  • That ain't worth the 8 dollar shipping.

    • it’s ugly as but seems ok value for $8. what would you recommend for the money?

      • +2

If you don't like the colour they've been doing the same model in different colourways a few times in the past (eg. black, Halloween zombie bright green) for the $8 shipping.. just sign up to their email newsletter and wait til the colour you like is offered. It's a great torch for the $8 price.

I have an Orange, Mint (green) and Black one. They are all nice. Not sure I like the snowflakes on this one though but hey it's a torch and a very well made one at that.

For something the size of a AAA battery that easily fits on a keyring, I've found it's probably the best $8 I've ever spent - plenty bright enough for emergency use with good battery life. Much better than those CR2033 torches.

    • +1

You're wrong about that. It's a great little key ring light, I used it for a few months until the free (pay shipping) ithx which is smaller and rechargeable.

downsides of this i3E is that there's no low power setting like there is on the ithx.

Those Myer torches are cheap Chinese crap, I've used them and they're dim, drain the batteries quickly and dent/crack very easily, plus they all stop working randomly after a few months. Olight is one of the best made torch brands out there, and $8 is an excellent price for a quailty torch

      • +3

aren't olights also made in china?

        • +3

Aren't most of your electronics made in china?

        • +2

cheap Chinese crap vs. decent Chinese goods I assume 😂

    • +3

Talking through a hole in your head. Comparing cheap chinese shit to these, which are actually a decent torch.

    • +4

looooool somebody linked those Myer turds!

    • +1

      two for $16 + $10 delivery.

Those also look a lot more cheaply made, no IP water resistance ratings, look a lot bigger, and have lower comparable lumen output.

Each torch requires 3 x AAA batteries (included)

So what you've linked there is in no way comparable to this deal, which is a small 1x AAA 150 90 lumen keychain light.

edit: got lumens for i3e and ithx mixed up

AAA battery in 2023, mmm no thanks

    • +2

Is there a 2023 power source that is better than AAA for a small torch. Example please (as a matter of interest)?

My favorites were the i1R 2 Kit Keychain flashlight and when they gave those away for free ($7.95 shipping). Only last 5+mins though on full blast but are tiny and handy for small jobs!

    Perfect for me, I'm a green/lib

  • Its like 13 bucks on Amazon.
    https://www.amazon.com.au/Olight-Keychain-Flashlight-Waterpr…

With choice of color, and dont have to sign up to a stupid mailing list to unsubscribe 10mins later. There seem to be a few slightly better ones (lumens) for a few dollars more as well.

    • +3

Your choice of colour for $13 is black or black

      • Black is good.

      • +1

Yea exactly, any color you want, as long as it is black

    • +3

$18.95 for same pattern so $11 more. Or this deal is a savings of over 58% - sound like a bargain. If only there was a website to share bargains….

  • +5

I have one of these on my keychain - great little device!

    • Me too, and is much better than my previous collection of Nitecore Tubes that all die in 6 months or less with soldering faults. Oh anthey used to turn on in my pocket all the time, these olight twist tops dont do that.

  • +1

Looks like the wife will be getting a torch.

    • Ditto

    • I think your wife would really appreciate a torch from Aldi

  • -2

I don't buy anything that runs on AAA batteries.

    • +4

      Why the hate on AAA?

  • -1

They don't last as long as AA and cost the same.
AA batteries have more than three times the capacity of AAA batteries.

    • +3

Ah see your mistake is buying throwaway batteries.

  • Thank you, got 1

  • Thanks. Bought one. Hope its good!

    • Got one previously for myself and it's so good, this one is for my wife. Brilliant quality.

  • Cheers OP. I got one from the last offer and I am surprised at how bright it is. Works well.

  • Just came in the mail, it's surprisingly bright even in the daytime!
