

    • +2

      Including NSW councils?

    • +1

I bought 4 packs last week, whole family was isolating.

    • +1

Our local hospital hands them out for free, you just walk into reception at the emergency ward and help yourself.

      • +2

        And where is your local?

    • +2

      where do you live?

    • +5

Government here is only handing them out to concession card holders.

    • +2

      Where?

    • +3

      Not in SA.

    • This particular brand? Only two brands made the cut in a recent study by the tga - juscheck nasal swab and lyher. Lyher was better. All the other brands were inadequate.

      • +1

I can confirm this brand is provided by the government, not sure to all places but we have received hundreds and hundreds of this brand via government stockpile. The other brand we have received is Innoscreen.

  • -2

Government and states has 10 of millions of rat tests about to expire that cost us hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars what a joke .

    • +6

You do realise the pandemic cost us $400 Billion. And you’re stressing about a few mil

      • What are your thoughts on space exploration?

    • Have you read any economic analysis?

  • +3

Is there a forum thread, where we can give them away?

    • +1

Me too. I got a full plastic bag, happy to donate instead of dumping.

      • Too bad im nsw and you two are in vic

    • The Beanie Babies of our time. Everyone who stocked up now trying to get rid of, but nobody wants.

      • +1

Excuse me where can I get some of these beanie babies everyone is trying to get rid of? Asking for a friend..

        • +1

Jump in your time machine and go back 20+ years when beanie babies suddenly became worthless like RAT tests today.

  • -5

Exactly. Plenty of places where this is free. No deal. This needs to get off the front page.

    • +7

where can i get them for free?

    • Oz isn't Melbourne as an fyi. In nsw we don't have the same luxury, so no we don't get them for free and is quite useful for us.

  • +1

Can confirm you can collect from some local councils in Vic for free 2 boxes per person. We collected some from Greater Dandenong Council last week

  • -1

(profanity) me… i just had to buy this exact 5 pack for $43 at National Pharmacy

  • Anywhere in Brisbane southside where I can get free test kits?

  • +1

No deal. Don't test, don't have covid. Ignorance at its best.

    • The government is doing that with no more pcr testing

  • +2

confucius says you don't have covid if you don't test yourself…

  • +1

Waste of money. Go live your life!

    • -2

Get tested early. Get treatment early. Save your life!

      • -3

Treatment? Exactly what sort of treatment? 😅😅😅 Staying healthy is the best treatment. It's just a bloody flu.

        • +4

They can get Remdesivir! And isolate without fresh air or sunlight! Watch Netflix and get food delivered! Everything the government says to get better!

          • -3

@formulated: It's Netflix a cure is it? Stop being hysterical, clown

      • -3

        Delusional.

  • +1

If you're sick better spending your precious money on vit d, c quercetin and zinc. And EGGS https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33191178/

If you're not sick testing is pretty stupid.

    • Scull raw eggs?

      • Haha apppeas that way. Rocky Balboa. I'd cook them though.

    • +1

Without testing, how would I know I've got a deadly virus?!

They won't let me have my 13th booster!!

      • You won't know much when you die suddenly anyway after 12

      • -4

        A cooker!

        • +4

If they're a cooker you must be cooked 😅 Go get another jab pinhead 🤣🤣

  • -7

There is honestly no reason to be paying for these at this point. No deal.

    • +1

In South Australia free RATs are only available for concession card holders, immunocompromised people and their carers, so these deals are still very much appreciated.

    • +1

If you don't want them why neg? Not needing something or having a political position/ideology is not a reason for a negative vote.

  • -1

Why are they still selling these?

    • Supply meeting demand (and then some)

    • -6

      Because stupid people exist

    • +1

Because there are still a lot of hysterical idiots in this world

  • +4

Anyone dumb enough to buy these wouldn't have $9.10 to their name anyway.

    • -4

      Another Cooker.

      • +2

Cooked pinhead. Go get another jab pinhead. Tell us how your heart looks when it fails 🤣🤣

  • +4

I thought Covid was finished, My kids have had it, I've had it, my parents have had it and my Granddad… We were all fine.

    • +4

People have been brainwashed. Wait until this climate agenda pushes harder.

      • +1

Unfortunately most people couldn't see it at the time. I was waiting years for everyone else to catch up. Not talking about Vaccination whatsoever just the govt/media scare tactics that brainwashed most.

    • +3

It will always be a thing while there are hysterical idiots still on the planet

    • +3

How many times have you all had it? Plenty of evidence showing it attacks the lining of arteries, creates micro clots, dysregulates immune systems even in mild cases. Multiple infections do cumulative damage and people are getting re-infected within 3 months because let it rip is creating new, more immune evasive strains. You may be finished with covid but it's not finished with us.

      • +3

Haven't heard of any non-vaxxed copping COVID more than once except maybe trivially.

I know quite a few vaxxed with "long COVID" (they should now take an AIDS test), keep getting throat infections, eye problems, heart damages mycarditis, pericaditis etc. Probably just a coincidence though.

