These are terrible. They certainly aren't waterproof. All 4 of mine stopped working within 3mths.

    • Thanks was gonna pull the trigger

A quick read of the 1 star reviews was enough to halt my purchase, they seem dreadful…

      • Yeah, 3 of them were actually full of water (i.e. you can hear it when shaking), the forth you could only see the moisture.

    • Lucky, mine stopped after about 4 weeks

    • Just silicone the edges where the water comes in. Super easy and quick fix to prevent it from happening.

No good for dead ones obv.

      • You shouldn’t have to do that.
It’s supposed to do as advertised.

@Clear: Yes but the difference here is (from what others are saying) that you are expecting faulty items rather then in good working order.
Af course one can then attempt to repair it or return for a refund when it becomes defective or already was.

            • @Timetraveler: I'm speaking from experience. If you have ones already that work do some silicone and get your refund. Or don't.

              • @Clear: I have no interest in arguing or fishing for one as you accused me of.
In fact I could say the same, but respectfully say thanks for conversation instead.

                  • @Clear: I offered a solution for those who already have it. It would seem every negger would rather people who have working ones go into the trash. Instead of a simple fix that'll make them last.

Way to be pro-landfill neggers 👍

Amazon refunded my ones, and didn’t want them back.

Mine are still working fine just after a year. I just walked past them. Try amazon refund if they fail?

  • No idea why I bought these last time, still haven't opened the package.

they dont work in the box dufus….they need direct exposure to the sun

    • I put two in the cabinet, two in the garage and five around the house. They are all working well.

      • two in the garage

        How to get charge?

        • Replace the battery. I have three the battery is soldered on, I put them outside under the eaves like this. Some is more than three year already, they are still working.

I have these, have been in rain and shine since April of last year and still working to this day.

  • These and all similar looking ones are crap. You might get lucky, odds are you won't. BUT if you have them under cover so they dont really get wet they can live for a while….. until condensation or insects end killing them (location dependent of course).

    • +1

if under cover how they can get the sun light to recharge?

      • They only light up for a few minutes a day, so do not require direct sunlight for charging. I have some like this. I have two in the garage, when the battery is flat, I just replace it.

I put silicone around the edges of mine and they've been going strong for over a year. If removing the few screws from the back is too difficult for you, then do it front the front.

    • Funnily enough i followed your advice from a prior chat and of the 2 i had still working (of the 12), one died soon after doing it. I swear insects where i am make it their mission to destroy any that moisture doesn't.

      • Are you somewhere humid?

        • Sydney, in a sort gully next to a creek with poor breeze and poor morning sun. Quite humid in recent years. I've had better success with the baseus lights that are much harder to come by, and those solar wire string christmas lights seem to survive about a year or so.

    • Mine still working over a year but I put it a little bit under the gutter

  • Common issue with all of them - you need to silicon the panel to the plastic to stop water ingress.

  • I have been using these for more than an year. They have been exposed to rain, wind, sun but they still work perfect. One of them had the panels come off but I repaired it with some glue and tape. I will try the silicon method now.

  • Wow! ! I've had two of these for over a year in full sun and rain. They have been fantastic. Really bright must be the luck of the draw

  • Half of mine were stuffed out of the box. Instant landfill

  • I purchased a 2 pack 7 months ago and they are still working fine outside in the open elements. YMMV.

  • These are quite simply S&@t
