Gray's Atlas of Anatomy This one is 45% off

  • This or something else if looking to study medicine in a few years?

all i know is that this one is very much designed with the aesthetics in mind haha

Neither, wait until you actually need books and then purchase them, get the ebook version, or an actual library.

Anyway, for an anatomy atlas netters is much better and essentially the gold standard, if you just want to look at interesting pictures for now.

      • Ezuku is on the money, you’ll find the best way to learn anatomy is usually the prescribed text as that’s what the exams will be pictured from.

This is just a fancy book of anatomy, while accurate - expensive and more so for aesthetics.

If you are serious about studying med, there’s no better than interactive anatomy apps, that helped out heaps with understanding origin and insertion points.

        • Any recommendations for anatomy apps to get?

@clubhonda: It’s been a few years since I was at uni.. just looking at the store the Human Anatomy Atlas 2023 looks like a far more advanced version that I recall using and would think that would be the best $30 you’ll ever spend if you’re studying anatomy/physiology

@clubhonda: On Tablet Complete Anatomy is by far the best of the many apps I've tried. It needs a reasonably fast tablet though
Check prices and demo here. There's a free trial also.

Alot of muscles and nerves have paths that don't make sense when you look at them in a book.

Being able to strip away layers of muscles, nerves, connective tissue etc. and then rotate the model makes visualizing anatomy a no brainer.
It’s like comparing house blueprints vs a 3D rendered walkthrough.

            It's expensive though

        • Eh. Personally i haven't found apps or programs that great. There's something about a nice highly detailed drawing that makes things a lot easier to understand than a 3d render or an actual photo of a dissection.

I'd probably recommend just buying a second hand actual medical book if you just wanted something nice to look at or were curious. Nelson's really is so much better, both at actual learning and it's much nicer to look at. Less stylish though.

Again though I'd really ask what purpose you're after.

Didn't know the color made a difference.
