$5k off what price exactly? 🤔

  • +3

Looks like 40k is the rrp

    • +8

Didn’t see that price… must have been a ninja 🥷

      • Had my ozb badge kicked in and thought the bike was 5k rrp 😀

    • +1

      $39,931 after 5k discount

  • Not L or P plate freindly

    • +10

      Not even fully licensed friendly.

You need some legit track experience to tame these bad boys.

      • Goddamn, 150KW+. That's more power than most brand new cars. You weren't kidding that you would need some track experience to handle this monstrosity. 0-100km/h in 3 seconds, crazy part is 0-200km/h in less then 8 seconds.

          • +1

@doobey1231: Most cars sit around that level, Generally if you are going to look at a hatch, sedan, suv or a ute in what would be considered the ordinary daily driver category the numbers rarely push over 150KW nowadays. Some examples following

            RAV-4 2.5ltr- 133 KW
            LDV T-60 - 160 KW
            Hilux - 150 KW
            Mazda 3 - 139 KW
            Kia Cerato - 112 KW
            BMW 320I - 135 KW
            Ranger 2.0ltr - 154 KW

Don't get me wrong, most companies still have a performance selection or even different engine configurations that provide more power (Such as more displacement and hybrid options) but you would often be paying quite a few more grand for the privilege. Some below with price to compare.]

            Kia Stinger- 200s = 182 kW ($57K) 330s = 274 kW ($61K)
            Ford Mustang - 2.3L 4Cyl = 236 KW ($60K) 5.0L V8 = 339 KW ($73K)
            BMW 4 Series Coupé - 420I = 135 kW 430I = 190 kW M4 = 353 kW (Pricing is staggered and cbf looking but between $75K up to $120K)
            GR Corolla - 221 KW ($70K)
            Hyundai i30 N - 202 KW ($52K)

            • @JustASmoothSkin: I didn't make the comment as a factual statement, more a general point of 150kw not being that impressive anymore, but like I said still dangerous amount of power for a bike.

              • +2

@doobey1231: Yeah 150kw on almost 2 tonne is cool, then throw 150kw on 200kgs and its very fun

            • @JustASmoothSkin:

              RAV-4 2.5ltr- 133 KW

Agree with your point, but the RAV4 2.5L is between 152-163kW:

              https://www.toyota.com.au/-/media/toyota/main-site/vehicle-h…

              • @Dogsrule: Dang, carexpert betrayed me. Wonder why the numbers are so different though?

                https://www.carexpert.com.au/toyota/rav4/2022-cruiser-awd-hy…

                • @JustASmoothSkin: That's because they list the 2.5L engine output by itself in the hybrid version, which is lower than the non-hybrid 2.5L because it uses the Atkinson Cycle instead of the Otto Cycle. Combined with the electric motor the total peak power output is 160kW for the 2WD hybrid and 163kW for the AWD hybrid. The non hybrid 2.5L engine output is 152kW because it uses the traditional Otto Cycle.

Toyota used to list the engine and motor power separately back in the day but since switched to combined power, most lazy automotive journalists just skimmed the spec sheet and listed the engine power instead of the combined power, and Carexpert just haven't caught up yet.

Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk :)

    • also definitely not wallet-friendly, and i thought the 300cc honda i was planning on getting was too expensive at $8k lol

  • +2

Kawasaki had me head over heels teasing a production e-moto, Feb 2023. Coundown on the website and all. Turned out to be a kiddy balance bike. Bastards.

    • What were you hoping for?

      • +3

my dream is an affordable big brand E-moto commuter. 110kph, 100 km range would suit 99% of my needs. Japanese quality, production at scale to keep cost down, serviceable locally. the Sur Ron enduro is close. Got the "Elektrode" instead.

        • I hope all motorbikes become silent one day, and yes I have a bike licensed just no bike right now

  • +2

Here in Victoria, licence loss in 1st gear, thrown in the cells then beaten for thinking about riding this

    • +2

Rubber bullets included in that deal?

  • Good uprgrade from my duke 390! I reckon. Only If I didn't had to wait three years to get my hands on one of these.

    • +5

      Username does not check out.

  • +1

Thought this was the base ZX10R with a $40k price and thought "oh ffs this inflation is ridiculous!".

Now realise it's a special version, I admit I havent kept up with bikes for a while.

Just checked, normal ZX10R looks like $26k now, about 30% higher than my mind anchored it in the before times, so not ridiculous, but still "ffs" inducing.

  • -8

You could tell me it's 1 million off, means nothing if I don't know the original price

    • Why are you commenting on a deal you gave no interest in?

  • +1

At that price. You'd be looking at the Ducati V4R with the electronic suspension and all the race bells and whistles, or even the Aprilia RSV4R.

    • +1

      What? A V4R RRP was 72K ride away and a base RSV4 is $40K

I think you've accidentally added the "R" to each version - at this price, the Kawaka RR is an unbelievable machine for someone wanting an "out of the box track bike"

      • +1

oh yeah. I think I was looking at U.S pricing lol.

  • +3

Would this be any good for Uber eats?

    • +1

Hell yea, change to a full pipe and they can hear you are coming 2km away.

    • Complete overkill but not bad for delivering pizza.

    • +1

Good for Uber eats X , when you deliver a
      $368 burger

I would be offended if someone on a scooter wearing nike tackies delivered it to me, but in a Ninja hell yea

    • +1

Absolutely, your food will be guaranteed to stay warm by strapping it as close as possible to the exhaust.

  • +1

2021 model. Market value would drop further $5k as soon as you roll this out of showroom.

Fully decked new model BMW M sport 2023 S1000RR is around $38k. Base model starts at $28

    • From what I remember this is more akin to the M 1000RR which has the BMW price of above $50k

    • But this is a Ninja, the #1 bike for im a sick c**t wallah she wants me cuz try hard steroid filled early 20s "person" in bankstown, greenacre, punchbowl who just got there full rider license

    • +1

This is the "RR" - its BMW competitor is the M 1000RR and like other limited production bikes like this - they appreciate, best mate got a H2R 2 years ago, and is worth around 15K more than he paid for it, thats with some track time on it

Save the 40k and buy a Panigale v4s
Who puts cable clutch and mechanical suspension on a 40k bike, seriously

    • This.
