Been waiting for Cashback from these jokers for months, wouldn’t bother.

Word of warning for those who haven't read the T&Cs: Exetel requires 30 days notice prior to disconnection.

They will however charge you prorata for the plan month this occurs in so it won't really sting you much if you're paying attention, but if you walk without contacting them you're paying for a full month as a termination fee.

When I quit due to service issues I asked them to ask for a refund of my first payment in good faith and to waive the disconnect waiting time. And they came through with it. I might have been lucky.

I would recommend to stay away from this. Still waiting for my cash back after 6 months, I queried SB, already 2 months, no help from SB.

SB is a joke, they are just useless.
Happened to me a few times with big cashbacks on other stuff…

    • similiar here

  • I switched to Exetel with the last Econnex deal and their service in my area was so bad. I've been told their backhaul is really bad. I had trouble loading basic web pages, so I went back to Tangerine.

    • What area if I may ask pls?

      • Western suburbs in SA

Exetel also puts a credit check on your credit report

Not sure it's worth all the spam you'll receive for giving them your info.

Asking for details just to compare, doesn’t seem right

Always a gamble with Econnex… Quite often they claim you're not eligible if you've done it before but don't set a specific date. Chasing up the offshore teams is a hassle. They should make it way easier and do live chat in that case.

  • Econnex via SB is a joke. Never tracked any deals via econnex. When inquired and submitted missing CB request, it took over 10 days for them to add it as pending.

Even after approved by date long passed for over 4 such transactions none of them are approved. Playing back and forth with SB customer service.

I did everything as per the TnCs, nothing wrong from end abd proved everything, provided all the required and requested docs, receipts etc. to SB just to get standard copy paste replies from their CS team.

    YMMV, but please be aware

  • I joined Exetel last year and was was meant to get my money on the 12th but as of yet nothing.

Funny how the small cashback goes through but this is now the 4th big one i have had problens with

My eBay plus one took a lot of investigation I had 2 groupon cash backs Rejected when I clearly followed the instructions And now this one

It's a bit of a joke really and as a result I won't waste my time with shopback anymore. I really don't care that much about 1% on a gift card to bother getting shafted on the bigger stuff

  • Hi @Manyo, are you still represent Econnex on Ozbargain? I signed up to Exetel via the Econnex Compare/Shopback $99 cashback link, however I'm having trouble seeing this appear as tracked in Shopback, though it has registered the clicks successfully.

    'Exetel (Compare)' shows as clicked.

Have received welcome/payment receipt emails etc from Exetel.

    Cheers
