Now this deal it's not for people that prefer the $2 Kmart wall clock. This wall clock has really good features such as quiet sweep second hand, which means you won't hear that annoying tick tick sound. Also the accuracy of the clock it's a very important feature, I don't want to be late to wherever I need to be. My previous post on a Seiko wall clock, it seems people prefer numerals. So I found this deal. The black one sells for $111.65 but this silver one it's $68.02.

Big fan of Seiko! We had a Seiko for over 30 years at home. My dad’s Seiko is still going on (he passed away 2 years ago) even though it’s 35+years old. I bought him an expensive watch but he still preferred to keep it as his secondary watch.
I bought a Seiko Melodie’s in motion from Costco and it’s fab. Almost every visitor who have heard the chime have asked “where have I bought it?”
I know it’s not ozreview but ozbargain but anyway thanks OP I bought one :)

I’ve got a Seiko quartz desk/shelf clock that’s coming up to 30 years too, and agree they work pretty well (mine does run a bit fast after a while). However, it’s made in Japan (as yours likely was) while these ones are Thai/Chinese, so I’m sceptical if we’d get the same long-term value—though unsure if I’ll last until 2053 so may be moot.

    Looks quite nice, thanks op

  • Everytime I post something from Amazon, after 30 minutes the price jumps up. The offer it's expired already. Does anyone know why? Do they monitor the views on an item?

    • It's only gone up by $1 🤷🏼‍♂️

      • Yes I know. But deal here it's expired because it's not allowed to update price on title.

    • Yes you are 100% right mate, I have also noticed the same! I think they are monitoring the clicks but it’s sold by Seiko and Amazon would get their cut by fulfilling so win win for them and a deal for us 😂

    • +2

That’s why I gave up posting amazon deals. They seem to have some sort of auto algorithm that increases prices when people start buying the items…

  • you look at the mechanism on the back - just like a 2 dollar watch.
    what am i missing,
cuz funds are low u c

  • I'm ashamed to admit, I've got the $3 (not $2) wall clock from KMart and I like scrounging the Ozbargain for bargains.

    • +2

No reason to be ashame. I am scrounging on other things. It's just after I had a wall clock that wasn't that accurate, I many times almost was late to where I needed to be.

    • Dont be ashamed. I bought a $70 wall clock from temple webster that looks like the same $3 kmarts. Ripped off

  • Aliexpress have silent quartz mechanisms for a few dollars. Got one a year ago and no issues. Accurate and silent.

    • sample link?

      • Link gets rejected as spam. Try searching “Quartz Clock repair Movement +Hands For DIY Silent”

        • oh cool. I'm assuming you put this in a Kmart type $3 clock?

  • Will this go up in value?
