      "BOINNNNNNNNG"

    • I had a 21" Gateway VX1120

      • That was probably a 20"

    • A 17" flat screen CRT cost me(my dad) a fortune back to the days when I was a K12 student, lol

  • Thanks, got 2

  • I've had my LG 43-inch monitor for three years now, but if you have the option, I recommend going for two 32 or 27-inch monitors instead. Being too close to a large screen can be uncomfortable.

Being too close to a large screen can be uncomfortable.

      Just don't get too close.

    • I have no issues gaming or wfh on mine. I estimate that I'm no more than 70cm away.

  • How far back do you have to sit for your eyes to not be screwed by this monitor size ?

  • I have a dell USB C monitor and it's very buggy. I listed about 15 different faults with it.

    • Not all and bugs, some are bad design decisions

    • The USBc cable that came with my U2723QE could be longer. A bit short if you have to get to the far side of your laptop to access the port. That can cause connection problems.

Ultimate Ozbargain WFH battle station… This Dell U4323QE as a central screen, flanked by two Dell U2520D 25inch in portrait orientation, using this recent deal

Less than 1cm difference in vertical heights:
    * Dell 43" vertical height without stand: 56.05 cm
    * Dell 25" portrait vertical height without stand: 56.7cm

Pretty nice setup for less than $2K (As long as you don't want/need the higher refresh rate for games…)

    • I have the dell C2422HE for WFH and it's really buggy. Most of the bugs are due to USB C.

    • Yeah as a pure workstation monitor I think this is a great buy, others have mentioned some issues with the pixel layout which is a bit concerning but I think the size, colour accuracy, features and warranty might just make it a bit of a WFH beast.

People really harp on about the Oled monitors and they look great I have the DWF but damn having to refresh the pixels everyday kind of gets annoying lol, especially because you forget to do it at convenient times.

Some posts on Reddit mention this monitor has a BGR subpixel layout which is not ideal for displaying text clearly, and so not great for productivity or WFH.

I have been very keen on a 43 inch 4k for WFH but unfortunately there are few that are actually adequate for this..

    • Some posts on Reddit mention this monitor has a BGR subpixel layout which is not ideal for displaying text clearly, and so not great for productivity or WFH.

Just open Cleartype Tuner and move through the wizard to fix the text in 10 seconds.

    Needs to be an ultrawide

    • I have a 43" 16:9 and an ultrawide. For work they're both great. I prefer the 16:9 size and aspect ratio for gaming by a huge margin. It fills your range of vision much better.

      • From a WFH standpoint, ultrawide is king for multi-windows. I have the Ultrasharp Ultrawide 34 inch, but at times I wished it was the 43 inch.

Fair enough for gaming you'd want a 16x9, but you can just use any standard monitor for that or one that has higher refresh rate

I find that vertical resolution is king for wfh. I edit documents side by side in word and have massive spreadsheets that i run full screen. 4k is great for that.

1600 rez ultrawide is good but I'd really appreciate a bit more physical height and rez. I'm still happy though.

1440 rez ultrawide is a joke and not useful.

My ultrawide is a hp z38c and is not used for gaming.

Why not get a 4k TV instead for this price with, say, 120hz refresh rate?

    • This. Decent quality TVs like the LG C2 will always be better value than a monitor at these kinds of sizes. It makes no sense, but that's the PC hardware market for you…

  • Keen to see a deal for the 27in

  • Surely this is too big for most people. I recently had to pick between a 27 and 32 4k monitor and even the 32 seemed to big

  • Wow huge.

  • How does this compare to the iMac screen?

    • Much bigger

  • If you're already paying over a thousand might as well spend a bit more and get an OLED

    • +1

Depending on your use case, generally, I would agree. I would imagine the colour accuracy from a calibration standpoint is better on the Ultrasharp as that's what they're designed for.

    • +1

If you're mainly running desktop apps though for long periods WFH, good luck avoiding burn in on an OLED - your Start Menu and Taskbar will soon become one with your screen after a few 8 hour work days pass by 😎

      • +1

I've been using my C1 as a WFH monitor for 2 years now(8hr days, 1hr break) , no burn in yet so don't think it's major issue anymore

  • Would love to have the 40 inch ultrawide one on this price 😁

  • Ok, crazy question…what is the difference to a 43” 4k tv?? Both seem to be 60hz only….e.g. for $349

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-43-4k-uhd-hdr-led-smart-t…

    • Usually, A high end monitor compare to a cheap tv always have a much better latency and colour accuracy…
but when your budget goes up to around 1000$-2000$ for a 43'' 4k tv, like LG 42C2, there is not much difference, sometime the tv even much better.

  • USB C would be a huge win here for a home working monitor for easy connectivity to laptops with PD and peripherals, etc.

People aren’t talking about this enough with why this outperforms cheap TVs. That, as well as burn-in issues in the long term, I think you’ll find this will last much longer than a TV performing the same role but happy to hear other peoples’ feedback on this.

    • USB C would be a huge win here for a home working monitor for easy connectivity to laptops with PD and peripherals, etc.

You can already do all this with a dock though, so it doesn't really add much value…

  • Does anyone know about the specifics of the KVM built in? Does it share all USB ports? Only one? Need extra cables? Hardware swap button? Software?

I have 1 PC with a Thunderbolt 3 video output (over USB-C) and another with DisplayPort 1.4 that I'd like to swap between.

    • +1

You can setup specific USB input with video inputs in the menu. When you switch between video input between video inputs (e.g TB3 to DP), all connectioned USB devices(such as keyboard, mouse, camera, microphone, USD storage, etc) on the monitor will switch the connection to the host which is current live on screen.

Currently using this on my U4021QW

      • Thanks.

Do you have to switch all USB devices at once, or only the ones you want (via menu)?

Eg just share keyboard and mouse, don't share the UPS control or camera?

        • +1

All USB devices connected to the monitor switch over to active display device.

If I would like to a particular device to stick to one device, I just connect the device direct to the USB port on that particular device.
