If you don't care about animal welfare, then continue as you were: "Winter is coming… Ozbargain's favourite jacket.." etc, which sounds like corny marketing BS.
The RDS label is not a guarantee about animal welfare. There's alternatives to down, there's synthetic materials and better choices.
Whilst I would never advocate for killing ducks when there are synthetic alternatives, I would have just assumed that we eat so much duck that we're just making use of the down as an additional product?
Will this jacket be warm enough for NZ in winter?
I don't find it to be super warm. Maybe if you layered up underneath or were hiking it'd be ok.

I bought this jacket based on the Ozbargain hype. It's a good deal but be aware, this is a PUFFY style down jacket, it is not one of the trendy slim fitting down jackets you see most people wearing aroubd Sydney in mild weather. This gives you the puffy penguin look. Also the sizing is really big, I heard this and went down 1 size, but possibly should have gone down 2.
I'd suggest trying this in store first if you can.
The jacket I received was packed in a bag and has creases on it when I picked it up from DFO Perth, did other people have creases on their as well?
Creases? As in your jacket wasn't ironed…?
The had it all crumbled up in a small bag when they gave me.
So yah, it had creases.

@HangryCakeStore: Yes I picked up from store and I has the same, I am little annoyed that I got a creased jacket even though the add doesn't say that anywhere, but oh well, it is what it is.
