I think inflation is crazy, it was $369 on eBay sale in 2022

    • +1

I would agree. This isnt really a discount for this monitor imho.

Will we see better? I dont know!

However it does stack with the 10% back Amex deal!

    • Yep, bought the $369 deal in March last year.

    • Same, got it on that sale too, still going strong, I did have a few issues where the screen was flickering and imprint, but it fixed on its own after turning it off for a few hours.

    • I bought it at that price and sold it on. OCD extremely limited, poor contrast ratio even for IPS, backlight bleed, hard to reach USB port, and 27" is just a awkward size for 4K when scaling in just about every OS. Stuff is either too big or too small. I just didn't see what all the fuss was about.

  • I just set up the Philips refurb 32” 4K monitor. It’s fine - wish it was IPS but it was $175.

32” is the minimum size I’d go for 4K. 27” would be a pain to use I reckon.

Probably yes for a windows machine, Mac works well with those 27 inch 4k monitors.

      • +1

There's zero problems with using a 4K 27" monitor on Windows. Have been using that spec monitor on both macOS and Windows for years. Modern OSs (including Linux) handle high DPI displays perfectly fine.

        • +1

Have to agree. Been using a pair of LG 4K 27" monitors since early 2020 at 150% scaling and no issues.

      • I'm using a Dell U2720Q with both Windows and Mac - no issue at all

    • +4

140% scaling in win 11 makes everything sharp as a tack. Could get away with less if your eyes are better or you wanna sit closer but i have mine far back.

i have two of them however, so im not exactly losing real estate scaling up.

        What's wrong with 150% scaling

        • +1

I min/maxed what my eyes could handle.

    • +2

Why would anyone neg this - I upvoted anyways, more love for our community.

  • it is much better and cheaper to buy Philips 32” 4K monitor, used or new

than this one with little discount

    • +2

anyone buying a 4K monitor to use at 1:1 scaling, yes.

but would you believe some people like to scale up a bit so they get nice crisp text that is clearly legible?

      • +1

My 48” AORUS OLED at 1:1 scaling is chefs kiss

Of course I do sit in the suburb over to focus on it though.

    • which model do you have in mind?

  • +3

    I miss him

    • +1

      I know. Me too

    • what happens if we call his name 3x in front of a dell monitor?

  • +1

Would you recommend this to someone who is looking to do office tasks/WFH and minor video editing on a 14 inch Macbook Pro?

    • I use it as a secondary display and its' great - scaling works great/looks good on the Mac. Mate has it as his main and loves it. Text is super crisp.

It's not an Ultrasharp though, so keep your expectations reasonable for colour accuracy etc.

      • I used one of these (well, last model, S2721Q) for a long time doing WFH. am on windows though.

I then grabbed a second one (this model) for a secondary as i needed more space.

    • +2

Yes. Works perfectly with MacBook Pro. Just plug in the USB-C and use. V clear and nice size on OSX, and charges the MacBook well too.

    • I use this monitor with a macbook and surface laptop and both look great. Works great for WFH and studying but not sure about video editing.

was $329 refurbished from Dell outlet a few times lately. got one, looks and feels brand new. awesome monitor, can recommend

    • +2

Same but…. the box was in pretty bad shape, inside was relatively new condition. Except it had all the wrong cables… monitor doesnt even have a DP port but it came with a DP cable as well as NO USB-C cable.. lol

      • +1

wat? I see. mine was like brand new, all accessories intact

        a lottery then!

I paid $425 recently just by asking for a deal in the chat.

    • Did they give you the link in chat to pay for the discounted price?

      • +1

I think they send you an email with a link.

        • Can you still apply the coupon?

  • +7

follow the instruction (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/662785) to get 10% off to make it $410.99

    • +2

Thank you! Got it for $410.99 - also used my Amex card for 10% back which becomes $369.89.

      • Wow very smart. Great deal.

      • How did you get it? I can only use the 5% coupon :(

        • You can get another coupon from the email following the instruction, and use it together with this coupon.

    • Didn't work for me :( says "Oops something went wrong, please click on the FAQ."

    • Can confirm that these instructions still work as of today - got it for $410.99.

Only takes 2 mins, use the first code that the email gives you (2nd one doesn't work for this product), then add the code at the top of this page to get a 2nd discount bringing it down to $410.99.

      Cheers mate :)

Good(ish) deal if you need it right now. Just an FYI, this one does not have a DP input. You'll need a DP to USB-C cable to use with most desktops (unless you're running reference model RX6000 or RX7000 series)

probably want to mention that it's a 60hz screen, seems over priced

    • It's not for gaming though. 4k 27" with Type C PD from Dell (decent panel) is pretty solid. Could still use it for a console too on the side and it'd be fine (if you dont care for 120hz, 4k at 27" would be crisp as hell)

    • its not a gaming monitor.

  • I got the S2722DC during a promo for like $339 last year. Great monitor. Pretty much the 2k and 75Hz version of this.

  • personally I can't use a 60hz monitor for desktop or work use either.
once you get used to 120+, you can't go back ;)

  • Thank you, got it for $410.99 with the discount codes posted above.

You can also get the predecesor to this one from the refurb store for a little less money. I think the only difference is the USB port options -> https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/refurbished-dell-27-4k-uhd…

  • Does this monitor let you daisy chain?
