It should be the same price, and CD is still the best format. Just people are willing to pay overs for the nostalgia.

I like the quotation marks approach. The last time I saw a vinyl promo at JB and 'purchased', they cancelled next day and cut the comms after I complained.

What makes an album an audiophile album?
Mostly the quality of the recording. Fidelity, instrument separation and production. There are plenty of lists of exceptional sounding albums onliny if you look it up.
Plenty of jazz I've got sounds amazing on a good setup.
A lot of pop albums it wouldn't matter if they were even lossless.
Interesting but not reasonable IMHO. Classic 'audiophile' attitude, that bloke is trying to convince himself that he hasn't wasted his money dropping $1k on a cartridge that sounds 5% better than a $200 cart, and so on.
I think the writer misses the point about why some people enjoy the sound of vinyl more. It's not that it's objectively more perfect at reproducing sound - to the contrary, it has known imperfections but they tend to produce a very pleasing experience, much like your chosen speakers or amplifier will have imperfections which give them a certain character.
I mean, no speakers have a perfectly flat tone curve. So if this person is so hung up on vinyl having a different curve to digital, what speakers is he using? Likely to be a bigger issue than the source for most people.
Also, most of what this person is writing about ignores that the biggest limiting factor with both digital and vinyl is likely to be shit mastering, not your gear at all. And in some cases vinyl is mastered separately, and better, than digital (e.g. Bob Dylan albums from 2000-ish onwards had this issue).
Yeah definitely the law of diminishing returns on all that high end audio. I was thinking about another video he did, actually says vinyl sales weren't as popular as it seems (and broke it down over a few regions), and that CD is still the most superior format. I enjoy his channel and views though, pretty entertaining.
There were some super weird stats the other day, something like 40% of people in the US who bought at least one record last year don't own a record player! Gen Z apparently buy LPs as a souvenir, not to listen to at all.
@caitsith01: Yeah no doubt, the type of people that would buy cassettes again. At least LPs should gold their value a bit.

Love Gorillaz but this one has not hit the mark for me at all after 4 listens. I like the singles that have been out for a while but overall it's very melancholy.
It's great to have on in the background while you're doing something. Grows on you that way.

Refund didn't include shipping so replied to that email asking for it to please be rectified and all done within 15 or so mins. Disappointed in not getting the vinyl, but also can't really complain with the refund speed.
