  • Cola BBQ wings, wonder if they're any good…

    • +9

It depends on which cola been used. Must be Pepsi which means it should be 👌

    • +1

Well, if last time is any indication, they're amazing – I haven't been able to get them out of my mind since then… (also the Tabasco wings!)

  • Take my money

Also dont forget free survey chips and drink to make it a cheap meal. If you dont have a reciept, usually there is one on the tables. Write a random 5 number code and you good to go

    • +4

It’s just free drink these days, no more chips

      • +5

Depends on your kfc, I still manage to get the chips and drinks at my local kfc so maybe they haven’t got the memo yet

      • +3

Sorry didn’t see your post - yeah just 600ml drink for me too. No more surveys until they bring the chips back.

        • +2

how many surveys are you doing? lol
i still have the screenshot for the survey i did 3 years ago, 95% of the time they don't ask for the code and the 5% i show it to them and they don't even bother writing it down because nothing happens anyway even if they did write the code down

although there was this one time where the manager was insisted that i had to write the code on the physical survey receipt and i'm like… yeah what are you going to do with it after? log it off to KFC head office or chuck it in the bin … duh

          • +3

@prankster: I had a bad experience at a KFC in Sydney where I was treated quite rudely. I bought something online for $5.95 and then picked up a separate order, which was priced over $5.95. I showed the electronic receipt from my previous order to the cashier to claim a survey reward for free chips with my new order, but the cashier misunderstood and thought I was getting a reward for the same order. He said I could only claim the reward for my next order. I explained that I was using the survey for my previous order to get the chips for this one, but he was unsure what to do and called the manager.

The manager initially said I couldn't use an electronic receipt and that I needed a physical one. It was lunchtime, and they were busy, so I didn't want to cause any trouble and backed down. Later, I read the T&Cs and found that what the manager said wasn't true. I queued again and explained to him that I was eligible for the rewards. The manager was surprised and checked my phone to confirm I was right. However, he still seemed unhappy and spent another minute reading the terms and found a requirement to write a code on the physical receipt. I looked at him in disbelief and said 'but this was an online order, you didn't gave me the receipt? Do you want me to go and print one now?' He said 'yes'. Everyone around me was looking at me and I was so embarrassed… So I quickly exited the scene.

The most embarrassing thing was when the manager was trying to find another term to refuse my request, and I said, "I'm sorry; I don't want to cause any trouble." The manager replied, "But you are causing trouble," in an annoyed tone, which made me felt even worse. I have worked in customer service before and know it can be stressful, especially during busy times. However, I would never make a scene and embarrass a customer to make them leave.

This happened last November, so my memories may be slightly wrong, and I may have been too sensitive. Nonetheless, the experience made me realise that when I asked for the free food in KFC, it felt like I was begging for it. I decided not to visit KFC again and found other options. By the way, for online orders, you can ask for a physical receipt, but for some reason, I didn't get one for my first order, and I can't remember why. I'm sorry for sharing this here, but when I saw a related thread, it triggered my memory. Please delete my comment if it's inappropriate.

@JustMR: Make a formal complaint to KFC HQ

            • +1

@JustMR: You can still do the survey after an online order and you don't actually need a physical receipt… most of the details will be shown on the digital receipt, and the store number can be a random 3 or 4 digit number (try a few if needed to get a valid number). Then just take a screenie at the end with the validation code (like prankster above, I've used the same screenie for the last few years).

              • +3

                @MiscOzB:

the store number can be a random 3 or 4 digit number (try a few if needed to get a valid number)

I know everyone here loves freebies for as minimal work as possible. However, if you want your local KFC to get better, providing accurate and proper feedback to your store will make the biggest change.

After making an online order, go to the counter and ask for the receipt to do survey. They will provide one with all the data you need. If you don't have any issues, then you can blitz through it. They do read these feedback that people submit to the store.

            • +1

@JustMR: man thats a sucky experience indeed and especially then the manager could've just given you the free chips and drink which you were allowed to have too. sounds like a dick but shall i guess this store is town hall KFC?

I remember one time i brought my code and they would flat out not honor it but i guess it depends on which manager is working as they sometimes have to put some over ride code when someone asks for this free chips and drink

  • +4

Just realised "valid before" meant it expires the day before. So my $6 off voucher expired last night.

