I don't like the desk mounting part on this arm. Holding 2 monitors, putting all that pressure on a little 1" screw mounting to the desk, it's putting way too much pressure on that spot. A desk will collapse and tear out a chunk since most are made from chipboard. You'd need a length of wood to spread the weight and pressure needed to attach to a desk.

I have this arm atm holding a 34" uwqhd. The desk mount part is MUCH BETTER and SAFER due to its larger area to clamp to the desk. Plus it has 2 usb ports (i don't use them)

    • A member here said using a metal plate on top and bottom to spread the force across would solve this problem. YMMV.

    Get 2 singles not 1 dual…

Btw, I also have two MSA20 for two Dell U4021QW

So if you have heavy monitor worry about your desk, get two single arms instead

  • these were $50 last week.

  • Just make sure your desk top is solid wood. The torque on that single fixture mounting with two heavy monitors spreading out would easily bite off the cheap ikea chipboard or fibreboard.
