Best price ever on Amazon according to the camels. Quick search here on OzBargain suggests it may be the best price anywhere so far too albiet by $1.

Perhaps not the best build quality but it does alright especially for the price. I modded mine to be a sequential shifter and it seems to work better that way.

Youtube video on how to mod the shifter

I used hairbands and after just testing it just now, it looks like I need to replace them. Seem to have to replace mine every now and then as they lose their elasticity after a while. Maybe if you use some other material you don't need to (as often).

Sigma males and Giga Chads do.

Which I consider myself to be one.

I also know how to swap a spare tire and service my own car.

To this day, I still prefer to drive a manual. So much more fun, and better control over the gears. Unfortunately, my left knee developed patella dislocation, and let me tell you, that is not fun trying to clutch.

    • No. The deal is only popular because people like excess plastic in their home /s

      • Ah, that’s what I thought.

        • -2

Okay honestly, stick shift is a "car guy" thing nowadays. If you look at cars such as the Civic Type R, i30N, Toyota GR86, these are all cars that are commonly found in manual. People enjoy the complexity and added level of control their driving.

People like ME for example, would rather drive an auto as I really can't be bothered using a manual on the daily. It's too much hassle… But I regardless would love to try out the fun of driving stick though.

That's where a $35 product like this comes in play. Paired with a G920/G29, it's quite excellent and makes for a good sim setup.

That's why people like stick nowadays :)

    • It made my skills at driving simulators hit a whole another level. Found you effortlessly change gear in the small movement you focus more on controller the car than going full tote.

This might be all time low.

Great price but I removed mine. I never use it. I'm an automatic chum.

  • Yoo thank you this is going with what I just bought: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/760131

    • Do you have the racing bucket seat set up too?

      • Nah I have an empty desk. I'll see how I go with it all first since its for VR.

        • Have a look at the cheap ones on eBay. Having to undo the wheel every time you've finished can get tedious.

      • no, just the bucket

  • Any good steering wheels to go with it that aren't too expensive?

    • Hate to break it to you… this shifter only works with Logitech wheels g29, g920, g923.

Good news… g29/g920 is a highly-regarded budget steering wheel alongside the Thrustmaster T150

      • Too much for me, glad I missed out. Thanks.

      • Price of G920 is not cheap, ok this makes life easier.

        • +1

Wait until you see the prices of the other wheels, 600-2k+. Random brand wheels on Amazon/Ebay are a no no.

  • Isn't that REALLY cheap? It's normally in excess of $100?

Is the wheel cheap? DON'T DO THIS TO ME!

    • +1

Nope. I'd say normal price is around $59.

      • Ok I might be confusing it. I could've sworn it was quite an expensive thing.

  • Can't add to cart.

  • Its sold out now.

  • Before it sold out, it said these were used - like new?

    • Nope. All brand new before it sold out.

Out of all sim racing shifters, this is the only budget option. It shifts like a toy (can even shift with my pinky) and its easy to miss shift because the gears are so damn close.

I have tried modding it with that g29 gear shift adapter pad mod but that 3d pos broke easily ;(. I have tried to make it feel more premium with a g29 shift knob adapter, shift knob extender and aftermarket shift knob. Still feels cheap and mods cost more than shifter itself.

Next best cheapest option is the SHH shifter but that only works with pc and not ps4/xbox. The next option that works with consoles is Thrustmaster TH8A but that costs around a g29 itself ;(

Also sim racing is expensive. Once you get this shifter and the wheel. You will may itching for a sim racing stand/rig with seat. For a rig, you may need a seperate monitor and so on.

Helps me to practice double clutching and not granny shifting like I normally would.

OP- dont use hairbands, find some (approx) 5cmx3mm O-rings…last forever and great fun for Dirt Rally or the like

    • I have lots of hairbands around so I've always used them. I'm going to Bunnings tomorrow so I'll see if I can find some that size. Thanks!

      • IIRC got some of ebay like 8 years ago… still have the OG one on the rig and 10 or spares

        • If I don't find some at Bunnings I take a look on eBay or something. The build quality of the shifter honestly isn't great at all and kinda feels like it'll break every time you shift gears. Changing it into a sequential shifter made a lot of difference.

Edit: Quick look on Bunnings doesn't look good. eBay could be the ticket..

          • @ozbs25: yep…fyi logitech are (were? like 5+ years ago) generous with sending replacements under warranty…reverse push down gear broke after a few months and they sent me a new one real easy….its never been used; if you use reverse in car racing you are doing it wrong… can just use paddles when needed anyway

  • oh maaaan…missed out
