Decent price, although not so low I'd think it's an error.

  • $420.35 for this guy

      Blaze it

  • Curious on peoples thoughts on this vs 6700 10gb?

    • +4

I got the 6700 for 444 and I'm happy with mine for 1080p.

I also liked the fact it was Sapphire, which is a much better brand than this one.

      • 6700 in 1080p can do 144+ fps for most of the games easy.

        100+fps for 2k.

even 4k can do decent 60+ fps if you lower your graphic to mid level.

      • +1

btw, why Sapphire is a better brand than MSI? I thought MSI is quite decent brand, isn't it? they do good MB as well.

        • +3

Sapphire make one of the best AMD cards. Good quality with good cooling. You'll find in general the MSI equivalent will run much hotter.

    • +3

similar, 6700 has 2 more 2gb vram. slightly better.

    • +4

      I’d pay the extra $50 for the 6700 10GB

          $465 https://www.umart.com.au/product/sapphire-radeon-rx-6700-pul…
and at most other aussie retailers +- $5

$453 delivered from Scorptec eBay with code FEBSNS23
I think you may need eBay Plus to use the code

          • @FireRunner: This is the one I got - plus $20 eBay cashback from Shopback with a Westpac card (that deal's gone now). I needed to tweak the fan curve a little more aggressive at the top end to stop the junction temp sitting at over 90 degrees but otherwise pretty good and for a bearable price and power consumption level. Solidly 60fps or better in most games in 1440p on ultra, nice headroom on older games or at lower settings. RT on Control tanks it a bit, but I'm not paying twice the price for one game. And it's a big improvement over the old 1060.

Scorptec also shipped it super fast even on standard shipping.

          • @FireRunner: Thanks. Got this as uses 30-40w less than the 1070 for about same performance when all i play is nms.

    • +1

      I'd go the 6700.

Have a look this, I used this as well when I bought it

    • +1

Prefer the 6700, full PCIE x16 (I have B450 board), same wattage, bit more RAM. Waiting for a deal at or below the previous low, should be doable now the game promo has ended and RX 7700, 7600 get closer to release.

hilarious, remember when people told me that prices would PLUMET after 4000 series relase. funny. glad i got my $500 rx 6800

    • +7

when ever rx6800 is only 500? second hand? or you mean USD?

    • +1

They are idiots, the 4000 series was made to keep 3000 series cards prices high.

      • exactly

      • +10

I think you mean the 4000-series price has been inflated to keep 3000 high. They didn’t develop an entire GPU architecture to keep the old one expensive.

        • -1

We will never know because you don't know what the company true intentions are and the CEO even said to cope with demand he will raise the prices.

          • +3

@Jasonio: Newer architectures are always being developed, there’s no conspiracy about that. Ada Lovelace architecture would have started development before Ampere even launched.
Pricing was steeply increased this generation because NVIDIA realised how much some people will pay for graphics cards. Likely also due to help move old 3000-series cards

          • +2

@Jasonio: "We will never know because you don't know what the company true intentions are"

"the 4000 series was made to keep 3000 series cards prices high"

          • +3

@Jasonio: CEOs lie, whatever evil it takes for profit and to increase the share price.

  • Hmmm would spending double on a 3070 be really that much benefit?

I just didn't want a heater in my tower but it seems this is still the case at 180w?

    • Amd cards run on the lower end of power spectrum

Upgrade to 3070 not worth it for 1080p
For 1440p/4k, its better and has dlss

    • +1

3070 is not worth it. 6700xt or 6750xt has similar performance but 150-200 cheaper.

      • +1

and what if you need nvenc cuda or want to use any of the AI capabilities?

        • Then bend over

          • -1

@Diji: thats your hobby, dont drag others to it

  • Price appears to be intentional, it was just in their email blast.

  • +1

What was the deal they had, might have been around boxing day, where they had a great price on an AMD card but then had literally none in stock?

  • +3

Why don't we just ban Centre Com "deals"?

Myself and a friend have both bought items from them, at normal RRP, "in stock", they then cancel after a wait….then the "RRP" goes up a week or so later.

    Dodgy bastards.

How are they different from dodgy 3rd party amazon sellers for e.g.?

  • +2

Lol @ me buying a rx 6600 xt in Aug 21 for close to $900

    Good ol days.

  • +2

‘HODL MY 550ti STILL FUNCTIONS’ 😂😂😂

  • is it worth giogn from a 6600XT to a 6650XT? lol I think its better to just wait for a 7600XT

    • wait for 2 years then

    • +1

Not worth going from 6600 to 6650. Not much gain performance per dollar wise
