  • How can I do warranty?
    through Australia logitech?

    • You call Logitech. Ask for an RMA number and describe your problem. Then they'll give you the RMA number in a few days.

Then send it back to SSQ with RMA number enclosed and then wait for a new keyboard.

Not that much of a bargain. Can be had for $43-$45, just check on staticice.com.au

Can you get a touchpad keyboard that also has a numberpad?

    • +1

I've been looking for a while, and the closest thing available looks just like the K400, but the touchpad is printed like a numeric keypad. Sliding your finger across the bottom of the touchpad toggles between keypad and touchpad mode. The numeric keypad is not easily usable, there's no tactile feedback as to which key your finger is hovering over, touch typing not possible.

You can get wireless keyboards with a built-in trackball, if that would meet your requirements.

What I am looking for is a wireless keyboard + numeric pad + touchpad, with wrist rests, just like the bottom half of a laptop. But with somewhat longer battery life than a laptop, so I can web-browse on the TV screen in the lounge room, while sitting in a comfortable armchair.

I looked again, and I found one with almost everything I wanted. Wireless with full keyboard including numeric pad, with a touchpad where the arrow keys would normally go. The arrow keys have been moved close to the right-hand shift key.

Cost is ~67USD plus ~13USD for shipping.

Also, here's a cheaper non-wireless version, ergonomic to boot:

      • How did you get $13 for shipping? I got "We are not able to ship this item to your default shipping address. "

        • Oops, I didn't actually try to order yet, so I didn't see that message. I clicked on the "View shipping rates and policies" link beside the "shipping weight: 2.6 pounds" line to calculate the $13 shipping fee.

I should have noticed the line below, which says "Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S.". Sorry!

Damn Amazon! It looks like we'll both have to use a freight forwarder. Here's a good page listing a few:

I haven't tried this before, so I can't help you pick one.

Alternatively, Warcom have some Adesso keyboards:

The "SlimTouch Desktop" for $68.75 appears to be the same keyboard, but USB instead of wireless.

    • id rather this - spend a few dollars to avoid any fiascos with SS (i.e. the Galaxy SII BS)

    • no, it is $58

You can shave a little bit extra off by price matching at OW as well.
I managed to get it down to $38 last LTS sale I think but ended up taking it back to OW coz it just felt a bit too cheap and plasticky for me.

Make sure you go to OW and try before you buy!

    • Not really a bargain considering it is an Asian version. I have one for my HTPC - good for this purpose but does feel a bit flimsy.

  • I got the proper language version from the last LTS sale for $40. I agree with azz, its cheaply made compared to other logitech keyboards.

Rather buy from Logitec for another $5

ShoppingSquare has a bad rep for selling refurbs or returns as new.

    • Er, so why did you + the deal then?

      • … Just because he/she can! :-)

  • There are a few comments re "Asian Version" but none has stated the differences. Could someone point out the differences between the "Aussie" and the "Asian" version???

    • -1

      Difference between mandarin and english?

      • The Asian one has Hanzi lettering printed on the keys (that's it). The keyboard layout is the identical, It makes zero difference in terms of functionality.

      • Then it should be called "Chinese Version"!
Although Chinese are Asians, BUT Asians are NOT Chinese!
The Asians get offended when you call them "Chinese"….
