  • Good price, thanks OP. What's the shipping price?

    • I added in my cart and its now showing 406 aud !

  • Depends on the option, click and collect is free, 11 dollars for standard, or there was an option for express but i don't recall the price as i went with standard….

    • Can you please add it to the title?

  • +1

    I don't know where I'd need a 40mm but for that price I think I need a 40mm.

    • +2

its a nice EDC lens, pair this with the 28mm

      • Is there an OZB deal for the 28mm too?!

        • +2

haha not at the moment, but if you keen I suggest you keep an eye out on FB marketplace. Both the 28 and 40 have been used in promos as free lenses and people just flog them off for cheap

  • Would this be a good upgrade for my 35mm 1.8 DX?

    • 35mm 1.8 DX

You've somehow adapted 35mm 1.8 DX to work with z mount..?

      • The FTZ adapter?

        Or maybe they've got the Z 35mm f1.8

        • FTZ with my Z50.

Amazing lens for $200 had it for 7 years but can see it's not nearly as sharp as the kit lenses

          • @penguinswillrise: wow no vignette? 35mm f1.8 dx was one of the first ones i dumped when i moved from d90 to d600..like 11 years ago lol

            • @Jimothy Wongingtons: I thought Z50 was an APS-C format camera? How much vignetting would it display from F to Z mount?

              • @bydl: haha i had actually forgot there even was crop z mounts, yeah fair enough then. If i was in @penguinswillrise position i'd just sell the 35 f1.8dx and put the money towards a native lens like this

  • Good for astrophotography?

    • I've seem some good pics with people using it, but you really can't beat the 20mm f1.8.

  • galaxy s23 or iphone 15 or this?

    • If you're happy to carry a camera around grab a body and this and it'll best the phones for sure.

  • They are now updating prices. I had to contact them and get the price back again using a code.

thanks for sharing, worked for me too

funny how these things turn out.

saw this deal, decided to check what's the price on Nikon full frame mirrorless cameras, and found Z6 (mk1) bundle on Amazon for $2084. bundle includes camera, battery grip, second battery, and XQD 64GB card.

here's how a $275 lens got me to get a $2k camera. dammit ozbargain! you did it again

    • I quickly close all the tabs when that I start to get ideas like that. Nikon Z don't have Log profiles if am not wrong ? You have to somehow create it in your computer and upload to your camera ?

      • uh, I am not a video man, just stills. I can't remember what you can and cannot do on z6 in terms of video

  • I have this lens and found the focussing to struggle a bit. Does anyone else find this also or do I have a bad copy? My other 2.8 S lenses have no issues focussing under the same conditions (fashion show/stage performance with front and backlighting).

    • Will report when it arrives. Going to be pairing it with Nikon Z50

      • I got mine on Wednesday, it has now spent a few days on my Z6

great little lens! build doesn't feel cheap, feels right at home on a full frame

I would only use F/2 in low light situations, as corners and center are a bit on the soft side, but at F/2.5 it's already tons better, and there are use cases for that soft character at F/2 as well

so all in all 5* especially at this price
