$14.25 with eBay Plus using code PLUSFEB1 :D

  • Seems really cheap, possible issue or lacking feature?

    • +3

You're overthinking it. Clearance. Panmi for a while sold Xiaomi phones in JB and now have excess stock of QC chargers.

      • +1

        Sounds good 👍

      • Who is Currently Selling Xiaomi phones in JB ?

        • No one. Xiaomi really isn't the right kind of phone for JB I think.

Without sounding like jv. What’s the usual price ?

They were $11.95 not long ago.

        • Yes it was a good Christmas deal wasn't it? Now currently $10 for eBay Plus if you haven't used the monthly code.

          • @Clear: yeah I have a bit of grief charging my phone at work so I think this will do just the trick, thanks!

  • Can I use this to charge my iPhone, or do I need a 20W one?

    • Yes you can. Just unnoticeably slower than 20w charger.

      • Thanks :)

  • Anyone tried charging their laptop with one of these? I am aware that it'll definitely charge slower than a proper power brick but wonder if it'd be adequate to at least keep battery level from dropping under moderate usage.

My laptop according to spec takes 20v-3.4amp input

    • +2

Your laptop isn't going to have Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and this isn't a USB-PD charger either.

      • I've tried with a 5v-3a / 9v-2a adapter. While it still charges, it's not fast enough to keep the battery from draining. Was wondering if the 12v-1.5A in the xiaomi charger would make a difference

        • +2

Nope. Still only 18w. You'd probably want at least 45w but given the small price difference, you should probably just buy a ~65 watt charger.

    • but wonder if it'd be adequate to at least keep battery level from dropping under moderate usage

      Obviously not

  • This okay for S21 FE which uses 15W? I assume not yeah?

  • Monthly ebay voucher needs $50 minimum spend?

    • PLUS5xxxxxxxxxxx code works fine for me on this.

      • How did you get this voucher? Via email or ebay homepage?

        • By being an eBay Plus member. I get them all the time. Shows in the cart.

      • Doesnt seem to be allowed for this seller :(

    • which voucher are you looking at? mine worked with this deal

  • $10 with the monthly 5$ off ebay+ coupon cheers op

    • Me too, thanks Clear!

  • These are safer than the heymix ones yeah?

    • Yes.

      • Thanks Clear grabbed myself these

  • Thanks OP. Have already used my $5 off voucher but $14.25 paying with discounted gift card sounds good to me.

  • Back to $29.00?

  • Shopback doing cb more savings!!!

  • Price now $29 ☹️

Are these better quality than cheap brands like Heymix?

    • +1

      Yep

      • Thanks. Sorry, I didn't see that JoeBogan had asked the same question.

        • +1

Well, I have 3 of these and used one so far, did encounter an issue. It could be the cable. Basically, the cable is burnt.

That said, it was not an objective test. While I did use it with an old Xiaomi phone, I didn't use the original cable. Also, I generally use original chargers with most of my devices (ones which are still under warranty). I "think" it was that dodgy cable, rather than the charger, but I haven't got the time to do more tests. Right now, those 3 are collecting dust.

I know these are meant to be Xiaomi originals, but I only have an ancient Xiaomi phone so it has an ancient charger (doesn't look like this one).

    Back in stock at $15.

  • Thanks got a set!

  • Will this power a raspberry pi?

    • +1

Depends. Technically, it will power a Raspberry Pi 4, but USB-A to USB-C means it will not be able to operate in 5V 3A mode (by specs) as that mode under USB-A arrangement is QC2/3 only (against official USB-A specs).

If you have too many devices connected to RPi 4, then it may not have sufficient power, but even so, the way RPi 4 works, you need to feed in power via GPIO pins as well if you really really need to use a lot of power on RPi 4.

RPi's using microUSB port should have no problem with this charger.

    • Did you try with the Pi yet?

  • +2

    got 3 pack for $10

    • did you manage to use the ebay plus monthly $5 off? I don't have the option on mine

  • Thanks Clear, always disliked using the AU adapter with the supplied Redmi charger.

  • What a great deal.

  • Ordered, and just realised USB-A and not USB-C. Bummer!

    • Same…

  • Just gone OOS again … d'oh!!

  • Great deal, glad it came back for a little bit ^_^

  • Back in stock.
