Sony 85" X95K Bravia 4K HDR Mini LED TV XR85X95K $5159 + Delivery ($0 to Metro, Exc. TAS, NT) @ David Jones

540

Lowest price ever. Not exactly a 'cheap' TV but by far the best price currently available. It's $7.5k+ at most retailers, and David Jones' price is even cheaper than the 'Box Damaged' listing for this TV on Sony's Ebay store.

Price match with Sony and combine with Cashrewards 12% cashback for an even better deal - 12% rate ends Feb 23.

Sony has used multiple panel manufacturers for the X95K and going off the likes of AVSForum, the 85" variant has been equipped with the best of the panels.

Outside the free delivery areas, postage seems to be $55. Note on the free delivery offer:

Purchase any tv and receive complimentary standard delivery*. Discount applied in the shopping bag.
*Within the metropolitan area. Excludes TAS, NT and non-metropolitan area in all states. Not available in conjunction with any other offer. While stocks last. Offer available until 05/03/2023

If it was up to me, I’d only be excluding the nation of WA.

    • Jealousy is a curse.

    • +1

The nation that keeps the country propped up

      • -1

        😝😝😝

No, the nation that wouldn’t let Aussies in or out due to their stupidity

  • X95k? What's the difference between X90k and this?

  • +4

X95K is Sony’s first Mini LED TV.

X90K uses the normal LED panel .

    • Which one is better?

      • +1

X95K is better overall but almost $1500 more expensive than the 85X90K.

  • Remove full array from title, full array refers to x90k with less leds

    • Ah yep, thanks! I was straight copy + pasting bits and pieces from previous TV deals and that carried over :/

  • +4

    Thanks OP bought none

    • Bought too

Geez how much money do you guys have lying around! $5000 for tv?!! That's a full fortnight of groceries

        • -3

Geez you spend $5000 fortnightly on groceries?

          • +1

@wch0852: Haha of course not. Just a joke about how expensive things are these days

    • +2

Can I come over on movie nights?

  • -3

Almost tempted at that price to upgrade the ol '85X950G

    • cool

  • Anyone can comment on the TV sound quality of this X95K model?

    • +7

TV sound …quality … words that really don't work together..

    • -1

Spend over $5k on a tv, worries about it's speakers?

Buy separates. At the very least, buy a sound bar (Don't do it, get some floor standers - gumtree is your friend; amp and speakers for cheeeap!)

      • +1

Already got a good home theatre system in the main room, Thinking of putting this in the living room at the back but don’t want to get another set of big speakers at the back. Probably need a less imposing (wife approved) sound system like Q990B or HT-A9 to go with this.

        • Yeah the wife tick is a hard one. Sound bar, but then meh, the tv speakers will be fine. My missus says "I cant even tell difference between tv sound and all the speakers". Breaks my heart a little bit every time.

Sorry, I just assumed this would be your main screen, HT or what not.

Is the Sony android TV slow as on this model as well? Never had a Sony that was quick and every time I see one I try and they never seem to improve. Simple things like turning on, getting the Android menu up, etc

    • Nvidia shield pro. Easy

      • Nvidia seem to have abandoned that gadget. No news of update and have discontinued its cliud gaming feature.

    • +1

Android TV on my Sony actually works pretty well

    • +2

Recent Sony models have been good. Go back a few years and they were noticeably slower.

  • +3

for this price you might as well get the OLED sony 83" when it was on sale better screen

  • Darn it. I missed out on that 12% Cashrewards!… that's a nice hefty cashback on something this expensive!

    • +1

12% cash back is still active, until end of day I think. You'd just need to get Sony to put through the price match asap.

      • Oh, so it is.. massive thanks @BW296. Done deal!

  • My click with Cashrewards has been registered, but the purchase hasn't tracked.

  • Thanks for sharing. I have bought one and got the 12% cash back.

    • Did Cashrewards track your purchase?

  • Price matched with Sony.com online chat. $5,159.00

Free delivery to Hobart, Tasmania ($14 shipping it would have otherwise been which seems cheap)

    12% Cashrewards successfully tracked.

    $4,596.20 after cashback.

    • Just wondering how quickly you knew the cash rewards was tracked? I purchased last night and only thing I see is that it registered Sony in my click history.

      • +1

If it doesn't track you'll need to lodge a claim with CR after 5 (or 7?) days. I had to do that with a previous Sony order.

        • +1

You can manually lodge a claim after 7 days

@BW296 - How long did it take for Sony to pay you after you successfully lodged the claim?

          • +2

@Klang: It's due to go through this week. I ordered around black Friday weekend.

            • @BW296: Thanks all for confirming! Now just hoping this 85” tv is good - can’t believe I bought it without even viewing it! (Just went off reviews on web/YT). Any existing 85” X95K owners please feel free to reassure me 😄

      • +1

The Transaction registered within an hour and I received an email to confirm, which stated how much I was getting back, and that it is pending vendor approval or whatever!

I had rarely ever used Cashrewards before (as I normally use Shopback instead), but had $9 of accrued credit. So not sure if the fact that I had some credit in there had anything to do with it.

If it hasn't already shown up for you, perhaps Lodge a Claim.. the button is in the Cashrewards App/Website somewhere.

Goodluck! $562.80 is worth fighting for :-)
