Tempting! But I have a security screen door…

I have one of these and they work really well! Especially for the other half who takes for ages trying to find her key in her bag haha. And also walking the dogs. Picked it up when it was still on kickstarter.

      Wait… eufy was on kickstarter!?!?!

For the record I have the wifi security lock, and eufy 2k doorbell separately and rate them

Samesies, but the comment by Shon has me a bit concerned that it isn't as fully featured as our set ups?

        • I think it's a pretty comparable feature set. But you have the advantage of placement of the doorbell camera, my camera is slightly obscured by the door jamb

      • I find the doorbell battery life unacceptably short, can't imagine how it will be with a lock also draining power. How are yours going?

        • I get 3 or 4 months out of mine, poss a bit more. My alerts are always going off too as people walk past on the footpath. I think thats pretty good consodering (I did come from arlo ecosystem where battery life was SHITE)

Same. Just got it installed this week. I believe I got it for ~US$250 around $350 at the time.

Seems really good so far. Easy install. Be aware this doesn't use the Homebase, but the chime acts like a Homebase.

Also no real smart locking - just lock on a delay. No biggie, I'll cook something up with HA and a Zigbee door sensor.

      • What do mean no smart lock? D:

        • It has no sensor that the door is closed, so it won't automatically lock behind you. You can set a delay and it'll lock after a minute etc. But if your door is open the bolt will come out.

          Still far easier than keys.

      • Mind sharing the link please where did you get it from?

        • Kickstarter

  • Why these things so expensive?

    • They assume you'd compare the price of their wifi keypad + their doorbell and add on the price of only having one device = too much

  • +1

This is a stupid price, you could buy the keypad and a ring doorbell for half the price - is it worth $300 to have them jammed into one device?

  • I just missed the Kickstarter for this and but picked it up on IndieGoGo for $379.00 USD with an extra battery and shipping, really happy with it, so fast to read my fingerprint and the notifications just work on my phone for events etc. Only issue I've had is when my router decided to change the 2.4ghz to the highest channel and the device doesn't support that channel and just stopped working, worked it out and started again.

    Really? People still trust Eufy???

So a company doesn't even think to encrypt its camera footage and also uploads your footage to their servers even when you configure their devices not too

And people would trust them to secure their front door??? Just leave it unlocked, it's much cheaper.

You know your neighbours can see your front door view unencrypted ;)

        • They can, they can see inside my house to if i invite them in too.

If I gave the eufy's next door a spare key for emergencies, I'd be pretty annoyed if they came & went as they please. If I confronted them about it and they denied it even when I showed them the video footage. I would be very annoyed. I'd change my lock and not trust the Eufy's again.

But I'm a bit weird like that.

          • @M00Cow: I got your point, for the front door security camera, I don't care if it's in a public server.
Maybe not for a backyard camera, when your kids are playing.
I wouldn't put an inside camera, unless running a drug lab or shop lol

Either way, how Eufy handle it is bit low, Ring (Amazon) had the similar issue, but they handled it well at least.

  • I have Eufy wifi lock, which I install 1 and a half years back, it's okay but not recommended, as the auto-lock sometimes does not work, and I have to calibrate lock once a week to work for the auto lock. only the auto lock work without a problem which is their default 3 minutes after. rest is all right, also this lock doesn't have separate door closing sensor, which most of the smart locks have, which sense the door closed, this just uses the latch as a magnetic sensor which is not perfect.

  • Just installed eufy fingerprint locks. They are fkn awesome
