G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo Series AMD EXPO 32GB (2x 16GB) RAM DDR5 5600 $309 (Inc GST) Delivered @ Newegg

80

For AMD Users - I have been looking for decent DDR5 ram for a while and decided this deal through Newegg was the way to go.

CL28 5600mhz is some of the best bang for buck DDR5 ram on the AM5 platform (recent video from linus tech tips confirms this!)

Without purchasing anything else, this comes to $259 + $48 shipping. Which is an OK price considering.

Spend $380 on "eligible items" - and you get free shipping (logically, $259) - However, my RAM came down in price to $229 and I can't work out why. So if you need other items that can get you over the $380 threshold (I purchased a 3TB HDD and a network card to turn an old PC into a NAS) this is a good deal!

Fixed - Thanks for your prompt reply

  • my RAM came down in price to $229

    Item(s):
    AUD $229.00
    Delivery:
    AUD $48.00
    Est. Duty & GST:
    AUD $25.15

    You forgot GST…

Also, buy local, with local warranty for extra $50, is worth it. ($354.00 shipped for me). If you just buy the ram only.

I'm planning to spend a bit more to get the 6000mhz CL30 one, links here:

    Umart $289 + shipping OOS

    NewEgg $317.5 incl shipping

Amazon AU $321.03 incl shipping with Prime

  • I must be missing something, 'cos from what I see… there are better versions of this model, for less money.

    • Its the CL28 CAS latency that makes this a good choice over (for example) a CL36 6000mhz stick

      • I guessed that was it. But I’m refreshing my knowledge on the trade-off value, as 5600mhz seems slow to get 28.

I was homing-in on this one
        $310 for 6400 @CL32

I saw good RAM at newegg, but there are prices were turd, so couldn’t save on postage. Amazon had some good stuff, but slow arrival.

          Or this? for $265.90 delivered

          G.Skill RipJaws S5 Series (Intel XMP) 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin SDRAM DDR5 5600 CL28-34-34-89 1.35V Dual Channel

          • @Ulysses31: These units' xmp profiles are tuned for intel platforms. With AM5 the frequency and timing may/may not work.

            • @Heatherfield: EXPO is just auto overclock. Manual is still fine.
And from endless searching of poorly-marketed info, it seems XMP/EXPO is interchangeable with some g.skill. They say in their info: ignore the naming in BIOS.

Maybe other brands too, who knows. But you-are-right. No guarantees.
