You can also recycle mobiles and tablets at Woolies and at "some" Officeworks stores.

    • bunnings as well!

      • +1

Bunnings have removed the multi recycle bins and just have the battery recycling now

    • +1

And at a lot of councils. Whitehorse, VIC has a program with drop off bins at the library and at the gym.

        Enjoy

        • Sir/Madam, you have just made my night, probably my weekend and a wry smile every time I hear his name screwing America over with his pet that sits on Trumps head! Never been more proud to be Australian!

  • Anyway, to get your pictures off the old iPad paper weights ?

    • Factory reset, or hydrofluoric acid

      • porque no los dos

      • The acid that will eat right through you and using water to neutralise makes it accelerate.
        Smart /s

        https://www.worksafe.wa.gov.au/publications/working-hydroflu…

        • Is this the one that gets into your bones?

        • The acid does NOT eat right through you. It is acid, it will burn you, but that is the best way to have an accident with HFA.

The flouride however will do.as flouride does and slowly and painfully break down your tissue and bone from the inside. Yeh it has high lipid affinity, but so does cordial .The gas will have the same end result, the liquid is simply denser by nature and human skin a sponge.

It likely won't destroy your photos on your ipad because it's not nearly as strong as some would have you believe. Beside HCL acid , it is weak…

It's toxicity that makes it so dangerous to biological matter.. It is highly POISONOUS .Dilute concentrations are just as dangerous .
This is not a property of acids. More acid = more damage. More flouride = same.damsge as lesser flouride but much faster.
I love the brainstrust authority that is nothing more than misinformation mongering . You can't go anywhere on the internet without finding someone passing lies as truth and the sheep falling behind in belief. ..

In closing, HF is a highly toxic poison and this is why you should fear it. A burn would be a finger prik to what flouride in your blood will make you feel. Suicide would be the best way to overcome Flouride toxosis because you 2ill feel every second of pain in every nerve and synapse in your body. You will not be medicated for this as pain is the guage on whether treatment is working or not.

OZBARGAINERS STOP BELIEVING EVERYTHING YOU REWD PARTICULARLY FORUMS. You can check your own facts easily enough.

Or you could actually use a strong acid like common hydrochloric instead of failing with HFl

    • Do they turn on/can you connect them to a PC?

      If not, try Apple support.

Wait I give my old stuff away to some company for free but this is a deal for me?

Can anyone please explain what I'm missing

    • +8

It’s a deal for Belong so they can get free shit.

    • Why do we have to wait?

    • I got excited as I never threw out my belong modems thinking I could get. A free label to send things but how I miss read it by a long shot lol…..

  • +1

    Can they pickup old furniture?

  • +2

What is best option for old lappies? Not mentioned in this deal but would they accept them?

    • Officeworks took my old laptops no issues.

    • +2

I used my old laptop to create an SFTP server for syncing CCTV events to a free personal cloud storage account instead of buying paid cloud subscription or a new raspberry pie. Some old laptops can make great servers. depends on the use case.

    • I’m pretty sure they’d gladly accept lap dances, from young or old, go for it ;-)

  • what happens if I send in all of the 'disposable' vapes that are currently cluttering my clutter draw?

    • +1

They should recycle the batteries out of them

    • Without the items cluttering it, is it still a clutter draw?

  • +3

Don't we just send all our old shit to JV's house?

    • Because her hoard is already great and jealously guarded, and she has no time for trifling tributes.

  • +1

Oh that's why they jacked the price to $19pm… Good move…

I need to know what to do with all the random assorted cables I have. I have like five VGA cables I don't use.

    • Put on Gumtree mate.

      • It's vga, send it to these guys…

  • Can't clear data off old phones if they don't turn on..

    • Take a hammer to it first! It's very satisfying.

    • I did spent $500 to repair my unbootable iPhone and then trade in for $200 2 years ago.

  • Modems and routers. Check!
    15kg max. Bugger

Was planning to send a Cisco NCS6008 for shits and giggles.

Does anyone know where can I recycle Dyson vacuum batteries?

    • +1

Your local council may have a drop off point for any household item that contain a battery.

  • Anyone know where to recycle old solar light batteries? I can't unscrew and have tried multiple times, it seems stuck

  • direct somewhat working e-waste to my house :))

  • People seem to want to spend good money on old tech. Just leave it in the drawer.

  • Belong FTTN modems are pretty good though… so far have moved between 8 NBN retailers using their modem.

  • If you're in Adelaide it's easier to just put it all into one of those recycle bins and let the Bedford crew sort it all out.

  • +5

Hi All. Jokes aside (and there are some good ones here). Please consider donating your old phones to DV Safe Phone (https://dvsafephone.org/). They repurpose old phones for victims of Domestic Violence.
I volunteer with them up here on the Sunshine Coast testing donated phones that are then reset/ repaired and given out to DV organisations and charities. Amazing initiative if you can help.
    Thanks

    • Has the forced shift to VoLTE phones meant a lot of the phones that had been handed out are now useless?

      • Not really. Very old ones and those beyond repair and recycled. We get
A Small amount of money from recycling these phones that then goes towards repairing others.

    • -2

      I'd rather not.

  • What about laptops

  • It's actually quite good because you can literally dump 15kg of anything into a box and get someone else to recycle or discard it for you.

Not like they would send back cables etc that don't meet the standard?

  • If you have a functional phone that's just old, I'd instead recommend places like CeX so you can make some money off it
