  Is this the 'best' bar and sub from Samsung without satellites? I basically want a Samsung sound bar and a sub but don't want any satellites, this will obviously do it but curious if there's a better sub or bar at a higher price from Samsung that is also in the HW-QXXXB series.

    it's the one up from this one, the HW-Q800B. If you can find it, the Q900A from last year is a better option imo as it has 2 more surround channels

    can also vouch for the HW-Q800B. i remember buying it early without any reviews online to reference.
    its awesome and i dont personally mind not having rear satellites, youd need a power outlet closeby for them and possibly tv stands. an extra cost and inconvenience i cbf with

    I'm in the same boat as you. The problem with these highly recommended Samsung models is that their capabilities isn't fully utilized unless used with a Samsung TV :(

      That's the only reason I'm tunnelled on Samsung, have a Samsung TV, otherwise I don't know where I'd start.

  i bought this last year. was so underwhelmed that i bought the q990b

  go for AT LEAST the q800b

    was it the Bass you were underwhelmed with. Gets good reviews online, wondering if should get this or wait it out until the 800b goes on sale. $499 is hard to pass up though for something I only used every now and then as have a dedicated HT room for my movies

      mostly bass, but also the lack of side firing channels. the 700 only has the front and top firing speakers, so it sounds super narrow.

      with the 800, you get the 8" sub and side firing speakers

  If you are getting something shipped from Samsung to WA, please be mindful that last time I ordered a sound bar that was in stock, it took a little over 2 months to arrive. The courier company they use seems to limit the amount of deliveries they do each day which just delays everything beyond belief.