    • Still have the $6 two piece combo in my cart, wonder if it would check out successfully if i tried today

  • +2

8 for $8 is expensive!? Is it not?

  • +2

I want 9 for 9.95, original deal. Otherwise KFC DOES NOT GET MY MONEY. 😂

  • [Edit: Didn't see the post above from @pecan.

Only 600ml drink being offed at the 5 KFC stores near me in Central Victoria. I thought it might be to do with the shortage of potatoes or the franchisee who owns all the stores around here is a cheapskate.

Anyone else in Vic noticed survey reward reduced to 600ml drink. If that’s the case no more surveys for any of the stores around here.

I’ll take it to Yum directly and see what they say.

My fridge is pilled full of free KFC cans of drink and I give half a dozen cans away to friends when fridge gets too full as I don’t drink very much carbonated soft drink very much.

Prefer to stick to water. I just want the chips. I figure I’m being bad with KFC chips but a 375ml can of 7-Up says 578kJ which includes the 10.9 grams of Sugar. It might be the least kJ of a typical chicken burger, chips and drink, but the only time I’m not with water with me in the car is rare and if I come home I have a bunch of choices to drink. I don’t know. I just can’t get the image of someone pouring 11 teaspoons of Sugar into a 375ml glass and know there’s that much sugar in the drink.
I know it’s KFC and I’m probably scarfing down 50% of my daily energy requirements with one burger or a couple of pieces of chicken but they are just chock full of fat and sodium. I try not to think about the chicken and chips and resist the drink. Lol.

The Go Buckets used to be $3.95, right?

    • +2

Yeah that’s what I thought too

    • +3

Yeah but they were 4.95 for a bit there and some of them 5.45

I was shocked when I saw it a couple weeks ago, massive ripoff

    • $4.6 then $4.95 then $5.45 in Qld

  • +4

    I miss 9 pieces for $9.95/$10.95

    • This would be cheaper overall for one less piece.

      • +3

        Wings though….

        • Oh so completely different then. Idk I don't eat much junk food.

          • @Clear: I used to. Then they stopped doing good deals. Now you might as well get a healthy meal from a cafe.

            • @locknuts: The shaker salads were good. I can understand why they stopped them.

              • @Clear: Burger combo deluxe when it was $7.45 and you could change a side to a shaker salad was a good deal

    • +1

You are not the only one. 😏

  • Cool, pre-inflation prices

The app fetches the menu (for a store near me) from here
With which you sit there combing through with Notepad making note of any changes

    • +1

2 dollars for a frozen pepsi that was a dollar 6 months ago is crazy. Even maccas and 7 11 are 1.50

      • Taco Bell's are still $1. Maccas are still $1 in the app deals.

    • +2

The 6 Cola BBQ Wings add on is $8.45 for me… same for you? Tried adding each of the shared meals, but still $8.45 for each one.

        • Strange, the Fomo Wow section doesn't show up for me, even after changing location to the same as yours.

        • I see there's ways of getting that to appear. Will look into it.

          • @MiscOzB: Yeah I'm not sure it's possible with the new app.
I've modified my menu to make it show - which takes a fair bit of effort.

But generally if it's in FOMO WOW the items can be shown some other way - like as an add on.

            • @cooni: I can see it as an add-on, but it is 6 cola wicked wings for $8.45 just like @MiscOzB

Do you have instructions on how to modify the menu? I see you are on iphone, would it also work on android?

            • @cooni: I think some FOMO WOW items like the Snack Popcorn Chicken add-on are impossible to get. It's never appeared as an upsell for me.

          • @MiscOzB: 404
            THERE'S NO FRIED
            CHICKEN ON THIS PAGE

            No FOMO No WOW

  • There is also this deal

  • Ah shame… cant get 8 cola wicked wings for $8 :(

    • I went to the counter and the staff said I can order on the app, and they'll just add cola sauce on top! Winning

  • +1

Ordered 8 wicked wings on drive through, only got 6 in the box╮( •́ω•̀ )╭

    • +1

      survey

  • OMG cola bbq wings are back!
Thank you OP for mentioning this!

  • Haven't had KFC in a few weeks until today - I think they have changed the salt? it's more powdery and tastes different. still good but maybe not quite as good
