      • It was still working around 6AM this morning.
Now they have finally killed the 15% discount.

  • Was able to place enough to buy a refurbish iPad Air 4th gen after 12am Sydney time.

    • Is that the 256gb model? $909

      • +1

Yep, brought it down to $772.65

        • Cool… Decision is a bit tough between 64gb Gen 5 new or 256gb Gen4 refurb! Only $9 difference!
          M1 chip over storage?

          • +1

@alterego13: I was tossing and turning over it, but I bit the bullet on the older model because of the storage. I've got an iPhone and it's struggled with 128GB, so I was swayed by the storage.

Storage also sold me because I'll be using it for media and minor GoPro footage editing before editing on a PC. As I often go on flights overseas, having the storage to download movies from streaming services suits me best.

            • @chet: Perfect for your use case then.
I'll be using mine for work mostly using procreate/morpholio trace/autocad viewer and the likes. Primarily for client meetings to markup the drawings etc..and to show photos for ideas. Some note taking on work desk too.. essentially the first step towards a paperless office.
So it's a bit of both for me haha!
M1 for the longevity and high storage to store photos/files..which I guess can be worked around with cloud storage/usb c external drive? But it is essentially a compromise.
Ugh! It doesn't have to be this difficult haha!

@alterego13: It's actually such a hard decision. My partner bought an iPad 9th gen for her mum because the price was just so cheap, and she'll just be browsing Facebook and using it for video calls. That was also an option for me, but the lightning port lost it for me, especially since I bought enough to cover the cost of a 15 Pro later this year.

                • @chet: Yeah, that's where I started my selection dilemma! looking at the price of $425 with all the discounts..the iPad 9th Gen was a no brainer as it fit my budget of $500 max.
Then I dug deeper…and here I am sitting at ~$800 undecided! lol

  • Purchased iPad Air 256 $1249 for $1169, less 15% for $993.65. via Cashrewards 1.5%, not sure if it will be honored. But 20% off retail ain't bad. Thank you all for your help. Esp @doweyy

Tomorrow gonna ring Apple sales and see if they will price match JB/Amazon for the Apple pencil 2nd gen

1.15am Wed 22/03 and the offer is still available by the looks…

  • Still accepting orders at 2:10am.
    Thanks OP

  • Well that was a great run! Haha.

  • Hope there is another deal like this again. I had fun hoarding the GCs. This deal should be the deal of the year on OzB.

    • -1

It's a good deal but no way a deal of the year. Not everyone buy Apple products.

      • Well, not everyone buy the product from the ‘best’ deal.
Just like not everyone is interested in getting their free burgers from Maccas, $10 off Pizza Hut, join Turkey Netflix etc.

        • Exactly, not everyone is interested in every deal in OzB here.
Probably only Apple fanboi would consider this the deal of the year.
Btw I am an Apple user myself.

    Thanks OP.