        • You mean of the less than 2.5% of eligible Australians over 16yo who are unvaxxed that haven't died?
What does trivially mean exactly? Mild acute symptoms? Any idea what multiple mild infections will do in 3 - 12 months time?

          • +1

@bargainshooter: Trivially means sore throat for a day or so. Maybe it was something else, just not ruling covid out.

Far, far more than 2.5% unvaxxed. How many lies do you need from govt before you become sceptical of them?

            • +1

@trevor99: I'm skeptical about a lot of things from government sources. But the process for being vaccinated and recording vaccination was pretty strict. So not sure why you would think more than 2.5% are unvaccinated. Many wanted the vaccine. Many were mandated to be able to work. And given in some circles there is a stigma for being vaccinated, some if not many would deny being vaccinated to fit in.

              • +2

@bargainshooter: Not really, for example there's medicare forms enabling the use of right to vaxxed privacy after which govt departments can no longer access. Many unvaxxed in this group. Can look at thousands of nurses, other workers who've lost their jobs to this day for refusing. Look at the largest protest ever in Victoria, bigger than Vietnam War protest that's now number 2. Evidence everywhere, more like 20%.

                • @trevor99: Um the stats come from the actual injections, not whether people give consent to release private information. There are 20,625,185 vaccine eligible people. 20,109,556 have had at least one dose. That leaves about 515,000 unvaccinated and most would congregate in fairly tight circles. 20% would suggest 4 million nurses and protesters aren't vaccinated. There are only around 260,000 registered nurses in Australia. How many participated in the last freedom march? You think it was more than say 20,000?

                  • +1

@bargainshooter: 70000-100000 was the Vietnam protest and this was far larger in area. If you are just googling this stuff from mainstream you have a long way to go to awaken. This is a journey you need to take by yourself.

                    • @trevor99: Even if there were 100,000 people - make it 200,000 (there weren't but whatever). And even if all nurses resisted vaccination. That's still less than 2.5% of all Australians eligible for vaccination over 16yo. I think I'm awake (pinch, yup). But I also understand maths.

                      • @bargainshooter: You think nurses are the only ones that resisted? You think the protesters were the only ones that resisted? Geez.

                      • +1

@bargainshooter: You seem to be ignoring the requirement for "vaccinated" people to keep "up to date" with boosters. There is no longer "vaxxed" vs "unvaxxed" distinction. No more "fully vaxxed" status. You're stuck in 2021 covid vaccine marketing land.

Many didn't bother getting boosters. Time since the second mandated jab stretched so far, as to be the equivalent of an unvaccinated person. This is because the covid vaccine's effectiveness doesn't last long, as widely known by now. Sorry to ruin your mojo about "less than 2.5% of Australians unvaccinated"!

                        • +1

@cerealJay: Unvaxxed is 0 doses. Anything else is a fake Govt construct.
The more boosters the more Russian Roulette.
                          Good luck.

            • @trevor99: TrevCookedInTheHead

        • +1

Haven't heard of any non-vaxxed copping COVID more than once except maybe trivially

How would they know if it's covid if they don't believe in the tests and don't take the test?

  • +1

    $8.50 now from Harris technology

  • +5

Why would you still test for this?
Sick? Stay at home with your sniffles. Feel fine? Live your life.

    • -1

      Sure Cooker.

      • Cooked pinhead

      • +2

What's the alternative? Get tested, be told you have Covid and to self-monitor your symptoms. Exactly the same as just staying at home. No early treatment is given unless the person has serious health issues.

Stop listening to talking heads in the media drumming up fear, have some lemsip and you'll be fine.

    • +1

What does live your life mean to you exactly?

      • It means stop being a hysterical fairy and live your life, be healthy and you won't have to worry about COVID.

        • +4

Ok thanks - also thank you for trying to tell me how to lead my life and what I should worry about and who I need to take care of. I'm certain you would be there with me when I need to take a family member to the hospital or take them in a wheelchair when they lose mobility. I assume you don't do cancer check ups, never wear sunscreen, seat belts are for losers, also helmets on motorcycles. Bugger belts on the flight when landing. And fairy? Do I detect homophobia?

        • -3

What a stupid thing to say you Cooker!

        • +1

It means stop being a hysterical fairy and live your life, be healthy and you won't have to worry about COVID.

This. Should also be applied to other stuff like cancer too. No tests = no disease = freedom.

          • @Ughhh: Yep. Exactly right.

          • -1

@Ughhh: Covid, you cough a few times, and have a sore head with sniffles. Have a nap, watch some shitty Netflix and be fine after a week.

            Great analogy there, genius.

            • @Spets:

Have a nap, watch some shitty Netflix and be fine after a week.

If only you shared this genius secret with my neighbour earlier, they would still be alive 😔. Why weren't you there to save them???

              • -1

@Ughhh: Let me guess your neighbour was 75+ or obese or both? A few unlucky deaths occur with even paper cuts. Stop living in fear.
