Great price for the 65" CS, not quite lowest of all time, but still decent if you're wanting it now.

    HODL for the March/April deals

    • +1

      What’s coming in March/April?

      • +1

        New models are released.

    • So your saying that there is a good chance the Lg CS will be even cheaper than $2316 if I wait until march?

      • +1

        Good chance = Yes
        Guarantee = No

    • You are right now price dropping

  • +1

I am looking at the 77 inch version. It's the cheapest price I have seen around 3900. What ozbargain crystal ball recommends. Hodl or collect?

    • +1

The price will inevitably go down, so it depends on your current needs.

    • OzB crystal ball still waiting for 3080ti for $999

Back in January, I walked in to TGG to look at the Sharp 70" $855 deal and mentioned JB doing $2.3k for this LG model some weeks before. They offered $2.5k lol

    • +2

I thought TGG and JB have the same owners?

      • +4

        Yeah, since 2016.

      • I didn’t know this

This is so good it's robbery. Unbelievable.

    I've still got a LG 55" B7 OLED from like 2017.
It still looks fantastic but I do wonder how far the panels have come in that time??

    • +5

Check out rtings.com you can compare the different oled models. Not a whole lot very incremental. The b7 still holds up really well.

    • I've still got the 55" B8 from early 2019 and it still looks fantastic. Interface maybe a bit slow though.

      • +6

Grab an Apple TV and you won’t give a damn.

      • Likewise, unfortunately also developed a white vertical line after approx 3.5 years :(

I don't find the interface too slow but I really only use Netflix and Plex.

      • Grab a google TV

    • Me too! Exact same haha

    • +1

You’ve still got a great TV.

Biggest differences are the image processing improvements, 120Hz (and HDMI 2.1), and improved brightness in HDR/Dolby Vision content.

As far as the OS goes, an Apple TV might be a good upgrade if you don’t already have one, to bring the TV up to speed in terms of apps and performance of interface.

      • Also, barely any calibration necessary now. Just disable the power saving stuff and you are just about done. The B7 required a lot of calibrating.

      I have a 55 b7 and a 65 C1. Panels have come along and I love my C1, but B7 still does just fine.

  • Darn! No afterpay available on purchases over $2k :(- so close!

    • Dunno if you can buy good guys gift cards of $300 to offset it to $2k….you can do that for eBay purchases.

      • I did wonder that, but.couldn't risk without confirmation, incase it doesnt work (ie apply gift card to get it inder $2k and the afterpay option will appear?)

        • +1

Ok Apparently if you go into the store they can sort this out with multiple payments and to use afterpay. Sweet, i am upgrading from 55" C7 Oled hopefully worth it.

          • @dingaling2: Damn I sold my 55" B7 OLED to a friend, then went to the Good Guys to collect my CS 65" OLED but there is a 5 week waiting period! Looks like i now have no TV for 5 weeks lol

Can’t get past checkout - keeps saying the delivery address has changed. What a POS site

  • I bought one when it was $2146.
Great TV. Especially if you have a next gen console

  • Is there any way to get GG to price match, and then apply 20% discount to the matched price?

    • ? This is the price at TGG. Is there another GG?

      • I'm guessing the question was whether it was possible to get TGG to price match another store, and then sneak the discount code in at checkout to stack with 20% off.

        • ? Is the 20% discount code is store specific? If not whichever store you go to should be aware of the code and won’t let you do a pm the price after applying the code then apply the code again?
Edit: I got what you meant. To apply the code at TGG website and show the final price to another competitor to price match, then use the competitor price and go back to ask TGG to price match then apply the code again? If that is the case why stop there instead of keep on doing it for 1000000000 times pm you will get 99.9999% off the price?

          • @wtfnodeal: Bearing in mind it wasn't my question, my take on it was they were asking if they could get TGG to price match a DIFFERENT cheaper store, such (i.e. Appliance Central), then stack with 20% off at checkout…

            • @Uncle Chop Chop: Sorry the “you” I didn’t really mean you but to one whoever attempts to try this pm idea. I don’t think it will work as most stores agree to pm do put notes on the quotes or the tax invoices with details of price matching which stores etc. which makes it obvious that TGG will see them and say no to price match the prices have already been matched elsewhere before.
Edit: sorry I totally misread your comment. The idea was to get TGG to price match other store prices then apply 20% code. No I don’t think it will work either online or in store as I did a pm with TGG online chat before which the quote I got had details of pming which store etc. then I needed to bring the quote to the TGG store I chose to pick up to pay for it. Had I chosen for delivery I needed to pay the quoted price by direct transfer without any chance to apply a discount code. The TGG quote I received was emailed to me.

  • Best TV on the market for <$2500?

    • Has to be… I've got this one in the bedroom, and the LG C2 83inch which came out at around $11k a few months ago. I've also popped a room appropriate sound system on each.

I am pretty good with ears and eyes and can't tell them apart. I am pretty sure the OS/UI is the same too.

The CS 55 for $1500 odd has been one of my best purchases in recent memory.

      • Cheers mate, now I won’t regret the purchase!

  • Can someone who has one please confirm if this has a fixed power plug that can’t be removed? Ta

    • Based on all the TV's I've owned and my LG OLED B7 i would say these CS OLEDS also have fixed power cables.

My plan was to get a 55" one, but this one was hard to HODL.
