  • Anyone know how this compares to the C2 or G2? https://www.whathifi.com/advice/lg-c2-vs-lg-g2-which-will-be…

I have a half-price coupon for lg.com/au, so intend to buy something. Currently the C2 is "$2000" off on LG @ $6076, and therefore still pricier before discount than JB HiFi @ $4895.

Kiss your significant other. Tell your parents you love them. Buy the CS. Don’t think about it again.

    • -2

ONLY buy the G2, keeping the picture quality discussion aside. It comes with 5 years warranty on panel.

      • ACL rights, spending $4k on a tv will give you at least 5-8 years of expected use under the law.. as recently LG have been replacing screens from 2017 model 4ks as I have suggested them to remind lg of their ACL rights

        • Is there any proper ACL doc or something to show LG if they contradict to repair after 5 years lets say

        • -1

Yes but you are also paying for the convenience of not having to go through the ACL process which is time consuming in itself. Also the ACCC guidelines aren't clearly defined, what one person might consider a significant defect others might consider a minor burn in that is acceptable after 5-8 years of use. Also not everyone gets their 5 year old panels replaced by LG, there is a bit of discretion to it.

        • Officially yes, they have to do it. But they give you a lot of grief, my colleague spend weeks to get his issue sorted.
While what you say is accurate, IF given the option I would opt for manufacture warranty to make the experience less messier.

    • I'm trying to keep the powder dry for a G2, because I want to wall mount, and the distance between couch and tv is not that far (so even the cm's saved due to this being flush against the wall will count, in my eyes). If space/distance wasn't an issue, and I wasn't going to wall mount, I'd go the C2 over the CS due to the (theoretically) brighter panel.

      • How much cms is the difference between G2 and C2 wall mount? And what will be the difference between TV and couch for you? Just trying to see what size to buy if I have 4m distance

      • Personally I think 4m distance would be fine (to get the CS) - I'm trying to work in a 77" into a (barely) 2m distance :P

        • +1

Lol.. Thats would be challenge.. Good luck..

      • G2 also has the evo panel, whatever that means.

beware though people have reported some humming noises on the G2 due to heatsink apparently.

    • I have the C1 its plenty bright ! the cs just has the faster processor I would go the CS

    • +1

Replying to my own post to state the specifications between all 3 are almost indiscernible.

      • It might just be me, but I think I would really want the "AI 4K Upscaler" for a 77" tv, which according to that comparison, seems to be on the G2 and C2, but not the CS? My worry is that content anything less than 4k (which is still a lot of things out there), would look terrible stretched out on a 77" screen.

edit: Maybe it's just that comparison table / my computer that says it doesn't have it - on further Googling (and given it has the same processer as the C2), it should perform the same upscaling function..

  • I remember seeing a 40” or smaller plasma TV at DJs for about $32k. Would’ve been early 2000’s.

    • were you the one who bought the 2 Plasma’s back in 2000s ?

      • I was a uni student. Also, I’ve never owned a plasma.

The 97" seems to be Ozbargained already.

  • Got quote for the 77" OLED 4K EVO C2 Smart TV 2022 4,851.00 delivered. Which is the better deal?

    • C2

    • That's a great price. Where'd you get that from?

    • I am interested too. Yeah where did you get the quote from?

    • +3

C2 is same internals as cs but slightly brighter panel. Some reviews from memory said 5-10% at most. As an owner of a cs it is more then bright enough for me so I'd buy a cs again. Might depend on your room I guess

    • +1

paying ~23% more for ~7% brighter panel. doesn't seem like a good deal to me

    • I called The Good Guys online number and asked for the range discount which they applied.

One benefit of ordering now before the C3 March sales is stock availability.
Current Samsung LN52A650 52" 1080p was purchased in 2008 and still going but overdue an upgrade :)

  • Does this TV has ATSC 3.0 Tuner? or C2?

    • I have a 50% spin n win to use, seriously considering going for the G2, because, why not, right?

      • Use it!! Doesn’t it expire on the 20th?

I was all for the 65 g2 but ended up going the cs 77 and fkn love it!

  • +2

These prices are hard to look at as a c1 owner :(

    • I came here thinking the same. So much cheaper than my 77" C1. In saying that though, Im still very happy with it!

    • CX owner here.

I paid $6450 back in 2020, which was one of the cheapest prices at the time.
