Weren't prior deals 12mos worth? I remembered getting a year when I got my work iPhone.

    • Yeah, it was. This offer is no different to the one I got for buying an LG C2.

    • +2

Pray Apple don't alter it further.

    • Yeah I got 1 year with my Apple TV less than 12 months ago.

Lot of Apple zombies here I see

    • +8

Apple fully supports old devices a lot longer than any Android reseller.

  • +2

That should be enough to watch the couple of shows worth watching on there

    • +1

What shows are they ? Most shows I find are not free , and have a further fee

      • +2

Ted Lasso. You won't regret it.

      • For All Mankind

  • I bought 3 of those products over the past few months but only got the Apple TV+ 3 months offer with the first purchase, so presumably it’s limited to one per Apple ID in a given period (I had been able to use the previous, more generous 12 months offer a few years ago).

  • They still sell the Ipod Touch!

    • Pretty sure they’ve stopped selling that already.

  • I just bought a new Mac mini M2 - only offering me 7 days.

    • I haven't used it my self. So I can't be much of a help. I would suggest though to go to an Apple Store they might be able to help you.

    • Like me you have probably already enjoyed this offer with a past eligible purchase.
If so, your Apple ID is no longer eligible for this offer.

I believe AppleTV sub ends as soon as you cancel the subscription, rather than other services which may let u use out the rest of the trial.

    • thats kinda shit. Cant say im surprised though.

Mine is still active until March after cancelling

    • No it lasts to the last day of the trial

      • Yes. If you cancel whilst in the trial, you lose it right away. If you cancel after you have paid good money, it only stops at the end of the paid period.

        • My trial lasted to the last day of the 3 months despite cancelling after 1 month, but it wasn't linked to a new device purchase. A simply 3 months special deal. My experience, that's all

I got it with my apple tv 4k but this device is driving me crazy with the horrible quality video in Netflix and YouTube apps. It looks like it's down to 360p on a 100 Gbps connection which not other device has struggled with. Reading online it seems they've been buggy like this for a couple of years. Just a warning for anyone considering this experience box!

I’ve had the opposite experience. On my Nvidia Shield TV Pro I can play a movie on Disney+ in HD and DD5.1 but when I switch to the Apple TV 4K it offers me 4K and Dolby Atmos!

      • How about these Apple fans, I shared my honest experience and got down voted for it. I guess I'd better keep my mouth shut instead. Praise Apple.

          Blessed be the fruit…

I don’t question your experience (and didn’t neg you) but mine is working exactly as it should so far, no issues. I probably didn’t really need to get it for a new LG TV but I find the UI is definitely better than WebOS. (Assume you’re using the correct HDMI cable, etc?)

Perfect for the new iPhone 12 mini :D

    • Was about to say this, took the words out of my mouth :)

  • Can this be used with an app or do you need an apple tv hardware device?

    • +1

Can watch apple TV+ on web browser

      • I am more thinking whether I can run it on a smart tv. I have a Sony

        • +1

If it’s a newish model Bravia (post-2017 from memory), you should be able to download the Apple TV+ app. It’s not supported on older models. Just search on the Sony support website to confirm if it will work on yours.

  • There is also currently a 3-month Apple TV+ offer for anyone who is currently a Game Pass subscriber.

  • Worth noting this only works once for a single AppleID account and any joined with family sharing. You cannot go out an buy a new iPad and apply it again if you already taken a new device deal prior.

    • Does that mean if someone in your family signs up for the Apple TV+ trial with his/her Apple ID (with his/her new device) and shares it with your Apple ID (with family sharing), then you can’t sign up for a new trial later with your Apple ID when you buy a new device, even though you have never signed up for a trial with your own Apple ID before? Or does that mean your Apple ID can’t be shared with again if someone else is on trial?

I couldn’t figure that out from their wording.

  • 3 months deals are everywhere!
My old LG TV pops up with free 3 months.
Same on Telstra app with any existing service if you've not already used the offer through Telstra.
    New Telstra services too

  • Not worth it since I'm sure most people have used up their initial trial already

    • Seems to depend on the interval so still worth giving it a go if the initial trial was a while ago. I used the 12-month trial in 2020-21 and am currently enjoying the 3-month offer.
