Nb. MC40 is the better deal.. sometimes (and as of writing this) has more in stock.

i tried to update the mc40 deal to show that mc30 is now back in stock.
I assume that's against guidelines, because admin reverted my edits.
hence the separate post

  • Previously the larger MC40 was the same price.

    • Only the Monday just passed and I have already received the MC40

the mc40 also has more functionality.. it was the better bargain for sure.

for example, you can't adjust the odour/dust detection sensitivity on the mc30.
it has no anti pollen function.. and other features.

it may be good as a secondary/smaller area purifier.. but not as the main/only unit for a hayfever sufferer etc.

    • thanks.. i updated the description on this post to let ppl know.

  • grab one, hope this one is better than xiaomi 4

  • Has anyone else gone on a deep dive regarding the streamer discharge and ozone creation? I'm still unsure whether the streamer discharge technology is safe after reading a bunch of journal articles.

perhaps take that question over to the other deal.. there's discussion about it on the last page/response from daikin..

I just received response from Daikin saying they will be creating a FAQ about ozone due to the amount of queries they've had.

    • I looked into that. Daiken address it here.
Daikin addressing ozone effects. The MC40 is also Asthma Foundation endorsed, and the manual states

      • In some cases the air outlet may emit a slight odour as trace amounts of ozone are generated. However, the amount is negligible and is not harmful to your health. Suction of house dust and odours with large airflow.

So putting all those bits of information together, decided to buy one during the last deal. Arrived today. Super quiet. Will see how it goes. FWIW no ozone smell.

p.s all the models seem to use the same filter, except the mc30.. so it may be more difficult to find filters for the mc30 going fwd.
